Jets say they're going to "knock-out" Reggie Bush

4

Jets keep running their mouths. Said they were going to hurt Bush last time, and did. No consequences from el commish. Saying they're going to take him out again. Glad to see you're taking the fight to the other 31 teams Roger.

More "bounty" hypocrisy...

I know this horse has been beaten enough, but I needed to vent. First Rex Ryan talked about hot sauce for Reggie before this Sunday's game, then Pace's comments (original link: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/09/24/calvin-pace-we-had-to-put-reggie-bush-out/). Love the last line from Florio about this being a routine play and nothing more should be made of it. Whattttt?? The entire fuss over the Saints' alleged system was supposedly about the intent, not the results (aside from allegedly lying about the system entirely). If the Jets' coach and players are talking about trying to hurt someone, why does it matter whether or not they've succeeded? I've been told all summer that my team and it's coaches were obscene, hideous monsters because of what they supposedly intended to do, even though they were almost entirely unsuccessful at injuring players (assuming that was their goal). Now, all of a sudden it's okay to openly tell the media your plan is to "put some hot sauce on him (Reggie)" and chuckle about it? Unreal.

An Entertaining Pre-"Bountygate" Article

(You may have already seen this, or you may have seen it when it was first written and thought nothing of it.) I'm to the point where I'm ready to just get past the whole "bounty" ordeal. However, someone in the comments section of moosedenied posted a link to this article, and both Florio and the comment section gave me a good laugh so I thought I share. From Florio: "Hall isn’t saying anything that football players don’t already think. Especially at the quarterback position, any opportunity to knock the starter out of the game should be embraced." And I love all the "this happens all the time" comments. They must all be Saints' fans... I know loads of people have pointed out that the Giants were targeting players on the 49ers, and no one aside from Saints' fans really seems to care. Just another log on the fire.

A Little Cap Space to Carry Over

1

This may have been brought up in another post somewhere (or it may be common knowledge, and I'm just behind the times), but I found this pretty interesting. This is the article on the main subject, but if you click on the link within article, it shows the Saints can carry over more than 4 million to increase next year's cap. It's not the 20 million of some teams, but as we're all worried about how we're going to secure all of our free agents, every little bit helps. Makes me feel a little better about being able to retain more than just Brees.

More Sproles Love

Still slightly miffed by Reggie leaving (why is potential so enticing?), I stumbled across this article today. It's a great, quick read, but here are the bits that blew me away: "In 78 NFL games, Sproles has produced nearly 10,000 all-purpose yards. Bush, in 60 games, has less than 5,000... Sproles, 5-6, 180-pounds, has started only five games in five seasons but that belies his true value. Since 2007, no NFL player has matched his 8,260 all-purpose yards." I'll miss you Reggie, but the fact of the matter is that this truly is an upgrade.

TC Sheriff

Totally random, but I saw the back of a Travis County Sheriff's car (Austin, TX) today, and it said "TC Sheriff" on it. For a brief instant, I thought the Chop had deployed agents to clean up the...
