Who was your favorite "one and done" Clipper?

Previous to this comment, citizen penguin35 said something that made me think "oh man, I remember that guy." "…at least we extended Rick Brunson’s career!" That's right, Rick Brunson, wasn't that great of a player. But from these past years, there has been many one and done Clippers. In this FanPost, I'm going to try and bring up some old names from the past that I can recall that were on the Clippers for one, or less, season that start from the year 2000 and above. Some of us aren't old enough to remember 1990 when Niq was a Clipper and left right after. Oh, and this years 2010 roster doesnt count. So guys like Rasual Butler, Sebastian Telfair, Craig Smith, or other potential one and done Clippers don't count.

I really was thinking of writing a small analysis on each player, but eventually found out that we had ALOT of one and dones in the past 9 years. My favorites are Fred Jones, Mike Taylor, and Nick Fazekas.

Fred Jones was kind of a surprise pick up. I didn't like the guy that much. I know he was a pretty good dunker in the past, but he had kind of a bad rep. Might be because he played on the team with Ron Artest and the infamous Indianna-Detroit Brawl. Regardless, this guy came out every night and hussle his ass off to a 19 win team. I remember even reading an article about him struggling to find a job in the NBA while trying to provide food for his WHOLE family. Fred wasn't great, but he worked hard, showed heart, and was wishing he would have been back on the team.

Mike Taylor was our rookie pg. He showed unlimited potential. His biggest up was his speed. His biggest downside was his inability to control his speed. Regardless, he exploded in Madison Square Garden and was awesome at dunking. He also apparently was a funny dude next to DJ. Too bad we waived him this year because he didn't progress forward.

Nick Fazekas was a panic move to get any PF while Brand was hurt. Regardless, this guy still played like he would in an NCAA game. Hard. All out. Fighting for a roster spot. I remember he would just throw a random shot, and it would hit the basket. Either way, Fazekas wasn't too bad of a player, even though stats sheet probably won't show it/

So anyway, who was your favorite one and done Clipper from 2000-2009 Clipsnation?

*EDIT BTW, I could have missed a few players, I looked over the list and realize I missed out Dan Dickau.
*EDIT: After further research Cherokee Parks was NOT a one and done. He signed one more year with us towards the end of his career. Sorry about that.

Theres no surprise that EJ is our prized gem in this organization. Maybe we overrank our players as many fan does. In this case, Gordon is #9 on the list behind players like Ersan Ilyasova and Jason Thompson. He's also behind Westbrook who's #5.

"Gordon's game is improving in almost every aspect. He's becoming a bulldog on defense, fighting for every inch and averaging 1.58 steals per game. And on offense he's getting to the paint more -- and finishing -- which makes him a more effective player. On some nights, he looks like the Clips' best player."

What do you guys think? Does #9 do him justice behind guys (in this order?): Brook Lopez, Marc Gasol, Jason Thompson, Ersan Illyasova, Russel Westbrook, Anthony Randolph, Ryan Anderson, and Danilo Gallinari?

According to the Sporting News, Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy was close to getting canned a few weeks back, but a strong 4-1 showing in the team's last five has team owner Donald Sterling emphasizing he wants to see Dunleavy work with a full healthy roster before he makes a decision on his future.

I remember after Ricky Rubio was drafted, there was many people in LA hoping that we could swap the Minny pick they owe us with Rubio. Well, being an ESPN Insider, it seems like Kahn doesn't plan on trading Rubio.

"Minnesota Timberwolves director of basketball operations David Kahn says he doesn't expect to trade Ricky Rubio, the fifth pick in the 2009 NBA draft, and he believes the Spanish point guard will play for the team when he comes to the NBA."

"People move in this league, but in Ricky's case I have never tried to move him and don't have any intention of doing so. I'm eager for him to start his career for us in a Timberwolves uniform."

Well, now we know, Kahn is NOT looking to trade Rubio at all. Its fine though, we still got the last laugh in the trade; I mean Cassel and a first rounder for Lionel Chalmers and Marko Jaric? We went to the playoffs with cassel with Sammy, got ourselves a first rounder, and let go of Marko, whom I wasn't a fan of.

Also, maybe that pick will be a #1 pick?!?

From brief sections of the statement:
"That would not be bad," the 6'10" Kaman said. "I have always thought about it, but I thought it might be a nightmare with ticket requests for every game."

"But he was raised in Central Michigan and would apparently be very happy to get traded to the Detroit Pistons, according to the Detroit News."

Not a great image your putting on yourself Kaman.

Anyway, I like Kaman. I really do...sorta. But part of that tarnished a bit when he played for Germany in the Olympics. I'm sure he had a legit reason, but I was hoping he would just stay and play for America. There was talks that Kaman would be invited in the future, and sure he took the other better opportunity, but it just leaves me with an awkward feeling of semi-betrayal for me. Probably nobody else agrees with me, but okay.

Right now, it kind of downputs my image on Kaman. Kaman has been inconsistant these past couple of games. The NBA has finally figured Kaman out. And as Steve said (and this is just a remix version about a different player Steve was referring to) Kaman has yet to figure out the NBA. I understand that Kaman was raised there, but I rather try and get a more talented player than Kaman. I've put up with Kaman's injury season a few too many times. I think I would prefer to have a better defending player such as (as stated) a hearlthy Prince and even Battier. Maybe we can work a deal for Houston to send their beloved prize Battier for Kaman.

I'm not too worried about a lineup containing Baron, Gordon, Battier, Griffin, and Camby.

We don't need another player born and raised in LA, and we sure don't NEED to send Kaman back to Michigan when there's a trade... Just saying we can send him somewhere else besides his desired destination.

So while I was on another article reading about Kaman's value dropping with his previous preformances, maybe you readers can post a trade idea for Kaman?

Al Thornton lost 25 pounds during the offseason. His game was off at the beginning of the season and he thinks losing too much weight too fast was the main culprit.

"You know that might have been it," Thornton told the Los Angeles Times. "I dropped so much weight so quickly, I don't know if my body adjusted to it. I lost 25 pounds, like, quick. It took a while for my game to get adjusted to it."

This may be a lesson for you, stay off the McDonalds!

Dunleavy on Al Thornton

After a rough start to this season that's featured a poor shooting percentage, Al Thornton has been taken out of the starting lineup by Mike Dunleavy. Rasual Butler got the start at small forward last evening in a win over the Timberwolves.

"You also have to take into consideration the personnel he's playing against," Dunleavy told the L.A. Times. "He's had four pretty rough customers: Ron Artest in the first game, Grant Hill in the second game, Andrei Kirilenko the third game, and then Shawn Marion in the fourth game.

"All those guys, other than maybe Grant Hill, are bigger and stronger than he is. I think it's too early to jump the gun on it."

Dunleavy appears to be indicating here that it's early, and Thornton's struggles may be indicative off the level of talent he's played against. If he takes the demotion as a challenge to improve his game, don't be surprised if the 25-year-old is inserted back into the starting rotation at some point this season.

NBA star Tracy McGrady's autograph is over 16x more valuable than fellow baller Deandre Jordan's -- this courtesy of a lawsuit filed against a trading card company.

Nine NBAers -- McGrady, Jordan, Brandon Roy, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, D.J. Augustin, T.J. Ford, Antawn Jamison, Anthony Randolph and DeAndre Jordan -- are suing Topps, claiming they were all only partially paid for their autograph deals.

The most interesting part ... how much Topps paid per autograph.

McGrady -- $50
Rose -- $25
Roy -- $18
Westbrook -- $10
Jamison -- $10
Ausgustin -- $8
Randolph -- $7
Ford -- $6
Jordon -- $3

All nine combined are suing for $300,000.
