I didn't get home from work until the 3rd period was already underway. Because of the craptastic market I live in, I couldn't even get updates on the game during my 1 hour drive home. I frantically turned the TV on and tuned in VS. to see the game.

It was like getting hit with a sledgehammer. I couldn't believe the score was 3 - 0 Caps. I called a friend and asked him what happened. He told me about Callahan hitting the post, the Caps scoring on the resulting rush, the penalties and all. I watched the rest of that period, but I was just numb the rest of the night.

To paraphrase quote a myriad of characters from any George Lucas film...Going into game three..."I had a bad feeling about this..." Now JRS will tell you that's not unusual for me. I never thought the Rangers would sweep the Caps. I was, and still am, expecting the split at the Garden. Game three wasn't meant to be. Now let's move on to Game 4 and get back to smart Hockey.

Tynes??? I don't get it. Yeah, Carney is 72 years old, and his kicking shoe is older then a couple pair of Jim's undies, but he's still outperforming Tynes.

Tynes had his best season ever last year, and Carney (Again 72 years old) is outperforming him. Carney's KO's are still longer than Tynes. Carney has only missed 8 PAT in a 23 year career, to Tynes 6 PAT misses in a 4yr career.

It can't be only his age, because kickers of Tynes ability are a dime a dozen. I just don't get it. Somebody, please tell me why they are even considering keeping Tynes over Carney?
