APC Mock Draft- Complete!
Roger Goodell walks to the podium to announce the next pick.
With the thirty-second pick in the APC Mock Draft, the New York Giants select...Kevin Zeitler, OG Wisconsin.
That concludes the Daily APC Mock Draft. There were a few head scratching picks, but that's what happens when you have a hundred people all voting for one specific player. I hope you all enjoyed it, but more importantly enjoy the real draft!!!! If you didn't enjoy it, then I don't know why you bothered to vote and comment! : )
APC Mock Draft- The New York Giants select...
Roger Goodell walks to the podium to announce the next pick.
With the thirty first pick in the APC Mock Draft, the New England Patriots select...Mark Barron, SS Alabama.
The New York Giants are on the clock.
Needs: OG, TE, OT, FS
Recent Free Agent Signings:
Keith Rivers- ILB (trade)
Sean Locklear- OT
Martellus Bennett- TE
APC Mock Draft- The San Francisco 49ers select...
Roger Goodell walks to the podium to announce the next pick.
With the twenty-ninth pick in the APC Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select...Donta Hightower, ILB Alabama.
The San Francisco 49ers are on the clock.
Needs: WR, OG, FS, CB
Recent Free Agent Signings:
WR- Mario Manningham
WR- Randy Moss
QB- Alex Smith (re-signed)
San Francisco is in a nice spot here. Their biggest needs are at WR and OG. They could even go with a CB like Gilmore for luxury. They don't need a Safety by any means, but Barron would be an asset. After signing Moss and Manningham, OG is the biggest need. However, this need can be addressed at the end of the 2nd Round. I think this selection has Stephen Hill written all over it. Hill fills in a huge need, provides size, a deep threat, and most importantly for the Niners, a WR that can block for their running game.
APC Mock Draft- The Green Bay Packers select...
Editor's note: Jabooty's been doing a great job with these. I decided to promote the Packers one to the front page.
Roger Goodell walks to the podium to announce the next pick.
With the twenty-seventh pick in the APC Mock Draft, the New England Patriots select...Whitney Mercilus, OLB Illinois.
The Green Bay Packers are on the clock.
Needs: OLB, DE, SS, C, CB
Recent Free Agent Signings:
DE- Anthony Hargrove
DE- Daniel Muir
C- Jeff Saturday
Targets in the 1st Round of the 2012 Draft
As draft day draws near, we are all scrambling to find 'our guy' at the end of the 1st Round. Some of us have 'our guy,' while others are still indifferent about several players. Of course there is nothing wrong with having an open mind about several players. Nobody can argue that our biggest needs lie in the Front 7. We need another pass rusher at ROLB and a DE that can pressure the QB. Does that guarantee that we will pick a DE or OLB in the 1st Round? I highly doubt that's the case, so lets take a look at a few guys we could target in the 2012 NFL Draft. I will use CBS Sports Prospect Rankings Chart for the value of the players.
APC Mock Draft- The Cleveland Browns select...
Roger Goodell once again races back to the podium to announce the next pick. This Mock Draft is going quicker than the beer in my fridge.
With the third pick in the APC Mock Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select...Matt Kalil, OT USC
The Cleveland Browns are on the clock.
***Keep in mind, you are voting for who you think the team SHOULD draft, NOT who you think will be drafted.
The NFC Playoff Race
With Week 12 in the book, it's time to see how the playoff race is shaping out. Before we jump into quick predictions, lets take a look at the contenders: Falcons, Saints, Giants, Cowboys, Lions, Bears, Packers, and 49ers. We'll take a look at each of the contenders remaining games and make a prediction as to how the remainder of the season plays out. Each week this will be updated for accuracy.
Ask Acme Packing Company
Hello Colts fans! I'm Jabooty from Acme Packing Company reaching out to answer any questions you may have about the Green Bay Packers. Obviously, the score of this game will be meaningless, but we can get a better idea about the direction our team is in and share thoughts.
I've been somewhat curious about Jerry Hughes, because he was one of the guys I liked in the 2010 draft. I know he struggled in the few opportunities he had last year, but he also hasn't had many chances and is sitting behind two incredible pass rushers in Freeney and Mathis. So, how has Hughes looked so far this Preseason? What are your expectations on him this year? Will he get more opportunities or will he continue to keep the bench warm?
That's all I really have for you off hand. Lets hope for an injury free Preseason Game, because I'm sure we are BOTH still sick of the injuries we had last year. So ask away guys and hopefully more Packer fans will join in.
Please Rec'd so this post stays up longer. Thanks guys!
Analyzing the DL and LB's
After another typical draft of surprises from TT, I feel it's time to take a look at our new additions through the draft and figure out how they will contribute. The big question mark is how long will the 2011 Season be: 16 or 18 games? If the season is extended to 18 games, one would think that the 53 man roster limit would be increased by a couple players. Lets go ahead and assume that we have to maintain with the 53 man limit and figure out how to get everyone on the roster.
Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State #32 Overall
Just bringing in a report from Mocking the Draft on Sherrod, along with some youtube clips of him, and a link to an analysis of him from Srohman.
Daily Acme Packing Company Community Mock Draft- Complete!
The 32nd pick is in. Roger Goodell steps up to the podium to announce the selection. "With the 32nd pick in the 2011 APC Mock Draft, the Green Bay Packers select....Cameron Heyward, DE, Ohio State."
Daily Acme Packing Company Community Mock Draft- Green Bay Packers
The 31st pick is in. Roger Goodell steps up to the podium to announce the selection. "With the 31st pick in the 2011 APC Mock Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select....Aaron Williams, CB, Texas."
This is a good pick that addresses a big need. Pittsburgh's secondary needs all the help it can get.
Mock Draft- 1st Round with Analysis.
|
1. Carolina - Blaine Gabbert (QB, Missouri)- Although I think this is a mistake because Gabbert will be thrown into a tough situation, Carolina is desperate for production out of the QB position and isn't too fond of Jimmy Clausen's lack of leadership skills. |
|
2. Denver - Marcell Dareus (DT, Alabama)- Personally, I think Denver should get another playmaking DE in Da'Quan Bowers to compliment Elvis Dumervil. The pass rush would be relentless, and they can always get someone like Paea in the 2nd Round. However, they go with DT Dareus early and hope he works the same kind of wonders Suh did in Detroit last season. |
|
3. Buffalo - Cam Newton (QB, Auburn)- Buffalo is just one of those teams that will surprise you every year in the draft. Here they bite on Cam Newton in hopes of developing him while they start Fitzpatrick. Perhaps Chan Gailey can get a spread offense to work here in Buffalo to better suit Newton's experience and ability. |
|
4. Cincinatti - Nick Fairly (DT, Auburn)- Cincinatti goes after a penetrating DT. They've made a lot of high draft picks at DE in recent years, so I don't think they will do the same here. |
|
5. Arizona - Von Miller (OLB, Texas A&M)- No surprise here. Arizona needs an upgrade at OLB. They need a young pass rusher that is relentless at getting after the QB. Von Miller fits the bill. |
|
6. Cleveland - Da'Quan Bowers (DE, Clemson)- Certainly Cleveland needs a #1 WR, but with the best overall pass rusher still on the board, they go with Bowers. In the 3-4, Cleveland struggled to generate a pass rush. Switching to the 4-3 will be the same unless they upgrade the DE position. With an early pick in the 2nd Round, I would expect Cleveland to target a WR. |
|
7. San Francisco - Patrick Peterson (CB, LSU)- Talk about a dream come true scenario for San Fransisco. Not only do they get perhaps the safest pick in the draft, but a playmaker at the CB position. This is a no brainer from a value to need pick. |
|
8. Tennessee - Robert Quinn (DE, North Carolina)- Tennessee looks to rejuvinate its once dominant defensive line by taking the once upon a time star pass rusher in Quinn. Had Quinn played last season, he may have been a Top 5 pick. |
|
9. Dallas- Prince Amukamara (CB, Nebraska)- I expect Dallas to trade down here to draft an OT, but since this is a Mock, that's hard to do. If Dallas maintains with this selection, I see them upgrading the CB position with Amukamara. |
|
10. Washington - AJ Green (WR, Georgia)- It's rather remarkable Green fell this far. Washington is desperate for a #1 WR with size and speed, and Green provides both. Green will instantly upgrade the Redskins passing game. |
|
11. Texans - Aldon Smith (OLB, Missouri)- Houston needs help in the secondary, but they would be reaching for a CB at this selection. Considering the switch to the 3-4, they look to add another pass rusher. |
|
12. Vikings - Mike Pouncey (OG/C, Florida)- Here's a surprise pick for many, largely because he is a reach at this selection. However, Minnesota isn't content on investing in any of the QB's at this selection. They have a major hole at RG and Steven Hutchinson is getting old. They look to add youth and talent at the interior of the OL. |
|
13. Detroit - Tyron Smith (OT, USC)- Detroit could use an OT here. Although Smith played RT at USC, some feel he could play LT in the future. LT Jeff Backus is ok, but he isn't special and he is catching up in age. RT Grosder Cherilus has been an overall disappointment. |
|
14. St. Louis- Julio Jones (WR, Alabama)- The Rams get a solid WR and weapon for Franchise QB Sam Bradford. Their OL is set, they have a solid RB in Jackson, but they could use some weapons in the passing game. Jones is a good pick here. |
|
15. Dolphins - Gabe Carimi (RT, Wisconsin)- Most people are expecting Miami to select Ingram. Sporano decides to improve the running game by upgrading the trenches first, then grabbing a RB later in the draft. RT is a major concern in Miami for run blocking and pass protection. The combination of Jake Long and Gabe Carimi at OT sounds too intimidating for Sporano to pass up on. This will instantly improve Miami's Offensive Line and run blocking, which took a hit last season. |
|
16. Jaguars- Ryan Kerrigan (DE, Purdue)- Minus Aaron Kampman, this team has trouble generating a pass rush. Add in the fact that Kampman is coming off another unfortunate ACL tear, Kerrigan provides insurance. The opportunity for Kerrigan to come in and continue to learn from Kampman is an excellent investment for Jacksonville. |
|
17. Patriots - Anthony Costanzo (OT, Boston College)- NE gets the hometown boy in Costanzo. Matt Light is catching up there in age, and even if he is signed for the short team extension, Belichek thinks towards the future and drafts Costanzo. |
|
18. Chargers- JJ Watts (DE, Wisconsin)- Watts with the Bolts. This is like peanut butter and jelly. It just doesn't get any better than that! Watts will provide an upgrade at the DE position and will help bolster the pass rush. |
|
19. NY Giants- Nate Solder (OT, Colorado)- The G-Men get some OL help with Solder. |
|
20. Buccaneers - Cameron Jordan (DE, California)- Jordan will instantly improve the pass rush. The continued investment in the defensive line will help in rushing the passer and stopping the run. |
|
21. Chiefs- Phil Taylor (NT, Baylor)- This draft does not offer much for 3-4 NT's, and the Chiefs need to upgrade this position. NT is perhaps the most important position in the 3-4 defense. Unless they decide to trade for a NT, they have to get their man here at #21. |
|
22. Indianapolis- Derreck Sherrod (OT, Mississippi State)- Manning needs help, and this is a clear need right now. Polian doesn't ignore the LT position this year. |
|
23. Philadelphia - Jimmy Smith (CB, Colorado)- They couldn't fill a need at OT, but they are able to fill a need with good value at CB. |
|
24. New Orleans - Mark Ingram (HB, Alabama)- Miami's pass on Ingram led to his drop to the mid 20s. New Orleans doesn't have a lot of needs, but they do need help at running back. Ingram provides help, and it's rather fortunate the Saints can add a Heisman Trophy RB with one of the best QB's in the league in Drew Brees. |
|
25. Seahawks - Adrian Clayborn (DE, Iowa)- Seattle would like to get a franchise QB, but with Clayborn still on the board, they feel they can hold off until the 2nd Round. Seattle does need to improve its pass rush, and will get help here. With Locker, Ponder, and Mallett still available, I expect Seattle to target one of them in the 2nd Round. |
|
26. Ravens - Brandon Harris (CB, Miami)- Baltimore could use some help in the secondary. This defense could use some help if they want to keep one of the best defenses in the league. |
|
27. Falcons- Justin Houston (DE, Georgia)- Atlanta brings in hometown boy Houston to improve the pass rush. Abraham is still good, but is catching up in age. Houston and Abraham on the edges next year sounds intimidating for opposing offenses. |
|
28. Patriots- Cameron Heyward (DE, Ohio State)- The Pats continue to stack up in the trenches by going on the defensive side here. Heyward should help improve the pass rush. |
|
29. Bears- Jonathan Baldwin (WR, Pittsburgh)- This may be a surprise for many, but with no OT worth selecting here, Chicago decides to bring in a #1 WR for Jay Cutler. They could go after a DT here with Muhammad and Liuget still on the board, but Cutler has been awful against the Packers the past couple years. If Chicago wants to continue to contend in the NFC North, they have to be able to beat the Packers secondary. They bring in a big target in Baldwin and provide a new toy for Cutler. |
|
30. NY Jets - Akeem Ayers (OLB, UCLA)- The Jets look to improve their pass rush by selecting an OLB. |
|
31. Steelers- Danny Watkins (OG, Baylor)- Pittsburgh needs help at OG and go after the best remaining OG in the draft. |
|
32. Packers- Brooks Reed (OLB, Arizona)- GB could go DE here with Liuget, Paea, and Wilkerson still on the board. However, Ted Thompson drafted DE Mike Neal in the 2nd Round last year, and Neal looked promising as a rookie before getting injured. The Packers take a different direction by getting the best pass rusher remaining on the board. |
If the Packers never existed
Well, it's the Offseason. Not just any Offseason, but one that is overshadowed by a frustrating labor dispute. So out of complete boredom, I decided to think of a scenario in which the Packers never existed. A scenario in which Wisconsin does not have a professional football team. What team would you root for?
Ask a Packer Fan!!!
Hello Giant fans! I'm Jabooty from Acme Packing Company, and I'm here to answer any questions you may have about our upcoming and very important matchup this Sunday. Both of our teams have really struggled with injuries. I believe you have 15 guys on IR and we have 14, along with several other critical players injured and just plain out for this game. RE Cullen Jenkins is still unfortunately out again this Sunday, so I'm a little worried about your running game. I wouldn't look too much into our Run D stats because it is skewed by mobile QB's, but if you want to in order to get your hopes up, by all means go for it! Without Jenkins and Clay Matthews still playing hurt, I'm worried but confident in our ability to stop the run. I just heard Aaron Rodgers is good to go this Sunday, so that's good news for us.

Green Bay controls its own fate
Even after a presumptive loss to New England later today, the Packers are in control of their quest in reaching the playoffs. A loss to New England isn't a good thing, but it isn't horrible either as it's a Non-Conference loss. What really changes things is the Lions got the monkey off their back by winning their first road game after losing 26 straight. Congratulations Detroit Lions! Not only did they get the monkey off their back, they gave us a huge victory against fellow Wild Card chaser Tampa Bay Bucs. Not only did the Bucs lose, it was a conference loss at home. Also, big props to Desean Jackson on the game winning punt return for a TD. I just had to step away for a bit when the Giants were punting the ball, thinking the game would go into Overtime. Instead, I returned wondering wtf happened?!

Ask a Packer Fan. V. 2.0
Hello Lion fans! Some of you know me, some of you don't. For those of you that don't, my name is Jabooty from Acme Packing Company. Don't worry, I come in peace. I'm not here to bash, talk smack, or put anyone down. I'm just here to answer any questions you may have about the Packers or the upcoming matchups between our players. I must admit, I've been browsing through this site the past couple weeks and I'm really surprised some of you seriously want Jim Schwartz gone. Even I can conclude that would be a serious mistake. Wait, what am I saying? I'm a Packer fan! Ok, ok, please, fire him. That's a great decision. He has done nothing to put the Lions organization on the right track. Nope, I don't fear the Lions in the future. You must fire Schwartz! I know, I know, it's not going to happen. haha.
Anyhow, I'm here to answer any questions and to talk football with you guys. Lets be civil please.
I do have 1 question for you: Ndamakong Suh is no doubt the clear cut Defensive Rookie of the Year. However, some people just have a fetish for QB's and may go for Sam Bradford. How pissed will you be if they screw Suh again on end of the year awards (the first being the Heisman Trophy)? Will I expect an uprising in Detroit?
Also, please recommend to keep this up all week. Thanks!

Hello Niner Fans! I'm Jabooty from Acme Packing Company and I'm here to answer any questions you may have about my team before our matchup this Sunday. I know things clearly haven't worked out too well for your Niners, but you're not out of it yet given that you are still in the race to win the NFC West. As for us, well, lets just say I lost count in how many guys are on IR and how many starters we lost. We added 2 more guys on IR this week, and will likely add another next week. It's a trend......LOL. Ok, that's not funny. Anyhow, I would like to say we have this game locked up. However, I am a little concerned. As I mentioned before, the Niners are still very much in this race yet and NEED this game. They'll be coming in and playing hard. I'm expecting that much. The Packers are overcoming the injuries because of Dom Capers. That pretty much sums our season up. Capers has done a remarkable job with our defense. So ask away and I'll answer any questions you may have....

How we match up against the Atlanta Falcons
This Sunday is a big matchup between the Packers and Falcons. The Falcons have the advantage in playing at the Georgia Dome, where they are 18-1 with Matt Ryan at the helm. The Falcons are coming in averaging 31 points per game over the last 4 games (Cincinnati, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and St. Louis). The Packers are coming in allowing only a combined 10 points over the last 3 games (NYJ, Dallas, and Minnesota). Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses, and now based upon my discussions with Falcon fans at The Falcoholic, I’m going to show how we match up. Seeing how the Packers are coming in hot and how they generally play in the 2nd half of each season, I think the Packers come out with a victory in a very close game. More after the jump...
Ask a Packer Fan!
Hello Falcon fans! I'm Jabooty from Acme Packing Company here to reach out and answer any questions you may have about the Packers. This may be one of the biggest games in the year as this game may very well determine who will get home field advantage in the playoffs. I'm looking forward to a good one. If the Packers win, we will hold the tie breaker over both Philadelphia and Atlanta. If Atlanta wins, you have a 2 game lead over us and a tie breaker. Big game for both of us.
I think we made history this past Sunday, so watch out Mike Smith. We got 2 opposing Head Coach's fired 2 games in a row (not counting the bye week). Ok, I kid, I kid. Mike Smith has nothing to fear. In fact, we do. Matt Ryan's home record of 18-1 is remarkable! He's nearly unbeatable at home. So I'm looking forward to a great game between 2 solid teams. I watched 2 Falcon games this year: against Baltimore and against St. Louis. I'm very impressed with your offense. Most notably, the 3rd down conversions, the balance, and the rhythm. The offense seems to click on short timed passing routes and a solid running game. The right side of your Offensive Line featues a couple run blocking maulers and do their job very well. They will lining up against BJ Raji, Ryan Pickett, and Clay Mathews out of the base packages. When you spread the field, it will be Raji and Mathews in our Nickel Packages. I'm assuming we'll be playing out of the Nickel the most in this game while you have TE Tony Gonzalez. Would you say that's all a fair analysis of your offense?
Now to open up some questions. What is the best way to beat your offense? St. Louis seemed focused on stopping Micheal Turner, and did well. However, that didn't stop Matt Ryan and the passing attack. Also, I'm not familiar with your defense. Are they best against the run or pass? Who should we watch out for? Who are your best defenders (assuming Abraham is out)?
Now you can feel free to ask as many questions about the Packers as you want. The most common question that we get: How is your team holding up with all the injuries? The answer: Dom Capers and Aaron Rodgers. Our defense was hit hard with the most injuries, but Capers has kept the unit strong. Our offense lost a couple starters, but Rodgers is maintaining. It caused for a slightly less productive season, but he's still producing and I'm not worried.
Please recommend this post so it's up all week. Thanks guys!

Hey guys, I'm Jabooty from APC. I'm here to answer any questions you may have of our upcoming matchup. I can already conclude that the Packers are in a very grave situation losing starting SS Morgan Burnett for the season, ILB Nick Barnett for the season, S Nick Collins is out this Sunday, and ILB Brandon Chillar is going to be out for a while. Not to mention our ongoing issues at the OT position. My prediction: huge upset. Redskins win 41-20. Wow, I can't believe I just said that! Anyhow, ask away.....
Ask a Packer Fan
Hello Lion fans, I'm Jabooty from APC and I come in peace! I've been here numerous times before talking football with you guys, so some of you may know me. I'll be honest, this will be the first time doing this on a division rival's site. "gasp" However, I have never had any issues with you guys nor do I think you have had issues with me, leading me to believe we can have a civil conversation about football.
I'm here to answer any questions you have about the Packers. I will be around the next couple days to answer, but will be out over the weekend. So I'm hoping to answer as many questions as possible in the meantime.
To start things off: How has your secondary progressed the past couple days? I know they have been less than stellar, but have they improved?
How we match up with Detroit
Looking ahead to Week 4, we will be playing against Detroit @ Green Bay. Matthew Stafford is doubtful again. He's expected to begin light work outs today, but apparently there is "no chance" he will start against Green Bay according to Yahoo Sports news. DE Mike Neal is still considered Questionable. I thought he was going to make his first appearance against Chicago, but he's still not 100%. I would prefer him to rest up because rib injuries. We certainly could use his services, but we don't need him against Detroit.
What's going on with a few ex-Packers?
I know this isn't big news or anything, but just to change the subject from our penalty infested game on Monday. I decided to take a look at what's going on with some ex-Packers.
Last year, it seemed Buffalo was snooping around our Practice Field and grabbing our practice squad guys. They ended up signing OT Jamon Meredith and QB Brian Brohm.
This year, you'll have to look on the West Coast to find that same team. The Seattle Seahawks have signed OT Breno Giacomini, OG/OT Allen Barbre, and C Evan Dietrich-Smith. The fans seem to be pretty psyched about the potential of Giacomini and Barbre. I already took the liberty in warning them to NEVER give Barbre a chance at OT.....AGAIN!
Ask a Packer Fan- Week 2
Hello Bill fans! I'm Jabooty from APC and I'm looking forward to our game this Sunday. Maybe it's because i'm going to the game, so I'm super psyched. idk... Anyhow, I'm here to answer any questions you may have on the Packers and give you new insight on my team before you watch them.
I also have a couple questions about your Bills:
What kind of offense do they run? Do they run a lot of spread formations? 3-5 WR sets often?
How many carries do you expect CJ Spiller to have against GB?
How did you Offensive Line look in Week 1?
How has your defense looked thus far in its conversion to the 3-4?
Ask me anything about the Pack, and I'll be happy to answer your questions!

Hello Chief fans! My name is Jabooty from APC stopping by before our meaningless 4th Preseason Game. You can ask me any questions about the Packers and I have a few about your Chiefs. Although our game is meaningless and our backups are likely to play the most, we'll have an idea in what to expect from our teams as the Regular Season progresses.
Allow me to begin. KC made a huge trade for Matt Cassel last year and he had to my understanding a mediocre performance. How has he looked this season? Is he progressing? How does the team look this year? How has the continued transition to the 3-4 been looking so far in Preseason?
Alright, I'll turn it over to you now. Ask away guys!

Hello Seahawk fans! I'm Jabooty from Acme Packing Company and I've come answer any questions you may have about the Packers considering we'll be matching up this next Saturday. I did this last year in the Regular Season, but this will be the first time I'm doing this for a Preseason game. This game is meaningless for both sides, but I figured it would be a good way for us to get to know each others team a little more before we enter the Regular Season. We are both fresh off the first Preseason Game, so it's a little early, but I won't be able to answer any questions from Thursday through gameday as I'll be in the Philippines (Thank God I have DVR!).
Now, on to your Seahawks. Last year your offensive line struggled mightily. New Head Coach Pete Carroll drafted Russell Okung from Oklahoma State to be your new Franchise LT. How did he look in the first game?
How did your 1st Round Safety look (I forgot his name, sorry)?
How did the OL look in general?
Do you feel Hasselbeck will get the job done with a new coach, new line, and new system?
What expectations do you have of your team this year?

How we match up against the NFC North.
Well, the offseason is finally drawing to a close. After months of heated debates in who we should draft, who we should sign, and who we should start, the season is right around the corner and football season is about to begin. Preseason officially kicks off today with Dallas and Cincinatti facing one another at the Hall of Fame Game. With that said, lets take a look at how we match up against our bitter rivals in the NFC North.
Question for you guys, kind of random
Hey guys,
Kind of weird, but I have a question for you. What exactly is going on with Packers Camp and OTA's? What is happening right now? The reason I am asking is I am looking for something to do from 12-2 on a few days in June in Green Bay, so I was thinking about just watching the Packers practice as I've never done that before. Anything going on at that time beginning on June 3rd?
