Logan Mankins on the Jaguar Defense
Logan Mankins on Jets D: "It's not like Jacksonville, where they line up in one spot and never move or do anything different."
Everyone keeps talking about upside. Upside doesnt do anything for you today. Today Garrard is better. Gabbert can improve on bench #Jaguars
National Football Post Defensive All-Rookie Team
Nice to see Alualu get some recognition by NFP, but notice in the comments that some people still call him a reach even if he would have made the Pro Bowl.
Just found out I finished #1 in fan voting for the Pro Bowl! Thank you everyone who voted! All that's left is coaches and players votes

Can Jags keep slowing down Vince Young?
Some interesting stats and notes on tonight's game.
R. Jay Soward discusses payments he got while in college
By far the worst draft pick in Jaguars history talks about getting money from an agent.
Re-Focused: Week 5, Jaguars at Bills
Observations from PFF on last week's game against the Bills.
David from Las Vegas, NV
Is the college question possibly the big news that we are waiting on?Vic: Yeah, it is. The Jaguars are fond of a program the Penguins of the NHL developed. The Penguins are on, like, a 200-game sellout streak and they’re concerned about exposing their product to the next generation of fans, so they developed a concept in which they put college students on a waiting list for tickets that are greatly reduced in price. Pittsburgh has a big college population: Pitt, Duquesne, Carnegie-Mellon, Point Park, Robert Morris and more. It’s only about 200 or so tickets but it helps expose the product to young people. The Jaguars studied the concept, liked it and are trying to tailor it to their need to fill the bowl and make this a blackout-free season. The team is currently attempting to work out the mechanics of a plan that would allow season ticket holders to donate their tickets to local college students. The Jaguars believe it would help promote season-ticket sales. Why would it be big news? Because if the Jaguars get within a few thousand tickets of a season-long sellout, it could be the program that puts the whole ticket movement over the top. It could be the final step in guaranteeing that all Jaguars home games will be shown on local TV. There are logistical issues that have to be overcome. Let’s hope it can happen.
Jags sign Larry Hart
First Jags' draft pick signs. Hopefully he can have a big impact on the pass rush.
Mathis a No Show for the start of OTAs
Looks like Alfie was correct. Mathis was a no-show for the start of OTAs.
The Five Best Players on the Jaguars
Seeing how the "Dead Zone" has overcome most of us on BCC, I figured that I would try and and rank the five best players currently on the squad, which does not include rookies or recent free agent signings.
1. Maurice Jones-Drew: The only consistent playmaker on offense, MJD is critical to the success of the Jaguars. Without him, playoffs are out of the question. However, even he can't do it all by himself, and the Jags need another player to step up behind him.
2. Daryl Smith: Like MJD, Smith was the only consistent playmaker on his side of the ball. In a year of horribly bad defense, Smith played like an All-Pro, and there was no better example of that than the game at Houston, where he stripped and recovered a fumble in the endzone to preserve the win.
3. David Garrard: Despite what some fans say, Garrard is not as horrible as they make him out to be. His stats prove that he is a middle of the pack quarterback, nothing more, nothing less. Nevertheless, this year is an important one for Garrard, since it is likely that the Jags will take a quarterback in the 2011 draft. If Garrard wants to be around in Jacksonville for a few more years, he has to be very good this year.
4. Terrance Knighton: A great draft pick by Gene Smith last year, Knighton was very disruptive despite playing with an ankle injury for most of the year. A year of experience plus a healthy start to the year should make him every offensive lineman's worst "Knightmare."
5. Mike Sims-Walker: MSW finally had the breakout year that fans had been waiting for. MSW had a good year, despite wearing down late in the season. This year, he will be the go-to receiver for Garrard in a young and unproven corps of receivers.
Honorable mentions: Rashean Mathis, Derek Cox, Marcedes Lewis, Justin Durant, Eugene Monroe.

Seahawks giving Reggie Williams a tryout
Hopefully I'm doing this right. Just saw on espn.com that Reggie Williams might get another shot in the NFL.
