The Phinsider Lousaka Polite - AFC Pro Bowl

Hello everyone,

I'm a daily reader of The Phinsider and a Miami Dolphins season ticket holder.  Matty does a tremendous job here and we are all very fortunate to have such a great fan community.  I'm crafting this post to request all of you to take a few minutes of your day to Click This Link and vote for Lousaka Polite's admission to this year's Pro Bowl.

Lou, as Coach Sparano affectionately refers to him, is by far one of the hardest workers on the team, has over come many difficulties, and by all accounts has proven himself to be an incredible fullback.  Has everyone seen his lights-out block on Bart Scott during our "Orange Out" MNF home game against the Jest back in early October? (Click Here if not).

Bolts From The Blue An open question from the Dolphins community.

If you were us, would you suggest we take a crack at Chambers, or is he too far gone at this point to be of use. I'm afraid our roster is already very crowded and I'm not quite certain who would lose their gameday action, but at the very least I wonder if we ought to PAY to have Chris come mentor our youth for the remainder of this season and possibly (depending on performance) the next season...

Seems like a pretty decent turn of events if Chambers can produce.. Not like he would have stiff competition from our WR lineup    :/

Thanks

The Phinsider INSIDE: EVIDENCE THAT THE WILDCAT IS JUST A GIMMICK!

This year alone, up to the BYE, our WC has produce 318 yards on 38 plays (2 TDs) -- 8.37 YPC !

What a gimmick, we should can it right now!  Obviously we just disrupt our quarterback when we switch to this formation...  What a bunch of hot garbage. The truth is, we switch into the WC to disrupt the rythym of opposing DEFENSIVE FRONTS. Our 22 package Monday night (2 TE, 2 RB) ALONE was beating the hell out of the PETS, and when we would line up in our 22 BASE WILDCAT they were just taking a beating. Even coach sparano said by the 3rd quarter you could see some of their guys were getting tired of the physical nature of our game, and they weren't committing to the run stop as well....

I LOVE IT.

(THOUGH I AM A BIT AFRAID OF WHAT OUR LOSS OF COBBS COULD DO HERE, WE NEED HILLIARD TO GET HIS RUN BLOCKING IN GEAR)

Behind the Steel Curtain [Fantasy] Cadillac Williams for Hines Ward???

Hey guys,

I have a chance to trade Hines Ward for Cadillac Williams, until tomorrow night. The guy in my league says maybe the trade will be good after this weekend, but if Williams looks stellar he'll want more than Hines Ward.

Anyhow, I'm in a Dynasty league where we start 1TE, 2RB, 2WR, and 1 RB/WR flex, here are my current players:

RB:   Marion Barber, Ricky Williams, Justin Forsett, Michael Bush, Jerome Harrison

WR:  Greg Jennings, Hines Ward, Kenny Britt, Steve Smith (Panthers), Wes Welker, DeSean Jackson

TE:   Vernon Davis, Owen Daniels

I like the idea of Cadillac, his age vs Hines Ward's age is good, plus he looks like Tampa's starter. But this knee injury is scary, I don't want him if he's going to be riding pine 60-70% of the season (or EACH season!)

What would you do !?!?!

The Phinsider WILDCAT SUCCESS in 2009

Does anyone know our rushing stats for yards gained out of the Wildcat alone? I have friends trying to argue the cat is already dead in 2009, but it seems like we're getting tons of yardage out of it... I know alot of folks in town are complaining that runs out of our base-formations aren't meeting the expectations of the highly paid O-Line...  Is it really true? If so, how many games should it take for the OLine to build chemistry!? When do we know if an investment is failed?

The Phinsider A Note about Jake Long getting "Plowed"

I don't know if anyone else saw it, but for what it's worth, John Abraham actually came at Jake Long with his head down and speared him helmet to helmet (Top of Abraham's helmet into lower portion of Long's face mask). It popped Jake's helmet back into his neck and caused his legs to buckle. This is actually an illegal defensive maneuver and it clearly wasn't called by refs.

He was not plowed over by typical arm-to-arm combat. I was not in front of a TV when he gave up the second sack, so I can't comment on it. However, in the first half I thought Jake actually looked quite good against JA, and the commentators did as well. It wasn't until that helmet-popup-crack that Long was shaken up and the commentators really started praising Abraham.

Anyhow, I'm much more concerned about Vernon Carey's Passblocking, and the whole OLine's lack of push against a smaller, faster DLine. Typically in matchups of Power vs. Speed, the Power line wins against the run while the Speed Line wins against the pass. Hopefully our new O-Line coach from NYG will get these guys situated, or at least be honest with the trifecta about which members of our O-Line aren't worth the Paycheck. We've got too much cash invested in these guys for that kind of performance to EVER be permissible.
