Dawgs in the draft
With a little more than a handful of players in this years draft and possibly 3 first rounders what are your thoughts?
Where do you think they will land?
Where would you like to see them land?
Most importantly where do you hope they don't land?
Along the same thought line what about other SEC players?
Who will be the biggest bust (Cam perhaps)?
Who will perform at all pro level (A.J. perhaps)?
Undersigning - Internet Anonymity
Having survived Ranger100 I started wondering about the significance of his sign in name. Did it reveal anything about his quirky approach to debate or was it more sinister or perhaps code for Captain Chaos. Thankfully I will not have the opportunity to ask him directly (many thanks Podunk).
That thought quickly evolved into what significance could be attached to any sign in name - so here we go.
Some of you sign in with your real name some like me with our initials and some with names that cripple my aging brain. How about it - what does your sign in name mean - how did you come up with your handle?
Over Signing - The Real Deal
Based on info from Rivals I compiled the following. I started with 2002 and ran through 2011 (the only data available). You math whizzes can take the numbers and extrapolate what ever makes your boat float. The bottom line - over signing does not guarantee championships (or even winning records) and every school finds itself short on players at some point and signs more than the ethical limit. Sorry about the misaligned cols - computer challenged here.

Worth a Look
AJ blows the lid off - 12 touches - 326 yards - 5 TD's - against Col.
Well one can dream can't they. I'm curious what you guys think. Will AJ have a career game? Will he provide a spark for our otherwise miserable offense or will he just be part of another disappointing effort?
I'm going to let my optimistic side take over my rational side and predict AJ will not disappoint. The offense will move the ball up and down the field - scoring at will.
What say you?
How bad can it get?
After a few ugly losses I'm sitting here wondering - How bad can it get? We have lost two games to very good teams (based on their continued better than average play) and a under rated MSU team.
Looking at the Mark Richt body of work I have confidence (albeit guarded) he can right the ship. That being said and he gets the Bulldogs bowl eligible can you imagine how badly our red uniforms will clash with that blue turf?
That my fellow Dawg fans is an ugly visual.
Gators get a quick jump
on the Fulmer Cup. Evidently the Gators are miffed by our dominance in the recent Fulmer Cup race and have decided to fight back by getting an early lead on next years award.
According to the Gainesville Sun, starting wide receiver Chris Rainey was arrested early Tuesday morning and hit with a charge of aggravated stalking. The alleged victim is a woman Rainey has been dating off and on for somewhere in the neighborhood of three years.
Gainesville police told the paper that the incident began when the woman missed a call from Rainey after falling asleep. Based on the police officer's account of the ensuing events, that didn't sit well with Rainey.
Officer Jesse Bostick said Rainey went to the woman's home, and she talked to him for about 10 minutes and then told him to leave. According to Bostick, Rainey sent a text to the woman that said: "Time to die." The woman called police after receiving the text.
Bostick said that when he arrived at the woman's home he told the woman to call Rainey so that he could talk to him.
The woman said that when she told Rainey that police wanted to speak to him, Rainey's response was, "Wait and see what happens when they leave."
In case you missed the CTG interview this morning
I really like this guy. He says all the right things in a very matter of fact way.
A possible side benefit of the TG hire……
For the past two years I have sat on the edge of my seat waiting for that little yellow flag to emerge from my peripheral vision. Before the flag settled to the ground I would hear that all too familiar “Personal Foul” (fill in the number) unnecessary roughness – late hit – roughing the QB on the defense.
WTF – why did this happen over and over? We have aggressive players – big hitters if you will. Players that want to flatten opponents. That aggression turned into frustration when they couldn’t make the big hit because they were not in the proper position or the scheme failed them.
After reading the press conference notes from CMR & CTG I think I see the light. Aggressive play will be our hallmark just as we have seen in the last two years. The difference – the players will be coached and put in position to make aggressive plays. We will have a scheme that allows success. I think will see a HUGE drop in personal fouls rooted in frustration.
Now a word or two of warning to keep you grounded. This is coming from the keyboard of a nitwit that saw UGA as the sleeper in the East. A nitwit that saw UGA defeating the hated Gators. A nitwit filled with visions of JC completing 65% of his passes (to our own players). A nitwit that thought we had as good a group of LB’s as anyone in the country.
This nitwit now has visions of a season so devoid of yellow flags he will think he has gone color blind. This nitwit is pumped…………..
