So I guess now we won't ever get to hear Josh Lewin's "Hungry Like the Wolf" references anymore. But at least now if Millwood doesn't give us a complete game, we'll have someone available to pitch a few innings.

Per Grant:

"Anyway, RHP Willie Eyre, as expected, was placed on the DL after aggravating his groin strain. RHP Luis Mendoza has been promoted after going 2-0 with 10.1 scoreless innings at Triple-A Oklahoma. Mendoza walked six, but struck out 13. PCL opponents have hit .108 against him. He hasn’t pitched since last Sunday, so he’d be available for long relief tonight.

Just to recap your Rangers bullpen, it now looks like this: RHP Frank Francisco (closer), RHP Jason Jennings, LHP C.J. Wilson, LHP Eddie Guardado, RHP Luis Mendoza, LHP Derek Holland, RHP Darren O’Day."

A plea for AJM to not watch any more games

In Sunday's game day thread, AJM said he was leaving and was going to stop watching the game to spare himself the pain.

Then, the Rangers scored two runs in the eighth and then Young hits a no-doubt walk-off on the second pitch against Farnsworth in the ninth.

This is a plea for AJM to not watch any more games this season. That's better luck for us than any rally taco or red uniform.

From the story: All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada has been charged with lying to Congress about an ex-teammate's use of steroids, the latest baseball player to get caught up in a web of cheating and juicing that has stained the sport. Tejada is expected to plead guilty in court Wednesday. The charges against him were outlined in documents filed Tuesday in federal court in Washington.
