Being an Oakland A's season ticket holder, I received a letter in the mail from the Superior Court of Alameda County concerning a suit brought against the A's & Macy's

Seems that the two parties offended Mr. Rava's s sensibilities when on May 8, 2004 in addition to paying tribute to all "moms" in attendance, sponsoring a breast cancer awareness and fundraising program, free mammograms to underserved women in the Bay area including a pre-game 5krun in which all proceeds were donated to the Carol Franc Buck Breast Cancer Fund had the audacity to give reversible bucket hats to the first 7,500 women.

Tha last act frosted Mr. Rava's hide to the extent that he filed a discrimination suit against the A's & Macy's.

A settlement of $510,000 was reached....$260,000 which wnet to the attorneys. the rest will be divided up between 2,500 men who enroll in the settlement. You have to be able to prove 1. you are a male and 2. you attended the game.

"The "Net Settlement Amount" distributable to eligible Class members is expressly set at the specific amount of $250,000. The Net Settlement Amount is comprised of $100 in total value per timely and valid claimant up to a maximum of 2,500 men allocated and paid as follows : $50 in cash, payable first form any unpaid amount of the $260,00 described above and thereafter on 50/50 basis form the A's and macy's (i.e. $25 from the A's and $25 from Macy's and (ii) $50 in script ($25 in A's tickets on a 2 for1 basis and $25 macy's discount coupons "

Whatever that means.

You have to prove that you were one of the fist 7,500 fans to arrive at the game.

The Oakland A's have the color black in their uniform. There is another sports team not too far from the
A's that also have black in
their uniform. Some A's fans wear the black jerseys of A's

players.. The A's play the Anaheim Angels. The Angels have another team that share the same city . The Anaheim Angels are a baseball team.

The team , not the A's, but who have black in their uniform like the A's got bounced out of the playoffs tonight by the team that shares the same city as the Anaheim angels, which is a
baseball team and a nemesis of the A's which is also a baseball team.
I was really hoping that the team that has black intheir unifrom just like the basebal team, The Oakland A's,
would pull out a win and get to a game seven.

Remarkably in baseball in the World Series there is also the possibility of a play-off series goingg to a game 7.
Maybe next year, the team that has black in their uniform like the Oakland A;s
will advance farther. What a
a disappointment to do so well during the season and then flop in the play-offs . It'skinda what
happened to that team that plays baseball in Anaheim last year.

Okay, PETA, I will now stop beating a dead horse.

But, seriously, anyone else have any thoughts on this contest, onthis non-A's baseballday? 1 comment | Add comment

so many people left them at their seats and I , of course, scooped them up. Who wants? Only two or threeare the worst for wear. so,let me know if you want one and when you will be at a game.

I gather some fans were casual fans or just not too impressed with our guys. Also there are quite a few new A's in there. Rajai Davis, got no love but Daric Barton did. Hmmmmm.

miffs me that the A's actually thought that it was okay.

I'm talking about Fan Appreciation Day. How far have our Fanfests fallen? I had a sneaking suspicion that it would be Fanfest Lite, but for crying out loud.

to me, the best part was always the Q & A sessions since you got to speak directly to players & management.

This year, they went all "Robert Buan" on us. You know where Robert has his show on Tuesdays after the game and has a special guest A's player and instead of letting fans call in & speak to the player, we have to settle for listening to his chats with the player ....WHO HE PROBABLOY SPEAKS TO ALL THE TIME INTHE CLUBHOUSE.

So, today, Glen Kuiper had the players seated on the field and he did all fo the questioning. 1st group wa sthe oh so aniimated Bob Geren, Kurt Suzuki & Dallas Braden. Group #2 was Nomar Garciaparra, Mark Elllis & Orlando Cabrera. The final pair was Ryan Sweeney & Matt Holiday. Couldn't get a third guy Glen ?

Initially, you had to have an autograph coupon, but thenthey eventually let anyone go get autographs, probably due to the light attendance.

I dunno, maybe it got better when the guys did their on field drills. But, I remember Fanfests when they had so much for adults & kids alike.

This semed like the mentality was like " Well, since we're still in Oakland, We have to do something. We're not going to invest any time or money in a real Fanfest & since the guys have to work out Sunday anyway, let's call it a Fan Appreciation Day. And since we know that the fans would be furious with this makeshift event, we're not going to charge them anything.

Oh and by the way, the psoter calendar is of good ol' G..

Yeah, yeah I know there are a myriad of Giambi threads, but mine is focused on my

feelings of betrayal that still linger due to his dissing Oakland on his way out.

"Have You ever been to Oakland?" "When was the last time Oakland won a championship?" by saying this, he validated any negative thoughts that fans nationwide may have said or had about Oakland.

Maybe the rest of the fanbase is totally forgiving or myopic, but there was no excuse for his boorish behavior.

I remember the year that he won MVP. This was before we could vote on line. I remember fans going row by row handing out ballots and waiting for them in order ot make sure that they were submitted.

What's that sound? why, it's the Giambi apologists and the baseball stats guys/girls.

All, I'm saying if that if he is at this year's version of Fanfest and at a Q & A , I will ask him for an explanation/apology. Book it !!!

As a season ticket holder to not just the A's, but the Raiders also, I have access to 3rd deck, endzone ( NOT Mt Davis )seats to the Raiders/Patriots game on Sunday , 12/14/08.

I have extra tickets left over from a group event on my job. These are actually pretty good seats. I am willing to do an AN dicount as I do not want to get stuck holding the tickets. As I stand to lose whatever discount, I give, please understand that I cannot just give them away. However, I am willing to cut a deal to my fellow faithful A's fans who are also Raiders/Patriots/NFL fans at large.

As you all know, this is the return of Randy Moss & the Patriots who need to be booed in the manner that they so richly deserve.

So, let the negotiating begin. The tickets are $46 at face value. And please , if you are able to pay full price don't try to cut a deal just for the sake of a deal. I do have a soft heart for those who wish to go to games and just can't afford to which is one reason why I am dong this.

On another note, I have an extra Zito designed tie, and a pink Breat Cancer day handbag, not the little change purses that they gave away, but the ones that match the green ones, as well as an extra deck of the 2008 A's players cards. The cards released themselves but the thin wrapping but are a complete set. The A's items are free to whomever wishes to give them a home.
