UFC on FUEL 3 - Free Pool
Story lads. I was in the pub last night with Bons (Tap or Snap Bons) and he forgot about the fights tonight. He's going home, back to England from Ireland, today so I don't know will he get to a computer in time. So I told him I'll do the reminder just in case anyone else forgot to make their picks for it.
I know you all know how to make picks but just in case, here's the link. http://www.mmaplayground.com
I need Maniacs advice please
What's the story lads? I know I'm not known on this site as a regular. I don't post that often but I'm always on reading the stories and comments. Lurking some might say.
I'm looking for a bit of advice from some Maniacs that mighta been in my position before. As you can tell from my screen name, I'm Irish. So I get to watch all the UFC's on ESPN over here. I know that annoys some Americans and Canadians as ye've to fork out for every event but that's besides the point right now.
I'm off to Vietnam tomorrow for 6 months. On the eve of a fight I've always wanted to see. Speaking of the BJ/Diaz fight. I remember having it as my sig for a long time, a long time ago. It has been a dream match up for years. For us in Ireland and the UK (pretty much all Europe actually), UFC main events start at 2 a.m on a Sunday morning. The prelims and what not are obviously before hand. Sometimes I might miss a couple of fights cause I'll be in a bar or club so I'll stream em the next day or catch the replays. But I hate watching replays. It's never the same buzz.
So watching the fight I've wanted to see for years, as I've stated already, via low quality is gonna be annoying. But it'll havta be done as I'm flying during fight time. I'm looking to avoid this for future events though. So, I was just wondering has anyone been in Vietnam, or Asia, for the events and know if bars over will have the events on live?
Brian Ebersole cartwheel kick finish video. Don't mind the crap music, just appreciate the quality of the kick.
Maia 2.0 Vs Sonnen 2.0?
Demian Maia and Chael Sonnen have already crossed paths with Maia finsihing Chael with a sweet triangle choke. Remember, it was Maia who took Sonnen down with a sweet ass trip. Sonnen was baited and transitioned to a triangle choke, forcing Sonnen to tap out at 2:37 of the first round. This accumulated to Maia getting, yet another well deserved, Sub of the night
Since then, Sonnen went on to win 3 consecutive UDs against Dan Miller, Yushin Okami, and Nate Marquardt. All 3 fights were convincing, controlling and dominating wins. The only trouble he really faced in all 3 fights was the guillotine choke applied by Marquardt, the cut sustained due to a Marquardt elbow ( but that elbow was received while Sonnen was in top position though) and maybe a few sub attempts from Miller
While Sonnen has been convincing, Maia has been less than. Maia went on to fight Marquardt after beating Sonnen. He was quickly KO'd within the first half a-minute of the very first round. He rebounded with a (less than stellar) UD win against Miller. He proved he wasn't all BJJ and showed he had some MMA skills
Now, I'm not one to agree with MMA math, but as I said before, it can't be ignored. Sonnen dominated an up-and-comer in Miller and contenders in Okami and Marquardt. While Miller boringly (and far from convincingly) beat Miller and got KO'd into next week by Marquardt
So Maniacs, Maia 2.0 Vs Sonnen 2.0. Does Maia get another sub, or does Sonnen learn his lesson and control this fight this time round and possibly finish him? Let your answers be known and maybe give the how the outcome was achieved in the comments
Worst judging decision?
I'm bored watching the Superbowl and just decided that I'd like to give the whole 'creating a fanpost' thingy a shot. Hope I do it write and it gets some sort of reaction going. We've been moaning about the bad decisions in MMA for years upon years, and yet it seems like no change is being made at all. We've all got our opinions on how ruling should be viewed, but the keyboard warriors are being ignored by the commissions. Shocker I know. I just made this to see what people think was the worst decision they've ever seen. So here goes
Most of the fights will be from UFC cards as I've not seen much Pride fights (except for youtube) or other promotions. But I will mention ones that I've seen, and a few I haven't. I'll do the usual and leave the last option as, 'other' for ones people feel I've left out
