I think the preseason game in Cedar Park is perfect. It draws a crowd in from the local area to see the amenities and get a taste of what will be there, and it will draw in Stars fans from outlying areas and Dallas for the same reason. If only it were televised, then all would be right in the world. The Dallas Stars 2009-10 NHL Regular Season Schedule should be released next Wednesday (July 15th), so keep a look out for it next week for more information.

[Note by Brandon Worley, 07/09/09 4:02 PM EDT ] I've added a countdown clock on the left sidebar, tracking the time left until training camp begins. Camp will start on September 12th and will be held in Frisco.

Defending Big D Dallas Stars RFA News

[Note by Brandon Worley, 06/29/09 10:28 PM EDT ] Thanks to JCWM2 for posting this news. We'll have an in depth look at the Stars' roster, UFA/RFA situation and budget concerns tomorrow morning.

According to comment made by Mike Heika on his blog, the Stars have given Mark Fistric and Aaron Gagnon both qualifying offers, while John Lammers has not, and Tobias Stephan was said to be "out of the picture". He also mentioned that Chris Conner is considered a Group VI UFA.

Group VI UFA - 25+ y/o player with 3+ professional seasons and less than 80 games played (28 for goalies).

This definitely helps set my mind at ease when it comes to the status of Mark Fistric and the Dallas Stars.
