It looks like the Big Ten is ready to expand and with the ACC sitting at a paltry $5.6 million per team in television revenue when the SEC counters the decision won't be hard. To keep the league in tact the conference needs to push revenue into the $10 million range.

In light of the recent Big Ten expansion "offers" it appears that the game is on nationally. Swofford needs to pull in money off this tv negotiation if the league wants to remain in tact.

Letting the Big Ten dictate the next step will leave the ACC with Big East leftovers and Conference-USA schools to choose from. If the league gets aggressive they can make the first move.

It looks like the expansion battle could get more intense as the Big Ten ponders going from 11 teams to 12 or 16. If 16 teams is the ultimate goal the ACC needs to make the first move in order to lock up the entire eastern seaboard tv markets.
