Bullets Forever Your #QUOTESANITY Champion

Quotesanity_final_medium

There wasn't much Randy Wittman could do to get through to JaVale McGee about why he was benched, and there was nothing anyone could do to stop Can't Say I Do from winning #QUOTESANITY. With 59 percent of the vote, Can't Say I Do took down Valentine's Shories to become this year's champion.

Although Can't Say I Do was presumptive favorite from the onset, it faced some stiff competition along the way to the title. As we all expected, the McGee Bracket was the deepest of the four, and at times, made us question whether or not they'd even survive as the best McGee quote. Then, it had to face off against Andray Blatche's career-defining quote in the semifinals, where it hung on with just 52 percent of the vote. After all that, the finals were a relative breeze. Can't Say I Do's margin of victory in the finals over Valentine's Shorties was the second largest win for Can't Say I Do in the tournament.

Now that Can't Say I Do has taken its rightful spot as #QUOTESANITY champion, it can begin exploring how to maximize its newfound fame. Cant Say I Do has already come to terms with Truth About It on a movie deal, and we expect to see much more down the pipe. We can't say we know exactly what just yet, but we'll figure it out sooner or later.

It's great. I was a little scared a couple days ago, but I understand God had a plan, and the plan is to be here. I'm going to do my best. That's all I can promise. Do anything possible to help the team, help the young guys, to do what is asked of me and be happy. -Nene on being traded to the Wizards.

Bullets Forever #QUOTESANITY: 1. Sense Of Entitlement vs. 8. Likes White Players

For the next few weeks, we're voting on the top Wizards quote of the year, bracket-style, in a little something we like to call #QUOTESANITY. Today, we move to the Life in the Basement region and start with Maurice Evans venting about his teammates and Jan Vesely learning odd things about Flip Saunders.

1. Sense Of Entitlement

The sense of entitlement that's here sometimes, I've never seen before. We have to start earning things. Earn your way into the rotation. Earn your way onto the floor, and then you earn your minutes by being productive, and when you're not in the rotation, you be supportive and make guys better in practice. -Maurice Evans after a team meeting to address the team's struggles.

8. Likes White Players

I don't know how much he trusts rookies, but I heard that he likes white players, so we'll see. -Jan Vesely when asked by a Czech website what he knew about Wizards coach Flip Saunders. He later clarified that he meant European players, but still, that's a great quote.

So which quote tickles your fancy more? Calling out your teammates or accidentally accusing your coach of being a racist? The choice is yours.

2. Valentine's Shorties

I'm the wrong person to talk to about Valentine's Day. I usually get rid of my shorties around now. -Jordan Crawford, when asked what gifts he gives for Valentine's Day.

7. Three Cereal Meals

Probably Kellog's, because I eat a lot of cereal. I eat cereal, like, three times a day. -Trevor Booker on which company he would like to have as a uniform sponsor.

While we at Bullets Forever do not necessarily endorse either strategy proposed here (although some of us could eat Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch all day), we do think they make for some solid quotes. Vote away!

You can say it really kills you to lose, but until it really kills you? For me, for 3-4 weeks, I've been on a steady diet of Subway, which is 20 minutes from my condo, and I bring it back up to my apartment. Because like I said, you don't feel good about yourself. As a team, that's how it has to be. It has to really hurt a lot. - Flip Saunders on how he coped with the team's losing ways.

6. Beer For Lunch

I'm Czech so I like beer. :) I'll have one for lunch. :) -Jan Vesely in a Q&A with a Czech website.
