Official Greg Oden Nickname Thread!

We can't let New York have all the fun with Zach and Eddy (I chose EZ money as a good nickname for them), we have to come up with a daring and creative nickname for the newest Blazer. Its a heavy responsiblity, I know, but I think we are up to the challenge.

Feel free to throw any idea out there, I'll start it off.

an alternative at SF

I will go on the record and say I have no idea about whether this guy is a free agent or what kind of money he is making, but....

How about Matt Barnes?

Pros:
Would love to start
Shoots threes, good handle
Doesn't need to be the main guy

Cons:
Too wild for Nate?
Will have plenty of suitors if he is available

Anyways, I find the prospect, however realistic, intriguing.

Your thoughts?

Off season priorities

Barring the draft, but including everything else, what are the most important moves the Blazers should make in the summer?

I think the filler question is favorite dessert.  It so happens I have two.  One is this cake my mom used to make called Crazy Cake.  And the other is Blackberry Cobbler.  I slobber when I think about them.

thoughts on Detroit game

First and foremost, I loved LMA's game tonight.  Thats two nights in a row of double digit rebounds and he is murdering teams on the off. glass.

The matchup with Sheed was intriguing if for no other reason than the similarity of styles.  But LaMarcus has a long ways to go yet.  He scores off of

  1. Turnaround J's
  2. rebound and putback
  3. freethrow line J's
He doesn't face up and take people of the dribble, ala Bosh.  And he doesn't have a polished back to the basket game, ala Duncan and Brand.

Another thing I noticed is that Nate ran a high screen and roll with Fred E. Jones and Outlaw that worked well two consecutive plays in a row.  Outlaw has developed a somewhat consistent J and Jones has just enough handle and athletic ability to keep teams honest on this play.  Anything that allows the second unit another viable option in the halfcourt is a good thing, because they struggle when a team has good transition d.

LMA= starting center? Inquiring minds want to know

We've seen him score thirty, we've seen him pull down double digit rebounds, will we see him in the starting line up at the five spot next year?

One of the things that drives this for me is that the Blazers are not going to get the first or second pick, so no Oden for us.  One thing about there being so many high rated bigs this draft is that some NBA quality swing men are going to drop down to where we could get them, so lets say we draft a under-rated SF type instead of a project big, do you think LMA can hold the fort at center?  Talk amongst yourselves

The Outlaw Trout

One media type labeled him as one of the Blazers untouchables. So, what do you think, will Outlaw be a Blazer next year? If so, what should his role on the team be.  If not, why not.

I go back and forth on this daily.  He has shown some flashes of brilliance, some games have been positively pedestrian, and some games he has been a total non-factor. I just wanted to know if other people feel of two minds about our man Travis.
