MLB Network now on DISH
I was scrolling through the channels and was surprised to find MLB Network on channel 153. I Googled it and apparently MLBN went live Thursday night on Dish.
I know there are some Dish subscribers who were annoyed at not having MLBN, so here you go.
LAA-SEA scoreboard-watching GDT
After one inning, Seattle is up 1-0 over the Angels. LAA has Piñeiro pitching, which should be fun for everyone but LAA, we hope. Meanwhile, Blake Beavan has a chance to help TEX again by not only helping the Rangers get Cliff Lee, thus making the World Series a possibility, but by making the Angels lose and helping Texas in the standings.
For that, I present this:

Also, when I was searching LL for the Rally Dino, I found where there had been submissions for it, and also submitted was this:

OK, it took me so long to make this fanpost that now it's going intot he bottom of the second, still 1-0 SEA.
Dodgers acquire "Frosty Tips" Rivera from Jays
Marcus Thames DFA'd. Dodgers get Rivera and cash, Toronto gets PTBNL or cash considerations.
ESPN ranks Rangers No. 1
Hopefully this isn't a curse. Yankees were ranked No. 1 last week and dropped 2 of 3 to the Red Sox.
OT: Fresno St. hires Texas men's BB assistant... is he any good?
So Fresno State hired Texas men's basketball assistant Rodney Terry for its vacant coaching position after Steve Cleveland was "reassigned." Link to the story is here.
The main question I have is... is he any good? I figured some people here might follow Longhorns men's basketball more closely than I do. He was also an assistant coach at Baylor in the past. Does anyone know what he was actually responsible for at Texas/Baylor and if he was any good at that?
I'm just wanting to know what we Fresno State fans should expect from this guy. He's never been a head coach in NCAA basketball.
Greinke out for start of season
One rib cracked, another bruised.
What's Keyshawn Johnson doing now?
He's opening up a Panera Bread location in my town.
Dykstra won't face sex assault charges
His maid said he made her give him a BJ every Saturday. She apparently didn't report it until he didn't pay her $2,000 he owed her. Dykstra has said she wants his cheddar to buy drugs.
A's win Iwakuma bidding
It would have been nice to have him, but from what I've read, I'm also not losing any sleep over the Rangers facing him several times a year.
Some perspective on Colby Lewis
It's fitting that Colby Lewis was the starting and winning pitcher in the game that sent the Rangers to their first World Series ever. Lewis' story is a microcosm of the Rangers' story since the end of the 1990s.

It's official: Mets fire Minaya
To the surprise of no one, Omar Minaya and Jerry Manuel are gone. I guess now we'll see if Jon Daniels really does want to stay in Texas.

A-Rod the journalist?
Check out the byline on this story.
Dodgers release Gagne
Eric Gagne was asked for and given his release by the Dodgers.
Sheets today vs Reds: 10 R, 9 ER, 1 HR, zero outs
From the story:
Sheets didn't retire a batter - although Mark Ellis did flub a grounder by Aaron Miles - and the Reds scored 10 runs, nine earned while he was on the mound. A two-run homer by Chris Dickerson chased Sheets, whose spring ERA is over 31.00. (Petaluma's Jonny Gomes also had a two-run double.)
Garrett Olson lit up by his college team
The article doesn't say how long Garrett Olson was on the mound in Cal Poly's alumni game or whether he was the starting pitcher or a reliever, but he gave up a three-run HR as part of a six-run first inning for the current team, which went on to beat the alumni 19-13.
Dodgers re-sign Padilla

Angels announcer Rory Markas dies
The Angels just let Phys and Hud go in favor of other announcers, including Markas. He had returned to the booth this past year after a blood clot in his brain in 2008.
Rangers claim INF Joe Inglett on waivers
Claimed off waivers from the Blue Jays... hit .281/.347/.348 in 99 plate appearances for the Jays this year while playing right field, left field, and second base... hit .360/.422/.516 in 186 AAA plate appearances.
Pirates, Dodgers, Braves, A's after Kameron Loe
WHY?!?!?!?!?
"Back in November of '08 the Rangers sold Loe's rights to the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, who paid him $900K. He pitched only 27 innings, posting a 6.33 ERA."
Vizquel to ChiSox for 1 year, $1.375M
1 year, $1.375 million, backup infielder (same job he had here).
