Hey!!! Check Out My New Website!!!!! MY TEAMS SUCK.COM PASSWORD IS

WARRIORS/ATHLETICS /RAIDERS. It's not so much that they suck, no actually it is, it is more about the atomic wedgies that two of the owners are putting to the fans. Repeatedly,, Exhibit One: I go to the Warriors game. It's bad enough to have to look at the sickening yellow and blue jerseys. Now they are printing San Francisco on the back of fan jerseys and other merchandise.. Not to mention that all press conferences and team announcements are made in San Francisco. Not for nothing, but didn't Oakland build them a new practice arena? Plus, the Oracle is centrally located and has great accessibility. And the bridge on the jersey, well it ain't the Bay Bridge. They are not even trying to pretend that they are not moving to San Francisco. Exhibit Two: Hi, my name is Lew "I can't wait to scrape Oakland off the bottom of my shoe" Wolf. Regardless of his reasons for leaving , and that is not what the post is about, how about showing the fans a little class. Was anyone in attendance at the games when he was wooing Fremont and they would have Fremont NIght at the ball park? Hey guys, I want you to pay full price to see a suck, oh excuse me rebuilding team for , say 3-4 years while i continue to build my San Jose Empire, complete with my brand new 18 million dollar hotel. I will also kindly denigrate the fanbase, decry your lack of loyalty all the while playing the "aw shucks, what is a billionaire to do "card? And by the way, don't count on being able to afford the prices for my new ballpark, you plebeians. And to really show my Snidely Whiplash side, I'll give you back FanFest with no f%^%%$$#ing major league players, poor Kurt, Dallas and Jemile notwithstanding. Although, they may be gone as well. The poor jamokes I feel sorry for are the folks who work in the promotions department, having to keep the giveaways current. Raiders: Would it hurt you to have a secondary ? Go look up pass rush in the dictionary!! No, this is too soon, can't do it. Yes, I can.Hey. Hue, call me. I got a list of General Managers, Defensive Coordinators and guys willing to threaten to smack you up side the head when you want to go for one of your your "i'm sooooo over it " trick plays. But, at least you guys are trying, I think. No, I got one more. Hey Carson, why is it that you can throw a 70 yard bomb but can't throw a freaking 4 yard pass to get a first down, or wait for it , touchdown? But hats off to the Raiders to working with the fans to get tickets sold. It was an exasperating, but fun ride. I miss you , Al. So, where am I ? Raiders are done, A's will pad the other team's stats and the Warriors are at best, amusing. But, the best thing about the Warriors and A's, you don't have to pay the billionaires and millionaires to see the games. I can now wholeheartedly wear the mantle of fans who "don't go tothe games unless there is a decent giveaway."Scott Hatteburg, I'm looking at you, babe. Just sign me, Charlie Brown laying on his back on top of Snoopy's doghouse going "ARRRGH!!!! And before you guys castigate me, I carried season tickets for all three teams. Will I continue to do so? In the words of Ricky Waters, former SF running back who refused to go up for a pass and expose himself to a guaranteed bone crushing pancaking, "For What, For Who?" Out.

Athletics Nation Sports Illustrated Money Ball Magazine Alert

I found where many copies are being sold. I believe these will be a collector's items. So, I am willing to do what I did for Sports Illustrated Dallas Braden magazines, namely purchase them and get reimbursement from NRAFers for the cost of the magazine and shipping costs. The cost of the magazine is $4.99. I know it is a bit much, but foks, come on, it's Brad Pitt in an Oakland A's cap and an extended story inside.

So, if  you are interested, I need to know as soon a spossible. I will likely pick some up before work tomorrow. So, with the cost of the magazine, the envelope and postage , I say about $9 approximately.no, actually $10 as the postage will be by weight. Anyway, let me know as soon as possible if you are interested.

Hey, I got mine, so I am all good.

Where were you when you heard about/saw/read about the three history making grand slams?

I believe if you feel verklempt (sic) mad, embarassed about something you meet it, greet it and defeat it. My way is to talk about it. I was at work, a very busy day, knew there was a rain delay. checked in on the score from time to time. Went to a meeting confident of the A's sweep cuz the score was 7-2 A's. Did a desultory check on ESPN at 4:00 and thankfully I had not taken a sip of the coffee in my hand. Unfreaking believable. Have not been able to read the wrap up just yet as I need time to decompress. I don't know whether to congratulate the Yankees or curse them. Maybe I'll just curse Bud Selig for this and a myriad of other reasons.

Athletics Nation Harden Limericks for Free Field Level Tix

So I have two free field level tickets to the July 3, A's vs Diamondbacks game to the writer whose limerick is voted the best by AN voters. The limerick must reference in some fashion to Rich Harden, baseball and biology. This contest is  for ANers,  i.e. anyone who wants to participate. The contest will begin now and will end at midnight on June 30th. I will leave the tickets at Will Call. So voters just chime in your votes. You can vote for yourself.

1. submit a limerick and then vote

2.or  just vote

You vote by writing which one you like best. Obviously the ones who submit earliest will likely get the most votes..

So, I will start....of course you don't vote for me.

As the A's hurler threw out the ball

99 miles per hour, the call

The crowd yelled "Beg Your pardon!!!"

Can that be Rich Harden,

In  a healthy, muscular body so small?

Athletics Nation So, I Need to Create A Contest Where The Prize is Two Field Level Tickets to the

A's/Diamondback game on 7/3/11. I need it to include Rich Harden, a baseball and biology.Let me explain. Way back in March or April we had those monsoons  where  there were massive rain delays. I didn't go. Call me a punk.

Thus, my two tickets are redeemable for select games at face value for the Sunday games and some Wednesdays and Friday games. I'm not gonna redeem those tickets on a $2 Wednesday for Family Friday night discounts.

Thus, the conumdrum. None of my friends want to go. I already have my ticket, so I have these tickets to use as a prize in a contest to be named later. I don't want to make it too easy and just give the tickets away. That would be too boring.

Soooo, help me to create a contest with the aforementioned factors,1. Rich Harden 2. a baseball 3. biology.

Please nothing mean-spirited ( although that may be the biggest challenge and thus prizeworthy). I want to hold the contest and declare a winner by 7/1/11,

So waddayagot?

So Who Wants My Thursday Ticket?

I don't have time to go to the Coli and turn it in and don'tfeel like fussing with returning it on line. It is one ticket. Row 128 row 9 seat something or other, 7 or 8 I think. So if you take BART you can have a free $1 hotdog and escape the Coli with minimal damage to your wallet. It's behind the bullpen, 3rd base side. I can e-mail it to you.

Athletics Nation Changes, changes, I'm too old for changes....First they take away

First Pitch in December, Then they take away My Honest to Goodness Fanfest of Yore, Then they take away my Rajai Davis, Now they take away my Saturday afternoons.

Dagnabit, I look forward to my Saturday afternoons in the park. I live for those. Now, the majority of games are night games? Sundays don't count as it requires a delicate church balancing act.

Saturday was  my day to spend all daggone day there from batting practice to the end of the game  and then if possible head out to hang out with Chris Townsend at the Holiday Inn.

So, now we have shivering cold nights in April. Now don't go all Pollyanna and play the glad game because there are some Saturday games sprinkled in...

Too many ccccchanges.

Athletics Nation GAhhh!!! Worst than even my wildest baseball related nightmares !!!!

Showtime announced that it will do a reality series on the Gnats. They feel that they have the personalities needed and who will be embraced by the world..

Gahhh!!! And to add to our misery, while the Gnats are having a full blown Fan Fest in their park for free,we will

have the stroll through the parking lot fanfest same as last year right before the last exhibition game in which we

play, guess who, the Gnats.  As if the Gants fans weren't insufferable enough. Strike that, As if the SF media wasn't

insufferable enough. My  game ticket is already available for whomsoever  (A's fan)wants it.

Did anyone go to the parking lot fest last year? How was it? I was so disgusted when I spoke with the A's office, I just could not bring myself to ask for details

OT :Chad Gaudin's Fiancee to be on the show

"Say Yes To the Dress" on Friday on TLC channel. It's a show about women who go to Kleinfeld's Bridal shop in New York and select a wedding dress. I know, I know, it's like watching paint dry. I'm interested to see who this fiancee is who stole the Louisiana Gumbo guy.
Of course he's described in the promos as Yankees pitcher Chad Gaudin, which I guess is only right, but still......

Anyone Going To Spring Training in 2011?

For A's fans the schedule blows. The majority of the games are away with the exception of the second week in March. The fourth week, which is when I usually go has 4 consecutive away games. If I remember last year, it was almost the same. Who's a fan got to "please" to get a decent Spring Training schedule ?
The A's Booster Club is not going so I'm wandering if any fans from home will be there.

Talk about Armegeddon! Giants win the WS,Joe Morgan gets  fired..What can we hope for next? Bud Selig resigning? Jeter hitting the free agent market?

This was reporteded on ESPN but I'm not savvy enough to post a link, so hopefully someone will do thefavor.

Yippee, no more self-assurred arrogant broadcaster messing up my Sunday night baseball games!!!!!

Anyone got An Extra A's Snugglie? I Sorta Got Swindled Out of Mine by a NRAFer

I say sort of, because it was my own dunb fault by being inattentive. Back when Braden got his perfecto, I was filling requests for NRAFers foir shirts, SI magazines, posters, commemorative tickets and lanyards, the whole nine yards. Well, I got a request from a college student who stated she was a huge fan but lived in the midwest and could never get A's swag. So, being the huge sofite ( sucker) that I am,I not only sent her Braden stuff but some other primo stuff I had. free of charge.and stating I only wanted reimbursement for the Braden swag. I sent her a box of stuff. Unfortunately, I sent it on one of my "good" ( non-chemo recovery days)and did not pay attention to what I was putting in as I was so excited to be feeling well enough to send it..I mistakenly put in my snugglie. Later realizing my mistake,I mmediately e-mailed her and asked her to send it back Amid her cries of poverty, I even sent a stamped mailing package.I kept getting excuses. It isclear to me now that she has no intention of returning it, despite my canceling all requests for reimbursement of the Braden swag for the return of my snugglie. So, I've been ripped off, although by my own mistake. One reason why I never minded sending swag to A's fans as far away as England is that the honor code has always been maintained. So, if anyone has an extra snugglie they would like to sell or barter, please let me know. Signed, A Perceived All Day Sucker By A Midwestern A's Fan

Athletics Nation Yo, Yon Yohnson and other Athletics/Warriors fans !!!!!!

I have a season ticket plan  for the Golden State Warriors but can't go to all of the games. Since my ticket  plan (all home games)  is paid for already, I'm not interested in trying to get money for my tickets. Plus, it is only ONE, get it, ONE seat and those are difficult to sell anyway. My seat is in Section  120 Row 16, as in 16 rows from the floor.

Anyone who gets a ticket from me will have to accept an e-mail as I'm not schlepping  over to Will Call. The first game I cannot make is Monday,  October 18th against the Portland Trailblazers.

Most Friday games, I may have  scheduling conflicts with. But, if I know in advance who may interested in ONE ticket, I can just go down my list

Anyone who responds and  asks for two tickets to the same game as if I have two  tickets to give away is instantly and permanently eliminated.

Anyone who asks for the seat number of said free ticket is also instantly and permanently eliminated.

SF Giants and 49er fans are automatically disqualified. And don't try to do a fast one as I have a nose for whiner and gnat fans.

FYI. I  usually know well in advance or sometimes as late as the morning of.... i.e. I wake up and it's raining.

So let me know if you are seriously interested. Anynoe who accepts a ticket and fails to go will be severely beaten with a wet spaghetti at my first opportunity, as I HATE wasted tickets. I can find out if my ticket was used on the website.

I hope this is clear  enough.

Athletics Nation Gah!!! How did I end up with Three Free Extra BBQ Sets & What should I Do With Them?

Since, it is an offday, I'll write a narrative. This stuff only happens to me.
Once upon a time  an absent-minded season ticket  holder blew off an awesome AN tailgate expereince in order to lead 25 brand new A's fans Pied Piper style to  the Fireworks game. The absentminded part came into play as upon her arrival to her seat she realized she had misplaced her cell  phone. She spent the rest of the game, the night and the following morning trying to figure out where she had left it, to no avail.

So, despite not planning on attending Sunday's game, she procured a cheap ticket just to get a bbq set & was going to send her brother to get  the set.

However she decided to check the parking lot  on Sunday where she  had parked & not finding it, approached one of the bike security dudes who openly laughed at her when she asked the likelihood of someone turning her cell phone in.

While she was deciding whether to unlease a torrent of expletives on said bike dude ( utltimately deciding that would be so inappropriate and Un-Christian like) a very agitated man walked up complaining that he had two game tickets that he could not give away. Bike dude told him he could not sell them. Me being the opportunist that I am , yelped,"I'll  take them" epecially since they were in section120 row 29. Being that I was there alone, I used them to obtain two extra bbq kits ( once again being one of eleven children and programmed from birth to think of others)

Meanwhile, the Security Office did not have my cell phone, so I decided to check my seat from Saturday's game. Nope, no cell phone.

As I was walking back to the exit, a somewhat tipsy? high? dude asked for my ticket stating he wanted to keep it as a souvenir. I said sure, and in return he gave me HIS bbq set. It wasn't until after he vanished, that I realized he probably was a scalper and wanted to sell the dead ticket. I searched for him in vain and only hoped that no one got fleeced.

So here I am with three extra sets. And by the way, my cell phone was in the exact same spot where I picked up some of the kids Saturday at 4:30. On the curb right where I had parked, next to my church. Boy am I glad I didn't unleash the expletives.

So who wants ? MikeV for your BigAss grill? Lynn? Bueller, anyone, anyone? Nico for your AN bbq at your home?

Disclaimer, I'm unwilling to mail them.

What? You didn't Think I Would Get Extra Tee-shirts & Commemorative Tickets? Pay Attention Puleeze!!!

As one of 11 children, it is almost impossible for me to just get one item for myself ( with the exception of Sunday due to logistical reasons).
I have developed sympathy for non-California NRAFers who are
loyal fans and have no shot at giveaways.
    I have 4 Extra Large Tee shirts & 4 tickets .
It's my understanding the tickets can be bought on line, but I haven't seen them advertised yet.
i'm tired so I'm not making any quick decisions and am not promising a mailing date.
The cost wil be the cost of the ticket plus postage & packaging.
    Batter up!!!!!.

Athletics Nation I Have 10, count them 10 Braden Sports Illustrated and can get more if there is a Demand

They are $5.00 apice but I will include the price of tax and postage when I find out the amount. I would prefer to give priority to NRAFers as those in the Bay area have more options to pick them up.

There is a  good supply at the 24 hour newstand at 1310 Broadway, Oakland and  called Delauro's.

    So,  make your requests known.

Hope everyone can get one who wants one. I plan to mail them out in one fell swoop late next week.  JeanniferK@sbcglobal.net

Athletics Nation Where were you during Dallas's perfect game?

I'm really interested in hearing the stories from those who were there as well as others who heard it on the radio or watched on television.

Okay, so I even though I had a ticket, I decided to go to church. Since, it was Mother's Day there was a longer service with many presentations. So, when I left church it was the bottom of the 5th. II decided that since the game was well  in hand, I wasn't going to go for 3 1/2 innings. So   I went to the bakery to get a slice of red velvet cake. When I came out of the bakery, Ken Korach said that Dallas had retired the last 18 batters. So the lightbulb went off in my head and I'm like, he must be pitching a non-no.

I decided to listen to the radio as I drove to the ballpark and if the no-no was broken up, I would turn around and go home. I got to the park at the bottom of the 7th and begged my way in for free. The attendant didn't seem to understand the   importance what was going on and waived me in. ( I had decided I would turn my ticket in for another game). I didn't realize until after the game that it was a perfecto.

The ballpark was electric, it was like we were all on the field with him. I'm kiinda glad I came in at the end as I don't think my nerves could have taken it. Oh and I am definitely keeping my ticket.

I was shocked that there were A's fan leaving the ballpark at the bottom of the 7th.

This was so much better than game 20 in my opinion.

    Any other stories , please?
