Stephen Jackson catches on the wing and faces up against Vujacic. When Jax looks down and sees Vujacic, his eyes light up. He pulls out his nine, screams "Thug Life" and empties the clip, then drives in for a basically uncontested layup.

Should Dubs go into Celtics mode?
After seeing the success that the Celtics had with basically trading everything on the farm for proven vet's, I think a lot of teams around the league will consider what they have right now and maybe what they can use in upside/youth to get proven vet's for that short window of oppurtunity most teams never see. Salary wise this obviously isn't going to work because it hinges on what AB/Monta will be signed for, but assuming they're going to both make atleast 10 mil starting out the trade could be done, this is more of an idea that I'm just floating out there since it's rumored that the Heat possibly thought about trading DWade this offseason and now it's rumored they might be willing to deal the #2 pick since Beasley is basically Marion. Normally I would be completely against trading any of our young guys but this could give us a shot in the West. There are 2 separate trades to make it work salary wise...
Trade 1
Warriors trade
Andris Biedrins/10-12 mil
Monta Ellis/10-13 mil
Brandan Wright/2.5 mil
#14
Heat trade
DWade/13 mil
Shawn Marion/16.5 mil
2nd round pick
Trade 2
Wattriors trade
10 mil trade exception
Heat trade
Marcus Banks/4 mil
Warriors roster
Baron Davis/Marcus Banks
Dwayne Wade/Marco Belinelli
Stephen Jackson/Kelenna Azubuike
Shawn Marion/Al Harrington
Al Harrington/Kosta Perovic
Obviously that isn't enough players to fill out our bench but with that rotation right there we would get vet's flocking to the Warriors who want a chance at a title. Obviously we would need some big man help, which is why I would like to see if Blount could be thrown in that deal but he has 3 years left starting at about 8 mil a year but he would more than get the job done. Seeing our 3 youngsters being traded away stings but the thought of us trotting out that line up makes me salivate at the possibilities. Another downside to this trade is the durability of BD/DWade and the fact that BD and Marion are going to be FA's next year, if something like this were to go down I'd hope to sign them for 3/4 more years. I know this isn't likely to happen but can you imagine how scary that team could be if it were to be assembled. This also helps the Heat immensely because they are getting 3 players who can step in and start as well as being able to use their #2 pick on Beasely who is basically Shawn Marion but at about 1/4 of the cost.
The Yi trade rumor.
As I'm sure many of you know it's been reported on ESPN.com that the Warriors are said to be trying to make a serious run at Yi. ESPN reports that the Warriors have floated out the idea of BWright + 14th pick for Yi. If we are even considering that trade I will no longer be a Warriors fan until we can get a real owner/front office, here's why...
I understand a lot of people who post here are all for the Yi movement, I'm assuming because most are Asian-Americans who would like to see him move to the bay and play in a Dubs uniform, which is completely understandable, but if you take a look at it from a basketball stand point Yi isn't what the Warriors need. He's a PF who shoots, plays soft, is an avg. rebounder and from what I've seen not a very good defender. Do we really need another one of those on our team? I can positively say that the answer is no. Also, does anyone actually know how old he is? For all we know he could be 24/25 and already reached his potential at what he's going to be.
BWright is still young and somewhat raw but when you watch him play you can't help but giggle at the thought about how good this kid is actually going to be. He has the length and versatility to guard 3's, 4's and in some situations 5's. He has the length to defend the rim, which is something we sorely need, we can't rely on AB every game to be our only plus defender of the paint and on the boards. He can even step out a ways and hit a jumper, which would also keep the defense honest and from what I've seen already, he looks like he would be able to develop a nice little jump hook which with his length would be vitually impossible to block, he could just be the answer to our low block scoring woes while being able to stretch the defense a bit with his jumper.
What I'm saying is it's absolutely ridiculous for the Warriors to even swap BWright for Yi, let alone throw in our 14th pick, especially when we're going to need bodies on our bench and for the future. The only reason I can honestly even begin to fathom the Warriors contemplating this trade is because of the high population of Asian-Americans in the Bay Area which would make him a market gold mine. If that is the case and this trade does end up happening, I'll be getting rid of every piece of Warrior gear I own and find something else to spend my money on, because if they can give up BWright for a marketing ploy to make more money, well I'm not going to be one to support them. The J Rich trade hurt to see but it made sense because they were doing something to better the organization but this literally would make no sense.
Am I off my rocker or does this make sense to everyone else?

To draft or not to draft, that is the question.
So with the Dubs being out of the playoffs and no games to look forward to until November, what better way to pass the time then discussing who the Warriors should take in this years draft. No I don't mean Kevin Love or Psycho T, even though he's staying at UNC, which is good because I could honestly see us drafting him. That'd be just like the Warriors to potentially be on the cusp of something great and they go and waste a pick on an end of the bench type player.
Also, just because the ESPN draft machine spits out a name it doesn't mean we should take take him and just because you go look at a mock draft it doesn't mean we should take that person either. There are a few 1st rounders who I think could step in and help the Dubs right away and possibly a few 2nd rounders who would fit well with the Dubs, these are in no particular order...
1st rounders
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Chris-Douglas-Roberts-506/
Chris Douglas-Roberts - SG/SF - He has the ability to play the 2 or 3, he's 6'7 but plays bigger because of his wing span. Also if you read his scouting report on DraftExpress, he's top 5 in scoring among SG prospects, 3 point%, FT attempts, PER, true shooting % and he also values possessions and don't turn the ball over much. If that's not enough for you, he might have been the best perimeter defender on one of the best defensive teams in the country.
Although was ranked high among SG prospects in 3 point and true shooting %, he didn't have many shot attempts but that can be worked on with with Moncrief in practices, we'd be drafting him for his defensive abilities and his knack for getting to the rim.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Chase-Budinger-502/
Chase Budinger - SG/SF - Simply put, if we're going to jack up 3's all game we might as well draft somebody who can knock them down and no Belinelli isn't a good shooter, one summer league doesn't count. You don't believe me? Go look at his stats from years past, he's average at best. We'd be drafting him for one reason and one reason only and that's to shoot the 3.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Marreese-Speights-1183/
Marreese Speights - PF/C - To be honest I have a bit of a man crush on this guy. I think we're not too bad off on big men but I really don't know why this guy isn't projected as being a lottery pick. You want a back to the basket, low post scoring threat who is a beast on the boards, well here you go. He's also athletic and quick and I think he could really thrive in our system. Here are his PER 40 minute averages from this year at Florida, 25.5 points, 14.2 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 64% shooting. There are a few downsides, he's not strong defensively but he still rebounds well. There have also been effort problems with him but I think on a team with leaders like BD, Jax and Nellie that it wouldn't be a problem. He'd be able to give AB, Al or Wright a break and since Wright is a tweener at the 3/4 we could also have him spell Captain Jack. So we'd be getting another big body that would allow us to also use Wright differently in certain situations.
2nd rounders
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Shan-Foster-434/
Shan Foster - SG - Once again, we'd be drafting this guy for one thing and one thing only and that's to shoot 3's. He shot a ridiculous % at Vandy last year. He shot 47% from behind the arc at a clip to of almost 4 a game, 3.9 makes out of 8.4 attempts to be exact. Like I said about Budinger if we're going to jack up 3's like we did this year we might as well try to draft somebody who can make them. I'm not sure he'll last to our pick in the 2nd round but if I were the Warriors I'd try hard to get this guy. He could be someone who steps in right away and contributes.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Bill-Walker-552/
Bill Walker - SF - Walker is a freak athletically, he's a slasher, he's explosive and he's got the ability to absorb contact and finish at the rim, much like we see Monta do. He doesn't have a very perimeter oriented game but that's ok because we need somebody who can slash and finish other than Monta. He's also an excellent defender, which is again the main reason why I'd like to take him, we need more ball hawking type defenders who are relentless.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Joey-Dorsey-456/
Joey Dorsey - PF - Once again, I think we have enough big bodies on our team but Dorsey brings the one thing that all of them lack, a presence on the glass. He's a potentially low risk high reward pick. When I think about what he could do for us to help clear the glass and start our break it makes perfect sense to get him in the 2nd round if he's still around. Think of a freakishly athletic, relentless defender of the paint in a Warriors uniform. Most of his offense comes from offensive rebounds but he wouldn't be asked to score, he'd only need to really concentrate on the defensive end and offensive boards, think of a freak of nature Paul Millsap type.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jamont-Gordon-290/
Jamont Gordon - PG/SG/SF - Although he was versatile enough to play 1-3 in college he'd only be a PG/SG in our system. The reason I love this guy so much is because he is a huge PG, 6'3/225 lbs. Does that sort of size remind you of someone? It should, his size is comparable to BD. Having a big strong back up PG would allow Monta to cross match much like this year where he is guarding the PG and BD is guarding the SG. The main reason to draft him is because of his defensive ability, and to cross guard the SG position and his ability to create for others, he's one of the best shot creating guards in the NCAA. He also averaged 6.3 boards a game, which we can use all the help we can get. He has poor shot selection though and likes to jack 3's at a clip of 30%, if we can get him to pull a Monta and stop shooting 3's he'd be a great pick up for us in round 2.

BD Fanhouse interview - Tony.PSD repped in it.
I thought this was pretty sick, Miss G from AOL fan house interviewed BD, most of it was about BD and his beard but she also gave a shout out to fearthebeard.org, and our very own Tony.PSD from GSoM. It's nice to see Tony get some love for all the work he puts into contributing his amazing work to this site, keep it up my man. I can't embed the video but here's the link if anyone is interested.
ESPN: Daily Dime - Nice ME8 piece.
I was making the daily rounds of ESPN and they have a break down of the remaining schedule of the top 9 Western Conference teams, which by the way, I think we have the 2nd hardest schedule left of the top 9. It also has a nice piece on Monta Ellis and how he says that Wright is going to be the next Chris Bosh, which gets me even more excited about this kid. Anyways if you read ESPN you know the Warriors don't get any love on there so it's nice to see them as well as Monta get some recognition. Check it out...
2 Dubs trades Bill Simmons would like to see
It's pretty interesting to see the trades he comes up with the for Dubs, both involve giving away Wright and have them getting back Artest and AK-47, plus you gotta love his reasons why the Warriors would do it. It would be nice to see AK in a Warriors jersey but it would wreak havoc on our salary cap situation but it would be one hell of a team. As much as I hate Mark Cuban I wouldn't mind having him as the owner, atleast we know he'd spend money the extra money for an amazing product, not that the Dubs aren't amazing right now but AK-47 puts them on another level.

OFFICIAL: Kidd to Dallas complete
Just saw it flashed across the screen on ESPN while watching the Mitchell Report BS. Anyways this is huge because I think it takes Dallas back to the head of the pack in the West. They lose Harris, which I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad I won't have to see his flopping more than twice a year from now on. Looks like the Nets also get Ager, who could be a nice piece and also picks and cash. I guess the Nets will buy out Stackhouse and he'll be able to resign with the Mavs in 30 days. I'll post links as soon as I get them.
Thank you GSoM
To the guys that run GSoM, you guys do a great job with this site, whether it's the daily updates, GSoM nights at the Oracle, the free ticket give aways, the interviews with the other blogs and all of the other things you guys do that make this site great. I know that there have been complaints about keeping the diaries cleaned up (my complaints included) and I'm sure there are various other things people complain about. In light of all those things I rarely see anyone give you guys the props you deserve for keeping this site enjoyable for us Warrior faithful. It takes a lot to keep a site with this many members going strong, especially if it's not your full time job, just something you enjoy doing. I'm sure there have been many times where keeping this site going has cut into your personal time and I'd just like to say thanks for all you guys do here to keep GSoM going strong, this is always my first stop in the morning and I seem to come back what seems like every 30 minutes to check out the new stuff. So thanks again for all you guys do and keep it up.
Bynum done for 2 months
He hurt his leg last night in the 3rd quarter win over the Grizzlies. I think it's pretty significant since he's a vital piece to their team and the Lakers are going to be one of the teams we're going to be fighting for a playoff spot. Sucks that he's hurt cause he was having a great year but it betters our chances of a playoff spot.
Hollinger Playoff Predictor - Warriors are 4th
I was making the usual rounds and came across a new system Hollinger has and it's for calculating the odds of a team making the playoffs. They basically simulate the rest of the season, 5,000 times I think and then they add up all the geeky stats and such and I was quite surprised when I looked at it and saw the Dubs 3rd in the WC with a 99% chance of making the playoffs. It's kinda cool to look at but in the end doesn't really mean much. Here's the link for anyone who wants to take a look at it.
Kobe trade coming soon? Lakers, Bulls and Kings
They just had a breaking news report that a trade fell through that would involve...
Bulls get Kobe
Lakers get Ron Artest, Ben Wallace
Kings get Ben Gordon and I believe Kwame Brown
The reason I bring this up is because this would change the landscape of our division drastically. Improving the Kings and possibly the Lakers, which means there are playoff implications. It seems like there will have to be a 3rd team involved if a deal goes down and it looks like Sac is a legit 3rd team because of the willingness to part with Artest. The only thing holding up this trade is the amount of money owed to Ben Wallace. It now looks like a trade is going to happen, it just depends on when. What do you guys think this potentially does to our division if Sac becomes a key player in the Kobe trade scenarios, Martin and Gordon could create a hell of a young back court, potentially setting them up to be a playoff threat.
Random: Scrap the D-League?
I was reading one of the diaries and it was talking about the D-League and how each team is only allowed to send 2 players down at a time and in order to be sent down they have to have 2 years in the league or less. BTW, DL = D-League/ML = minor league, so I don't have to type them out a bunch.
It kinda got me thinking about what if we were to scrap the DL and disperse the players into a sort of minor league system for the NBA with some sort of draft. I think this would be a lot better for the teams/league than the DL is. DL teams operate on their own and don't answer to any NBA franchise and this could create problems, if it hasn't already. Players can be taught different ways or bad habits by coaches not affiliated with any NBA team, putting in a ML system would give the ability to the front office of every NBA team to implement the type of system they play and to choose a coach of their liking that they want.
I think this would over all raise the level of play in the NBA because players would be acclimated to the way certain teams play and it would also expand the talent pool teams are allowed to pick from. It would allow teams to draft and develop talent within their own franchise. The NBA draft could be expanded to 4 or 5 rounds. Some people will say that there isn't enough talent to have a ML system but I don't think that's true. There's young talent all over the place but people just don't get to see it because most rookies are relegated to the end of the bench. Just on the Dubs roster alone we have Wright, Lasme, Perovic and POB who would benefit greatly from playing in the ML system. POB would possibly be farther along in his maturity if he were playing night in and night out in a ML system instead of being called up and down from the DL for his whole career.
Team's would be allowed to call up or down as many players as they choose, whenever they like. There have been a ton of kids who have entered the NBA too early and have ended up being chewed up and spit out because they weren't as good as they thought they were, this would give them a place to play as well as players who need coaching and playing time to get better.
I think most people have a view of the DL as a demotion of sorts, like it's a relegation because you aren't good enough. I think it should be thought of as a way to develop talent, not banish it.
GSoM fantasy basketball
I've created a league for anyone who will be active the whole year and won't quit half way through. The live draft is set for this upcoming Saturday at 4:45 PM.
league ID=110580
PW=barondavis
I need 300 characters and apparently I'm not there yet so I'm going to predict that the Dubs will win 50 games this year and end up with the 5th seed in the West.
Video: BWright dunk from last game
Just thought some of you might want to see some video of our very own rookie in action. He stuffs it down on a 7'2 center from whatever that team was called we played last.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceIzRGMuHOs
You can really see his length in this video, he really is freakisly long. He had the 3rd widest wing span of anyone in the draft at 7'2, only a half inch behind Oden and an inch behind Durant.
IDEA: Who to start at QB?
EDITOR'S NOTE - 4:55PM - Now's as good a time as any for QB suggestions. Whether Dilfer is your guy, or you have some wild suggestion, let's hear what you've got. You can assume Smith will be out for a few weeks or he's done for the year, doesn't matter to me. We're all just spit-ballin here.
Well, it's a slow Wednesday and I'm just now recovering from the embarrassing game last Sunday against the Seahawks. I think it's safe to say that we have the most inept offense in the NFL and with Alex Smith going down and the season teetering on the ability of Trent Dilfer, I'm not too comfortable about our position. A big part of the reason our offense has been so bad is because our O line couldn't block anybody to save their life. On one side we have Staley, who's a rookie and on the other side we have the vets Jennings and Allen who aren't getting any younger and have been beat more often than not this year. Atleast Alex had somewhat of a chance because of his athletic ability but Dilfer has never been known for his quick feet and now at the age of 35 (I think) he's less nimble than he's ever been.
This is where it gets a little wacky, you're either going to call it a genius idea or contemplate my sanity, which most of you will probably take the latter option.
We all saw how bad Dilfer was, he couldn't make a play to save his life. So I was thinking about who else we could start. What if we were to start Michael Robinson at QB? Crazy, I know, but could he really be worse than Dilfer? Robinson, our 3rd string RB barely gets any burn but he does have experience playing the QB position, that's the position he started at for Penn St. back in college. We all know how bad the O line is and starting Robinson would give us a mobile QB which we need if we aren't going to scrap our O line. He already has some grasp of the playbook and he could start learning it this week and during our bye week so that would give him almost 3 weeks time, which is about the amount of time he'd need.
This is just some random thought I came up with, I know it would be an unheard of move in the NFL but I honestly can't see him being any worse than Dilfer. This is assuming that Alex Smith is going to miss a good chunk of time with his shoulder injury, which by all accounts is in the realm of possibility.
Do any of you think this scenario could work or do you think I've completely lost it?
DOWNLOAD: Mavs Vs. Dubs - Games 1-6
I don't mean to be a diary whore but there was some discussion a couple months back about people wanting to download the series against the Mavs. While I was browsing looking for some info I came across this site and they not only have the Dallas series but they have selected games from the season and highlights also. I'm in the process of downloading the whole series, it looks like each game will take about 10 minutes to completely download, assuming you have Cable. Enjoy.
HELP : Mladen Sekularac a Dub?
So, I was just browsing RealGM.com and this guy happens to be listed on the Warriors roster but I can't find anything about us signing him. There is some history behind this guy, apparently he was drafted by none other than our very own Nellie back in 2004 and he was included in the trade that sent Dampier to Dallas. He's a 2nd round pick and has been playing ball over in Yugoslavia. From the few articles I could find on him he seems to fit the typical player Nellie likes, 6'8, quick, athletic and can shoot the ball. Nellie, at the time seemed to be really high on this guy so it makes me wonder is there something in the works between the Dubs and him. Has anybody else ever heard of him or heard anything about him possibly playing for us?
News - Penny Hardaway signs with Heat
I'm watching ESPN and they just reported that Penny Hardaway has just signed with the Heat. Again, I'm baffled at why all these old cats are coming out of retirement trying to make a come back. Reggie Miller, Allan Houston and now Penny, at this rate, we'll be signing Tim Hardaway soon. Penny, originally drafted by the Warriors, had game back in the day but he had his career cut short by injuries. Do you think this does anything for the Miami Heat other than sell tickets?
I'll try to find a link ASAP and post it here.
OT - GSoM fantasy football?
I usually do fantasy sports every year and I usually end up doing the public leagues where it's hit or miss with people who actually decide to do the whole season. I figured if enough of you want to do it I'll create a league where the GSoM faithful can get together and play. Just let me know if you guys are interested and whether you'd want a live or auto draft. If we do a live draft I was thinking about sometime on Sunday. Also it would be through ESPN.

[Moderator's Note, by OptionZero:] Heads up to everyone that there is a second league started by Zorgon. Information in his diary here.
I believe the first one may be full.
Reggie Miller to the...Celtics?
I was just browsing espn.com and came across this article on the front page. I guess Ainge and Doc Rivers called Reggie to see if he'd come out of retirement and join the Celtics trio of all stars. It would be in a reserved roll but I don't really know how good he'll still be at the age of 42. I don't really see the point in this move considering they have Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, they're going to take up a big chunk of the minutes at the 2 and 3. I think they should be focusing on brining in some younger, more durable players instead of guys who haven't played in 5 years. How about calling Tim Hardaway to see if he'll come out of retirement, afterall they do need a PG.
Here's the article for anyone interested...
Warriors vs. Sonics game thread/7:30 PM
I thought I'd make an open thread we can post in for whoever ends up watching the Dubs game on the webcast through NBA.com. Here's the link to the scoreboard, all you have to do is click "watch" when the game starts. I'm looking forward to see how Belinelli plays and also to see how Kevin Durant looks. Enjoy and go Dubs.
Magic S/T with Sonics for Rashard Lewis official
Well, Rashard Lewis got his max deal from the Magic via S/T with the Sonics. He's now making 110 mil/6 years. This move probably makes the Magic more relevant now in the Leastern Conference. However, it got me thinking, is Lewis really that much better than J Rich was? He had his career scoring avg. last year with 22.8/game. For someone being almost 7 feet tall he doesn't rebound well at all. Just seems like he was grossly overpaid to me but that's the Magics problem now. He should compliment Dwight well though since they really needed an outside scoring presence. Now if Jameer Nelson would ever develop they'd have a real shot at taking the East. The Sonics got a conditional 2nd round pick and a 9 million dollar trade exception.
Do you guys think the Magic have a legit shot now to come out of the East?
Here's the article for anyone who wants to read it...
Dubs vs Sixers game thread.
For anyone interested in watching the game, here's the link. Sign up for NBA.com and click "watch". It's free so no worries, here's the link...Go Dubs
Nelli unhappy?
I was browsing ESPN and I came across this article on the front page, I'm kinda surprised no one has posted anything about it yet. Basically Nellie's salary is in the bottom half of the league and he wants to be paid more money so he's near the top of the league. He's paid 3.1 million a season but he's asking to be paid around 6 million. There's no doubt that I think he deserves a lot, but what's the whole point of signing contracts anymore because it seems like a lot of people don't honor them.
Yi mania 5PM today/Game thread
Is anyone else going to watch team China against the Cavs today? It starts at 5PM and I thought I'd watch it to see exactly the hype around this kid.
On another note, Oden had 13pts 5 boards and 9 fouls in 27 minutes today. Over his first 2 summer league games that gives him 19 fouls, that's pretty impressive. I know it's summer league but he's fouling a ton. I wonder how long it'll take for him to adjust on defense.
Leon Powe to the Dubs?
I was browsing insidehoops.com, like I do just about everyday and I came across an article pertaining to Leon Powe and Glen "Big Baby" Davis. It was talking about how they were super physical against eachother in practice. It also said that Powe has a non-guranteed contract for this year. It also said how they may or may not be enough room on the roster for both, depending on if the Celtics get another big man. This is what got me thinking, I think Powe would be an excellent fit in the Warriors system. I was really hoping that last year we could have stole him in the 2nd round. He's exactly what we need on our team, he's 6'8, 240 lbs and can be extremely physical. He could provide that toughness off the bench and the ability to grab boards that we so sorely lack.
Now, the Warriors have two project big men in POB and Perovic. POB is probably the more attractive piece to the Celtics because after all he was a lottery pick last year and some people think he does have some upside. However, in the system we run POB could be deemed useless. He may or may not turn out to be a decent center one day but I don't think it'll be with our team. The Celtics on the other hand might have some use for him. This is where I bring up the scenario where we send POB to the Celtics for Leon Powe. It seems like a reasonable trade that both sides would be willing to do.
I assume Powe makes less than a mil a year since he has a non guranteed contract and POB makes around 2 mil a year so I don't think absorbing the salaries wouldn't be that much of a problem for either team. This is just random thinking of players who I think have a good shot at being useful to us and another way to shed ourselves of POB who will most likely never make a solid contribution to the Dubs.
What do you guys think?
For anyone who wants it, here is the link to the article I was referring to...
http://celtics.bostonherald.com/celtics/view.bg?articleid=1009904
Yi for Wright?
I was browsing over insidehoops.com and it appears the Dubs might be interested in sending Wright along with someone else to the Bucks for Yi. It seems like if you are even associated with the Warriors your name isn't safe from trade rumors, unless your name is BD. I'm not too sure if I like this trade for the Dubs, I would rather see Wright develop than trade him for Yi. It's also safe to say that if we do trade for Yi the KG talks will officially be over seeing as how we wouldn't have enough pieces to make the trade work. Here's the link, it's down towards the bottom of the page.
Random thinking involving trading B. Diddy
I was just watching ESPN and they've had all day that Billups has opted out of his contract and it got me thinking if the Dubs could trade Diddy, which he seems poised to do the samething, and sign Billups to a bigger deal, I think the Dubs might be better off. They could probably get Billups for less than the 89.9 million BD is asking for, plus Billups doesn't exactly play with a faulty body. Don't get me wrong I'd love to throw cash at BD but with his history of injuries, it's too risky to tie that much money up in him. This is strictly just food for thought and it's probably not even possible because of our cap situation. What would you guys do? Billups is a bigger PG who I think could run the Dubs offense pretty well and keeps us being pretty productive as well as him being a solid defender.
Salary cap
It seems like 80% of the people here are for dumping J Rich and his salary to try and move up in the draft. I think a lot of us are forgetting or are unaware of BD's contract situation. He's already making noise that he wants a max extension. BD is signed through the 08-09 season but he can opt out next summer. I don't think giving BD all that money is a smart choice for the Dubs. Don't get me wrong I love BD, he makes our team go but he's so injury prone and it's probably only going to get worse as he gets older.
With that said, it seems like a bunch of our key players are going to be due a big pay day soon in BD, Ellis and AB. I think BD will pull what Arenas is doing with the Wizards and take the money elsewhere. So getting rid of J Rich so soon might not be a great idea because after next summer he might be the only real scorer we have left on our roster if BD walks and Ellis isn't resigned. Either way it seems like we're in cap hell and sooner rather than later is our current roster going to be completely blown up because we can't pay for all the pieces we have.
Team of destiny.
This Golden State Warrior team, OUR Golden State Warrior team is not an ordinary team. We didn't make the big season move for nothing. We didn't go 16-5 down the stretch to stumble miserably in the 2nd round. We didn't win 9 out of 10 to end the season all for this. For a series in which we had the upper hand in 3 of the 4 games. They said we couldn't beat the Mavs. We were too small, no experience, a bunch of outcasts thrown together to assemble something that resembles a team.
Everyone has us for dead, we have no chance to come back from 3-1 against the Utah Jazz. Well my friends, I beg to differ. This is just another step in our modern day Bad News Bears meets Major League. We ARE going to win the next 3 games in this series. We will advance. We will prove everyone wrong once again.
This season is not over, not by a long shot. You can mark my words we will prevail and move forward into the WCF. Warrior fans everywhere, young, old, long time or new, we must believe, we do believe. This is our motto, this is our team, this is our destiny.
