Patty Mills Dominating Argentina
"Mills remained calm and continued his steady play to score efficiently the whole game, hitting 9-of-15 field goals, 9-of-10 free throws, and 5-of-9 three-pointers. He also collected five rebounds to go with four assists and was fouled nine times"
Does Nathan Jawai qualify as a "banger" who can backup Aldridge? Patty Mills->Jawai connection :D
We need to wash our hands of Aldridges contract
Aldridge, Rudy(Rubio Bait) to Minnesota, Love, Pietrus to Portland(add toughness, inside scoring, better perimieter defense) & Corey Brewer, Martell Webster to Orlando(get younger on the wings)
Let me see some ways you would get rid of Aldridge and get something useful in return. Because IMO, his softness isn't conducive to a Portland Championship
Blazers were near CP3 Trade During Draft/Via Chad Ford
"Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: The Blazers got close to a deal with the Hornets last week that would've sent Andre Miller, Joel Przybilla, Nicolas Batum, Jerryd Bayless and the 22nd pick to NO for Paul before Jeff Bower pulled out of the deal saying that their owner wasn't ready to trade Paul. The trade they made on draft night got them out of the luxury tax, so that's no longer the issue. The issue is whether Paul is no unhappy enough to force a trade. Personally I think the Hornets can do better than that for Paul, but it's a viable deal. "
Hopefully NO bombs and we can wash our hands of Aldridges contract/keep Batum :D
Dennis Lindsey is my pick for new GM
Knows how things in San Antonio work, a similar situation to ours here in Portland. Worked with the Rockets in the 90's... He is a better option then Ferry, Suns are already interviewing him
Draft Kevin Seraphin
We need a backup behind LA(If we keep him), the kid is big, athletic & dominant.
Our Championship PG :)
Oden's Blazer Future.
A contract extension looming on our oft-injured 7 footer. I have read muitliple times "we need Oden for Aldridge to be effective/us to win a championship with Aldridge at PF"... Can we rely on him? In my opinion it would be most shrewd of the Blazers to prepare our team this offseason as if Oden will contribute nothing. Aldridge/Camby our two starting big men but behind them we got real problems. Lets start with LA - Screams from our fanbase of "soft" or "finesse" all year long when we didn't have a single center and Aldridge could still not average 10 boards. We can't expect LA's game to change at this point in his career. He is what he is. So if we continue with him as our hopeful starting championship PF, we need someone with a complete opposite game as his backup - NOT Cunningham or Howard - although I like both of them. Ideally someone who can play center. Someone who relys on hustle & team work, I look to Ronny Turiaf. Would be a great addition for post defense. Ben Wallace is somehow still dominant, would love to see him pulling down boards for us. Birdman - if he didn't have drug issues & whatnot. Camby - Staying on the idea that we are going to count anything Oden gives us as "gravy", Camby is getting up there. We should look for a raw center for which he could mentor. The Bobcats have a player in Alexis Ajinca who barely sees the floor, 7"1' tall, lanky build like Camby. There is also Ian Mahinmi of the Spurs. What do you think?
Blazers Future - Optimist/Pessimist
Take a look at the Blazers roster & think of the future. What side of the fence are you on?

Hear me out Blazer Nation. Camby has had a very long career for a NBA bigman. Great defender/rebounder, excellent passer, high basketball IQ & HE STAYS ON THE COURT FOR 30+ MINUTES.
Oden a great defender/rebounder & showed some promise as a passer. Can't expect him to have nearly as high a basketball IQ at the point in his career, but Camby being around could have a very positive effect on that. His big problem is he can't stay healthy & when he is he can't stay on the floor.
Here is my issue, Camby is a mere one inch shorter then Greg. Yet Greg is 50lbs heavier. Does anyone think Camby could still be playing if he was weighing in at 285 and an inch taller?. Look at David Robinson who came in at 235, same weight as Camby. Greg has said(predraft) that his favorite big man was the Admiral. Although Gregs frame is more similar in my opinion to a Hakeem Olajuwon, who weighed 250lbs - This weight would allow him to run the floor better, stay on the floor longer & reduce the stress on his lower body.
Who gave Greg the idea he needed to be this heavy? What happened to this Greg? The thinner one who stayed on the floor? Its not too late Greg. Put down the meatball sub & slap on the big red knee pads. Camby is a living lesson you don't need to be that big to dominate.
Hire Brad Stevens
I am a fan of the Ducks. But if U of O can't lure Stevens away after the tournament, I hope Indiana hires him. He is a great in state recruiter, been in Indiana his whole life. I'd love to see the Hoosiers get back on the map. That 10 year contract should have gone to Stevens :|
Rudy & The Blazers
With Roy/Batum being our starting 2/3 & Rudy's inability to defend the 1 if he was to play there... I think this offseason we come to a major cross roads with Portlands favorite Spaniard. - The way I see it, we have two options this offseason in regards to how to approach Rudy & his future. - 1) Commit to Rudy. Give him more minutes. Maybe look into acquiring the rights of Ricky Rubio - Immediately making Rudy more comfortable & effective in Portland. The teenage phenom reminds me of Steve Nash on offense with Jason Kidd esqe defense(If he fills out his body). - 2) Trade Rudy, make a move for a wing player who can play good defense, add some toughness with rebounding etc. A few players who come to mind are Mikael Pietrus. Finals experience, plays with Batum in the offseason, also shooting 3's at a higher clip then Rudy this year. Would be a great addition. Dahntay Jones, conference finals with Denver last year, great scrappy defender not afraid to get into the grits of superstars like Kobe or Wade, A Coach K disciple is always welcome in my opinion. Lastly a young fella, Terrence Williams. Great rebounder, excellent passer & a good defender. Played with Roy on the Seattle playgrounds, has been quoted saying "he taught me everything I know about basketball... Except how to shoot".
Commit to Rudy? Or commit to team defense?
Kevin Love to Portland - Yes or no & why.
K-Love would be a great passer, which would really help Roy get some open jumpers? Maybe make a run at the rights to Ricky Rubio Draft Rights to lock up the PG position long term?
What do you NEED for A-Gonz
Theoretically. Throw out the idea that we could keep him at all - Thats a whole different argument. Insead I am asking you to make your prospect wish list(realistic please), in terms of what you would consider a fair deal for A-Gonz. One of the only times a team forced to trade their budding new superstar has benefited, was when the Florida Marlins got Hanley Ramirez & Anibel Sanchez back in return for Beckett(One of the best pitchers in MLB) & Mike Lowell.
