Got My TO Workout Bands Today
The UPS girl brought my brand new home workout system to my door today, The Terrell Owens Super Strong Man Set by a company called Bodylastics.
I can't wait to get started.
Actually, as cheesey as the whole thing sounds, the equipment seems to be pretty high-quality. I'm no professional athlete, mind you, but I'm not a workout novice either. I just wore out my Total Gym (which Chuch Norris pitches) after about seven years on it (cables fraying, pulleys coming apart, etc.)
From reading the material I got with these bands, it really looks like the number of exercises you can do with them is limited by your imagination. In fact, from the suggested programs, I'd say it's at least as versatile as the Total Gym, and has the added bonus of being able to ramp up the resistance to ungodly levels.
I'll write again after I get going. Not including a link, because I'm not trying to sell them.
Tashard Choice on SIRIUS radio, 11/29
Choice was interviewed in the afternoon program on the NFL channel, by Jim Miller and Pat Kirwan. Kirwan mentioned having interviewed him several times leading up to the draft, but they had him back on in the aftermath of his 5+ yard/carry performance on Thanksgiving.
Mostly pre-programmed answers, but Kirwan was obviously digging around, trying to get Choice to answer the question lots of us have had. Why haven't we seen more of him thus far? Kirwan asked specifically about his ability to protect Romo in a blitz situation. Choice says that's all good; and in fact says that the 'Boys' runnings backs coach has told him that he has every confidence in Choice's abilities out there on the field. Choice also said Romo was specifically happy with the protection that Choice helped provide.
Will we see more of him now, in order to keep Barber frosty for a playoff run? He doesn't know, hopes so; apparently the coaches haven't told him anything about any of that.
Tank Johnson on SIRIUS radio 10/10
Bruce Murray had Tank Johnson on the "Moving the Chains" program today for a couple minutes.
There was the obligatory Pacman talk, but what interested me was Murray's question about the Dallas Defense, and whether anyone on the squad is happy with how they're playing.
I am not sure I liked Tank's answers. They're paraphrased below, not direct quotes, so take with a grain of salt.
1. This team is 4-1. So we must be playing pretty well. (Wonder where he's heard that line of reasoning before...)
2. Every team in the league plays us like it's their Superbowl, they give it their best shot, and really get up for us in a different manner than they get up for other teams. So, for instance, with Cincy, the fact that it was a desperation game for them, and they really gave it everything they had...and we still beat them...that means we're doing pretty good.
3. People want us to throw one knock-out punch at the beginning of the game and see the other team flat on it's back for the rest of the 60 minutes, or else we're not playing well. But they're all pros, too. They all get paid, too. The bar has been set too high, the expectations placed on us are not realistic.
Also, he said other stuff that I liked better. In answer to the question, tell me about the Redskins game:
1. That game was good for us, in that we learned a lot of things.
2. We are fully up-to-speed, now, on the fact that we can't let up on anyone, or think that we're going to have an easy Sunday.
Bradie James on SIRIUS NFL radio, 4/2
Bradie James was interviewed by Adam Schein (sp?) and Solomon Wilcots (sp?) today, mostly about the Pacman thing. What follows are my impressions about what he said. No links. No quotes. No proof. Just my impressions. Take it or leave it.
What news on Killa?
???....Keith Davis.....???
Wasn't he a free agent? Have I just missed the news about him?
Matt Moore on Hurd and Austin, SIRIUS 12/21
Matt Moore, QB, Panthers, was on Movin' the Chains and was asked about the Cowboy receivers he threw to most often in practice.
Killa on SIRIUS NFL Radio 12/21
Keith Davis followed Matt Moore on Movin' the Chains today (12/21).
Terry Glenn News
According to Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips, Terry Glenn is running routes and catching passes. May practice with the team this week.
Looks like they've actually targetted the Carolina game for a possible return. No way vs. the Eagles they say.
Carl Banks Lovin' on our D
NYG legend Carl Banks was on SIRIUS's "Moving the Chains" show today and gave surprising props to the Dallas Defense.
NYG Pass Rush - The Reality
It's good, but not great. Certainly not phenomenal, like ESPN would have you believe.
Psychic Cowboys Calendar
My 2007 calendar has accurately predicted some things in the first half of the regular season. No, really.
W-L records in NFC EAST
A little tidbit to keep in mind....
Wade Wilson Poll
Wade Wilson is back this week. For the first time all season, we actually have a QB coach.
A. Henry not playing vs. Bills
Per the little scrolling news items on the NFL network...
If I'm Coaching the Rams
If I'm suddenly hired as the Head Coach of the Rams, and given the assignment to prepare for Dallas, here's my plan:
