So, i read the fanshot earlier about mobley wanting to come back to play in the nba. While commenting in that fanshot, i decided to make a fanpost because i had more to say on this subject and some videos i wanted to share with the nation. I'de love to welcome him with open arms and even shaun livingston. Both these players were with us when we made the playoffs and made contributions and played unselfishly. I know maybe a parade might be too extreme but I was going to talk to clipper darrell today and see what he thinks about doing something creative to bring back Cat and Livy to reunite with the Caveman. Mobley is always at clipper games and he's always flashing a smile. Livingston wants a chance and i saw him play in washington and he seems to be back to basketball form. He might never be the same again but from what i saw this past season, he's got potential to be productive and washington is just packed at the pg and at every other position available. Maybe not every position but it sure does feel like it the way there taking on contracts and dealing with teams opening up more cap space in order to make a run at LeBron. WSH has livy, wall, arenas, foye and i think boykins as well. I could be wrong. thats 5 players playing the same position. Im in a rush to go somewhere so i dont have time to check their current roster. I decided to make a fanpost with some videos to refresh our minds at wat we had before and wat he could possibly have again. :) So, If this happens, here's what we COULD be looking at. PG - Davis, Bledsoe, Warren, Livingston. SG - Mobley, Gordon, Warren

I had Warren at both pg & sg because i heard he can play both. He already said he wants to run point b/c he wants the ball in his hands to make plays but if we bring back livy, maybe slide him to the two. We could even play livingston at SG or SF due to his height and his ball handling skills. 3 point guards sounds like congestion at the position but with our luck, the injury bug is gonna hit baron davis eventually. I wish i could read into my magic 8 ball and see the future but i cant. I would hate to be the Clipper FO with so many questions lingering right now and possibly the best off-season we've had since 05-06. Not the most productive of course, that award goes to the 07-08 off-season. I know were looking to sign a big FA and we also have smith, blake, outlaw, novak, gooden, collins, brown all RFA as well. From those names, i'de rather have smith than big sofo (whose name i keep hearing come up) and blake for the right price, novak for cheap and everyone else i'll pass on.

 

 

Real quick, in other news, Doc rivers is coming back to boston with his exact words being "I want one more run at the championship with this team" so the dream of having paul pierce come to LA is still there but the window just got ALOT smaller. My insider sources are telling me Joe johnson is leaning towards Chcago while shannon brown & jordan farmar will be opting out of their contracts since they feel they can get more PT or more money elsewhere. I dont see us getting Joe Johnson Because he's not a max player in my opinion BUT he's gonna get a max contract. New York already said to offer him the max come july 1st. Is joe johnson a max player in your opinion? Should we go after shannon brown?

This is an open thread for the clippers vs heat game.....Hey Clipper Nation, its almost gametime and before i forget, We are on a 5 home game win streak and a 3 game win streak overall. So, as the seconds tick down before jump ball, i honestly think the clippers are the real deal now. Only 2 teams to have beaten the past 2 defending champs (celtics and lakers) and those two teams are the phoenix suns and your la clippers. So, let's hope for the best and no close game.....lets hope for a easy breezy win.......but....then again, thats crazy talk, its the "clippers" vs dwayne wade........oops, i mean heat.... :-D

 

btw, last 2 sunday games we've gone 2-0....Last matinee game was against the grizzlies and we all know how that one ended... (22-0 run and quite possibly the loudest the arena has gotten since the playoffs) and against the boston celtics....that one was a sunday game but not a matinee game.... The other day, i was shifting threw old clipper playoffs games on youtube and went threw the clippers 25th anniversary scrapbook i received as a season ticket holder last year and various game programs/guides and started thinking......wat would life be like after ralph lawler and clipper darrell.......one word that comes to mind........Different.......I thought real hard and long about this process.........i know the word different may b bland or for lack of a better term boring but think about it for a second.....Ralph brings home the entertainment if you cant afford to g oto the game (time, money, family etc) and clipper darrell brings you entertainment when you can come to a game! Both these men respectively are icons in their own way and humble kind gentle (not so much giants :-) )......understand that these two phenominal personalities would have sooooooooooooooo much more media if they were representing the lakers but here they are representing the lowly, not big-time, not flashy, def not many winning seasons for a team.....basically everything the lakers arent........we are.....the los angeles clippers......let's take a trip down memory road shall we.......

 

 

 

The other night against the lakers, ralph was saying that he was back in san diego announcing for the clippers but he was also showing kobe bryant's parents some property in the area and he also mentioned that he got a chance to have the league's best player kobe bryant sitting in his lap.....man....i know ralph had no chance knowing wat kind of player kobe would be growing up but to hold on to memories like that and hear ralph talk about em makes me get goosebumps all over my body........ Ralph lawler.......i truly cant find words to describe you.......You are truly a man god has blessed throughout the years with much success and even though the clippers havent had laker type spotlight, you have made the best out of wat the situtation has been these last couple of decades been the bright spot and one of the majoring factors to why i have such a blast hearing you call games with your partner who also is a hoot Mike Smith and just the fact that you always stayed optomistic losing season after losing season, i always wondered how u did it.......Im not gonna tell lies here fellas. i hit a brick wall over the summer the celtics pick up ray allen and KG, i instantly fell in love with the celtics cuz i loved their players as individuals and even more so, they were the hottest team in the nba...... but also bc the clippers were falling......very quickly.....and falling hard.......i become less and less interested in the clippers organization and more interested in beantown.....

 

 

but then there came a point in that season where i said, screw this...and flipped the channel back to the clippers.....I had about 13 years under my belt being a fan and i have nearly enough..........THEN i heard somebody say  "Let's Go Clippers, Let's Go" and thought.....is that a person....or something that blows threw the speakers....and how come i never noticed it before.......either way, its freakin loud......it sounds like a person but thats impossible.....nobody can scream that loud.....IMPOSSIBLE......finally i started paying attention to it more and realized it was a real person after all and not some cheesy recording.......PEOPLE WHO HAVENT MET RALPH LAWLER AND CLIPPER DARRELL, one thing you must know about these two characters.....They are AMAZING INDIVIDUALS!  so loving, so humble, so optomistic and in every sense BEAUTIFUL people who really respect the game, the clippers oganization as a whole and the fans. I look around and different teams have ok announcers, ok mascots and alright fans....but nothing compared to the homecooking we havehere with ralph and darrell........and we should b ever so blessed.....THESE GUYS ARE PHENOMS AT THEIR JOB! RALPH MAKES ME WANNA SCREAM AND JUMP AROUND EVERY TIME I HEAR BINGO! AND CLIPPER DARRELL REMINDS YOU ITS OK TO JUMP OUT OF YOUR SEAT AND ACT SILLY AND DANCE IN THE STANDS ALONG WITH THE CHEERLEADERS AS THEY DANCE ON THE COURT!

 

 

In a city owned by purple & gold for many years, a city that eats, breathes and lives lakers......a city that has high standards every single year.......yea......and then there's the other team.....the other LA team nobody respects.....the one who sells cheap tickets....the team stars would rather pass on going and staying at home....the team that has had 4 winning seasons in 25 years......Ralph has been announcing for 32 years now.....27 of them with the clippers..... i may be wrong and if i am, please correct me and clipper darrell has been a fan for i think 23 or 24 years.....these guys arent one hit wonders....these guys arent looking for the quick buck.....Ralph is wat chick heard was for the lakers......a voice fans from around the globe can recognize and enjoy....winning or losing.....clipper .darrell was offered money to go cheer for mark cuban's dallas maverick's and he was asked by mark cuban himself in the staples center tunnel.....he said he LOVED wat darrell did, wondered if he gets payed for it (which he doesnt) and asked if he would like to get payed for it....in dallas.....of course, an offer like that doesnt get an obvious no unless you have your doubts....so darrell thought long and hard about this situtation and thought of all the possibilities that could have come positive if he would have left....instead, he rejected cuban's offer and stayed here in la....WAT A TRUE CLIPPER FAITHFUL!!!!!!

 

 

i know the decision making had to be hard for Clippe Darrell. Well, life went on and for the most part, the mavericks kept winning and being contenders in the west and and clippers continued losing.....just like every other season that came before that........LISTEN UP CLIPPER NATION, these guys dont get much credit, HELL they REEEEEEALLLY dont get much credit.....at least they deserve SO MUCH MORE and i want you guys to understand that if one of these phenom figures is no longer among us or leaves due to personal reasons, there goes a part of the clipper organization.......I WISH STERLING WOULD DO SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR THESE TWO GUYS. ive meet both people in person and they are so down to earth, its riduculous....ralph signed my shirt along with mike smith (THANKS FELLAS) and clipper D took pictures with me whenever i asked and even when he was eating chicken wings..........YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN MY FIRE TO CONTINUE ROOTING FOR THIS TEAM NO MATTER HOW BAD THE SEASONS GET OR HOW MUCH THE LOSSES STACK UP, I WILL BE CHEERING FOR THESE CLIPS UNTIL I NO LONGER AM ON THIS EARTH! Please Please Please, say hello or hi or watever you can to these two loveable people who are always at clipper home games....and like i once heard, "Never quit your day job".... Mr. Lawler & Mr. Darrell, you too have my blessings and 100% positive reinforcement if you were to ever leave the clippers organization and pursue other business. For a franchise that has more jokes than mama jokes, i'm thankful they picked the right team to root for.......When i think of Why i am a Clippers Fan, i think of the both of you! It's Me....That good luck charm dude....lol Well, i was just as happy as everyone else was about beating the lakers....maybe even more cuz since i had the good feeling all day, i text friends and family throughout the day telling them we were taking over staples center last night....and thats exactly wat we did.....now....i might get some bad heat for this picture but i found this on the laker-clipper thread on silver screen n roll last night so i take zero part in creating this, if you like the picture, send your praises to "PURPLE AND GOLD FOR LIFE" if you dont like it and think it should be destroyed, send all your poop mail to him too.... lol like someone once told me "DONT KILL ME, IM JUST THE MESSENGER BOY" -  HAHAHAHA ok so you guys caught me in a little white lie....i stole that line from beerfest but still, i just had to say it..........Still, i remember reading about kobe bryant wanting to play for the clippers to stay in LA and sterling was willing to pay top dollar but buss got to him and he stayed.....deep down.....my honest opinion, he was going to stay in LA but just not with the clippers   (SPARKS BABY!!!! lol ok im lying again)......it did make good headlines for papers everywhere while the situtation lasted.......I decided to share this picture with my clipper family here on clipsnation cuz one could only wonder how different our franchise would have been if he came to the red, white and blue.....Also, i posted this pic here b/c i respect players who have taken the game of basketball (my favorite sport that has kept me out of trouble with gangs n such) to another level and looked good while doing it. Havent seen a player like his since michael jordan......but b/c it is the lakers and i absolutely dreadfully cannot stand them, i think kobe bryant is hands down is an amazing intelligent phenom of a player and i give credit where credit is due........i dont really like his shady personality aside from bball but love his fiery on the court....exceeeept when he plays us.... :-)

 

And now for the GIANT thank you....i've been such a hardcore die-hard clipper fan that i became a fan i think back in 95-96 season where the clippers were playing the lakers and clippers where up by i think 2 ponts and instead of the tie, nick van exel sped down the court wide wide.....WIDE.... open to lay it in but decided to shoot the 3, missed and game over.....CLIPS WIN. My dad and brother were stunned...BIG TIME LAKER FANS and although, i was a fan of the lakers myself.....i was only like 5-7 and didnt really know any better....seeing how hard the clippers played that game and how dedicated they all looked to win (being the underdog n all), i called them MY TEAM from that point on....im only 21 and i guess i have a thing for underdog teams and players cuz i've always been one myself and i've had to prove to players and coaches over and over again that you should never judge a book by its cover....then i hit the court blowing away people's expectations.....NEWAYZ, so i dont remember that game too well but for all the older citizens on here, if you remember that game, please update me on wat you remember.....cuz i surely dont remember too much......ive been a long time reader and signed up on Oct. 30th and have loved every second of it and i only signed up to defend some chick who was selling clipper tickets for her marketing class......and i got into a lil mischief with a member (not saying any names.......dulcuisEXparis lol.... ) but turned it around cuz CLIPSNATION MEANS ALOT TO ME!!!!!! I feel really really REALLy good about tonight's game. When i feel good about a game, i'm 3-0.... Felt good against denver, boston and philly......i feel good about this one.....it's gonna be tough but we really need to grind it out and play our hearts out if we want to win. So, the back story is Gasol is out for sure tonight with his other hamstring hurting him (different hamstring in the beginning of the year) but artest is back in the line-up....i think he'll b starting...thats wat phil jackson said last night. lakers right now are hurting with odom somewat injured (gastroenteritis), Kobe with his fractured finger, Ron Ron still not 100% but still playable, and walton out for sure with a lower back pinched nerve. As for the clippers, our future franchise player griffin of course (timetable to return jan. 20th) and kareem rush with a torn ACL.  I say somewhat for the lakers cuz there players are still playing threw the pain which i tip my hat off too. Newayz, tonight's score for the game should look a little like this.... CLIPPERS 98 - LAKERS 93. It's tough predicting cuz there could very well be a high scoring affair (over 100) or both teams could lay eggs.... lakers layed one last night but still won and well the clippers....its in their genes to lay eggs regardless of who's playing but I STILL LOVE EM!!!! So, Clipper nation as the hours tick by quickly and both teams prepare for game 2 of the hallway series, what's your prediction on tonight's game..... Whether you have lakers or clippers winning, i wanna know who you really think is taking the victory home tonight (get it?....cuz there both LA teams....no? ok moving on lol) and why..... Mcgrady asked to leave the team to go home, he wants to start. Adelman refuses to start him. So.......should we make room for him here? We tried to make a deal last year with baron.....i know dunleavy is looking into it......i've had mcgrady on my fantasy team since the season opener and yes yes i know he's hurt but i've bean reading up on him since the off-season and checking out his status. He's doing fantastic physically and mentally i think he's ready. i think adelman doesnt want  mcgrady to steal time from developing the young players.  I would so make a deal for him. Houston doesnt seem to want him as much as his value says.....Are we taking a chance on a elton brand/gilbert arenas type situation..........guys with stardom written all over them coming back from injuries.......what do you guys think?

Before i forget or someone else does it, Happy Holidays Everyone! Clippers fans or not, I hope everyone has a wonderful time even though the economy is tough, Like someone on here told me, i think (bestclipfan) Focus on family as times like this were it's important were around family or friends who love us as family! New York Knicks guard Larry Hughes is expected to miss the next two games due to a sprained groin. Hughes, who is averaging 12.3 points a game, was unavailable Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls and is not expected to play Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers. He says he will be re-evaluated on Sunday and does not see the injury as "being anything long."

The problem surfaced last week at New Orleans, and he played through it on Tuesday, scoring eight points in a 94-87 loss at Charlotte.
