Ale to Usher in Baseball Season
Pretty cool article. Although, I'd switch to the cool and refreshing brews at RBIA. Speaking of....I hope they bring back Summer Shandy.
"Pretend it's CJ's face!"
Created this Rangers Hat
Pretty cool idea by New Era. However, I'm not sure I would spend over $60 for a hat.
Yankee Douche Poll
Last night while watching the game, a question was posed that was thought at first to be an easy answer, yet revealed itself as one of baseball's most difficult conflicts. My buddy and I just couldn't figure it out. An answer would immediately pop in our heads, but after a few seconds deliberation would set in, and again we would be stuck like a government budget session. So LSBers, perhaps you can solve the question that would almost surely make the Iron Horse roll over in his grave.
Watching Party for Game 1
TBS is the best station ever!! Atleast that is what I'm putting in my time off work request. Since we have two day games in a row, does anyone know of a place that is sporting a Rangers focused watching party? It would be cool to watch in a crowd, so it can mask my girlie screams caused by Hambone homers.
Maybe Sherlocks off of 75?
Franks? Fox and the Hound? Wizards (3 HD projectors)?
Hunt for October
With 31 games remaining, the Rangers have the highest number of road games left to play. 19 games away, while the Twins have 19 at home. Do MLB schedulers hate the Rangers?
Headlines you should have seen this morning
- Justin Smoak has been called up to the majors. To make room for him, Ryan Garko has been traded back to Cleveland for a player to be named later or cash. 'K'ris Davis will be the back up when Smoak needs a day off.
- Rich Harden has hit the DL with a serious case of ADD. He will require therapy and many batting practice sessions in Extended Spring Training. Up to replace him is Derek Holland.
- Ron Washington has been fired for relying on Mike Maddux and Andres Blanco to coach. Steve Buechele will replace him as manager. JD's response: "It really was an easy decision."
- Nolan Ryan has stated that he will be throwing batting practice from now on. "If they can't get a hit off me, then they can't play that day."
- Franky Francisco has decided to retire. He has chosen to quit baseball and take over his father's chair business.
- Gary Pettis and Julio Borbon stayed late last night to work on diving catches. Pettis was seen hooking up the hose to a Slip 'N Slide.
A good place to watch Opening Day.
I was unable to get tickets to Opening Day, but I would like to watch today's game with other fans. Anyone know of any place where this wish can be fulfilled? (preferably with beer and sound)
A continuation to fill out the words requirement......I was thinking maybe Frankie's Sports Bar, Christie's, or Wizards. Spent parts of last year's game traveling from bar to bar in search a place that would play the sound....instead, ran into many managers who didn't want to interrupt their patrons dining experience.
Time for a lineup change?
I was thinking the other day, that it just might be time to change the lineup a bit. I used to hate seeing Buck shuffle the lineup day in and day out, as I was screaming for some sort of consistency. But, now I'm thinking we could use a little test drive. How about this?
Andrus
Young
Kinsler
Cruz
Jones (or Blalock)
Murphy (or Boggs)
Byrd
Salty
Davis
This biggest move, obviously here, is that Andrus would bat leadoff, and Kinsler would get an opportunity to see more fastballs sandwiched between Young and Cruz. Thus, likely increasing the probability that Cruz would be able to hit with more runners in scoring position. Lately, I don't like the way Byrd is swinging at the 1st pitch, so I think he should move down. Salty and Davis can switch between the too last spots for their horrible OBP.
What do you think?
Blake Beavan is heading to Frisco
"Blake Beavan, the RHP the Rangers drafted out of Irving High in the 2007 first round, has been promoted to Double-A Frisco."
Texas Rangers fan asked to remove 'Yankees Suck' T-shirt
Ridiculous. Just ridiculous. I could say sooo many things about this G Rated scrutiny, but ultimately it just comes down to the fact that they are preventing passion.
Would you....
I suggested in the offseason that we not even tinker with Brodie Croyle. He has talent, but has proven over and over that he cannot stay healthy. Unfortunately, we don't really have a competent back up either. So, we have two options..
- Ride this train and draft Tebow or Daniels in April.
- Would you.....trade LJ for Brady Quinn? And if LJ is worth more, would you ask for a draft pick as well?

Great time to be a Rangers fan!
Well, these are the days that we have been praying about for many, upon many, of years. Where youth has been given the nod over struggling, inconsistent veterans. This year's team is unlike any other in that they are full of youth and talent directly promoted from the farm below. Can you believe that we haven't fallen for a dumb trade that would require some youth in exchange for some player past their prime and in a contract year?! And can you believe that we are actually letting our prospects play in the bigs?! Thank you Nolan Ryan!
Promoted to the bigs and still with the team:
Eric Hurley
Chris Davis
Max Ramirez
Scott Feldman
German Duran
Brandon Boggs
Luis Mendoza
Doug Mathis
Salty
Waiting in the wakes:
Matt Harrison
John Mayberry Jr.
Elvis Andrus
Warner Madrigal
Thomas Diamond
Kasey Kiker
Julio Borbon
Feliz, Ramirez, Main, Beltre, Beaven, Gomez, Perez, Holland, Boscan...........etc. etc. etc.
Joselo Diaz
Apparently he has just been signed by the Rangers and sent to Frisco.
