Hi- my name is Jason Guerette, but you can call me 'JP' if ya' want.

I am a recent graduate of Seton Hall, and have followed the Pirates religiously for about five years. I also love the game of basketball, and am an aspiring sports broadcaster, so I tend to take a total approach to analyzing Pirate hoops.

I seek to bring perspective and game analysis to "The Juice" from not just a fan standpoint or a broadcaster standpoint, but from the standpoint of an avid fan and supporter of the greatest game ever invented- Basketball.

You can follow me on Twitter (@JPGuerette) as well for more discussion on whatever sports story is on my mind. It's listed as my website below.

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 68, Wake Forest 54

It wasn't pretty, save for one player's performance, for Seton Hall, but thanks to the Pirate D, it wasn't pretty for the Demon Deacons either. Seton Hall improved to 8-1 on the year (number of...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 78, NJIT 48

It ended up what my colleage here at SOJ called a "snoozer," but it was a close game throughout the first half, and the Pirates trailed the NJIT Highlanders for a time. But the Pirates recovered...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview- NJIT

Ok, let's be perfectly honest with ourselves- this should be an easy win for the Pirates. But just in case you needed some more on the Highlanders, here it is! NJIT 2011-12 record: 3-4 All-time...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 81, Auburn 59

Wow.What else can you say about Seton Hall's 22-point, good old-fashioned BEAT DOWN of the Auburn Tigers? The offense? Great! The defense? Tremendous! The students? Speedo-rific! Here are the 5...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview- Auburn Tigers

After some time off to get back into their routine, the first "Power-6" Conference opponent of the year comes to the Rock for a primetime 9 PM tipoff in the Auburn Tigers. This is also the second...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 63, SPC 54

Saint Peter's has a knack for giving the Seton Hall Pirates some frustrations on offense. Tonight was no different, as for the third straight year, St. Peter's gave the Pirates fits in terms of...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview- St. Peter's

Coming off a nice bounce-back win over Yale on Tuesday, the Pirates look to follow up their turkey dinners with a nice roasted Peacock dish, as they host longtime in-state rival St. Peter's at the...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 73, Yale 62

In what was my first game on the radio for WSOU this season (with many more to come!), the Pirates used a nice run in the second half to pull away from the hot-starting Yale Bulldogs and get a...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview- Yale Bulldogs

Coming off a 2-1 showing in Charleston, the Pirates embark on their long homestand beginning tonight when they host Yale at the Rock.  Here's more on the Bulldogs for your reading pleasure: Yale ...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- Northwestern 80, SHU 73

All losses are rough to some degree, but this one may not be as rough as it seems. Yes, Seton Hall got a career-night from Herb Pope and still lost the game. Yes, they had a very real chance to win...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview- Northwestern

If you're Coach Willard and the Pirates, this is really all you could have hoped for when you came down to Charleston- a guaranteed winning record in the tournament. Also, the Pirates have a shot...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 78, SJU 70

First off- what an entertaining game. Gotta give credit to both teams on that. Second- what tremendous resolve by Seton Hall in the second half. The Pirates hunkered down and fought like crazy for...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview: St. Joseph's

No rest for the (possibly) weary here as the Pirates have a very quick turnaround following a feel-good win over VCU. Tonight they go for a shot at the right to play for the Charleston Classic...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 69, VCU 54

Well how about that, huh? Seton Hall defeated VCU on Thursday night at TD Arena in Charleston to advance to the winner's bracket at the Charleston Classic along with Northwestern, Tulsa, and St....

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's Game Preview- VCU Rams

The Pirates rode their senior point guard to an overtime victory over St. Francis (NY) in a game they had to earn. Now they ship down to Charleston for the weekend to participate in the Charleston...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- SHU 75, St. Francis (NY) 71 (OT)

That was too close. But I’ll take it. After a dreadful first half in which nothing went well, the Pirates somehow shook off a dagger three-pointer that put St. Francis (NY) up six points late,...

Seton Hall Basketball: JP's 5 Thoughts- Blue & White Scrimmage

Ah, do you smell that? It's the smell of freshly-varnished wood and pebbled leather balls nestling into nets made of nylon. It's the smell of basketball season, and it has arrived, ladies and...
