Question about scheduling
I have a question about scheduling. I found a website that gives the opponents of every NFL team through the 2017 season. When the league makes the schedule and we face an opponent from the, lets say NFC south, does it always depend on where we finish this year in our respective division. Is it true that if we finish 3rd in the AFC East this year, then when we play an opponent from the NFC South, we play the 3rd team that finished in that division always. Or does this not always hold true?
My wish for our 1st Round Pick next year
I love Patrick Peterson, the safety for the LSU Tigers. He is very athletic and can be a nice playmaker for this secondary next year. He is also an excellent and explosive kick returner. He would help us in 2 aspects of football next year, the defense and on special teams. Does anyone else have any prospects that they are keeping an eye on in the first round of next years draft? I am also thinking that a Vince Wilfork type DT in the first round could really help us too.
Edds out for Year
Guys~
Miamidolphins.com and Profootballtalk.com are reporting that AJ Edds has torn his ACL and is out for the season. I think this is very bad news for us. He was suppossed to be in the game on 3rd downs as our OLB to cover the TE. We all know that this was a huge problem for us last year and we really felt that we solved the problem when we drafted him. I hate this time of year, I feel that I only read the practice reports in fear of reading bad news like this.
Hartline in hot water
Rotoworld is reporting that the car belonging to wide reciever Brian Hartline was found overnight abandoned on the side of the road. The car hit a parked Cadillac Escalade that was also on the side of the road. The article says that the authorities are investigating the scene to see who was driving the car at the time of the accident. This could definately land Brian in hot water with the league. Lets hope nothing comes of this.
Dolphins make roster move
According to rotoworld.com, the Miami Dolphins have released linebacker Reggie Torbor. This shouldn't come to a complete suprise, with the addition of Karlos Dansby and the acquisition of Tim Dobbins via draft day trade, the Dolphins have pretty solid depth at the linebacker position. The website reported that the Dolphins were set to pay Reggie Torbor, who most likely was relegated to special teams, over 3 million dollars this season.
Previously in the week, rotoworld also said that Channing Crowder could begin the season on the PUP list. They also hinted that he could ultimately be a cap casualty.
Smiley traded to Jax
According to Profootballtalk.com, Guard Justin Smiley was traded to the Jacksonville Jags. The deal is pending Smiley can pass the physical. They dont report what compensation we get in the deal, but I cant imagine that it is much more than a late round pick. Now let the competition between Donald Thomas and Jon Jerry begin.
I cant wait to see how mammoth our offensive line is. I think this unit is surely going to be a major asset to us this year.

Anyone else see the correlation?
Do we remember last week when Santonio Holmes was traded for a measly 5th round pick? Many of us fin fans bitched for a few days about how we could sit on our cards and not offer up at least a 4th. THEN, Brandon Marshall came to town and we were all forced to eat our words. I am a firm believer that this deal had been in place for a good amount of time, with all the rumors and articles talking about us being the 3rd team involved.
Now, many of us are bitching about how we could just let JT sign with the Jets without even an offer on the table. I believe its because we have a plan in place to address the position in the draft. I think this regime has someone targeted in the 1st Round of tomorrows draft. Common names of Derrick Morgan, JPP, and even Kindle come to mind. However, all 3 of these players could be gone by the time that we pick at 12. I also believe that the Trifecta cancelled his meeting with JT last week because we are drafting someone at 12 that will surely be on the board.
So here it is......with the 12th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins select Jerry Hughes!!!
Justin Smiley
Has anyone heard what the deal with Justin Smiley is? Are there any rumors or thoughts out there as to where he is going to end up. The only team that I ever heard to be linked was Seattle. I, for one, believe that a deal is already in place. I cant imagine that they would have told him to stay away from team headquarters unless something pretty much was already set in stone. Thoughts anyone?
Compensatory Pick
I was on ESPN Insider and I saw that late last night, the compensatory picks were awarded. We were only given one pick and it was in the 7th Round....#252 overall. I was really hoping that it might have been alittle higher. We lost both Goodman and Hill to the Broncos, while the only signing that was relevant for us was Jake Grove.
Just on a side note, New England was awarded four picks. 1 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th....bringing their total number of draft picks to a whopping 93 total!!
Rex Ryan had lapband surgery
Hahhahaha. He really is the fattest slob in the game. Not to mention, the most classless head coach that this league has seen in a while!! But I guess its only fitting that you dont mention class with anything that has to do with the JETS. There were a few choice words that came out of the mouth of Channing last year.....cause Lord knows, nothing ever comes out of Ryans mouth- only in!!! What a J-O-K-E joke joke joke!!
Dez Bryant.....
With all the second round WR in this years draft projected, I dont understand why we would pass on a ILB, OLB, NT, or S with the #12 pick. After Bryant, the scouts all have Benn, Tate, Gilyard, Damian Williams, Mike Williams, Lafell, and Demaryius Thomas as second round grades. We could snatch up 1 of these WR, preferably someone with size and address another need at #12. Of course, its easy to say trade back, but thats a long shot.
Personally, I think NT is a major need. From what I have been reading, Suh, McCoy, Dan Williams, Terence Cody, Price, and Jared Odrick could all go in the 1st Round. The problem is, outside of Suh and McCoy, there really isnt a NT that projects as high as #12. Thats why I say, trade back to late teens or ealy 20's.......then grab Dan Williams. We then would have the ability to take a WR at #43. Then with our extra 2nd from the trade, we could get our LB....someone such as Hughes or Washington.
Am I the only one that missed it.....Roth released?
Im not sure on saying the name of the other site, and if it gets me into trouble........but Math Roth was released and signed by the Browns? This is news to me. This leads me to believe that there was something really wrong behind the scenes. What do you all think of the news? Does this mean that we say hello to more plays out of Cameron Wake? I have to believe that an outside linebacker that can rush the passer is a major priority early in Aprils draft.

Leigh Bodden?
Just wondered what you guys thought of Bodden from Detroit. He was released today. He signed a contract that would have given him 8.6 million this year, which is the reason he was released. He is only 27 years old which would entice Parcells. He is also 6'1 and just over 190 lbs, which is the size that Parcells covets. Does anyone know anything about him? He had 6 picks for Cleveland, the year before he hit free agency.
What I think people are forgetting
Hey guys~
I think people are forgetting a simple thing this weekend. If the Jets win, God forbid, they still need the Patriots to lose against the bills for them to get into the playoffs. I strongly believe that the Pats will be victorious. So the fact that the NFL moved the Fins to 4 EST, might be a blessing in disguise. Lets just assume that the Pats win their game at 1 EST. When the Jets take the field for our game, they will already know that their season is over with the victory by the Pats. This will inevitably take some of the air out of their sails, which will make our game with them THAT much easier. Lets go PATS.......God I never thought I would say that!
Lets go Fins!!
Heres to wishing.....
I almost forgot to think about wanting the G-men to win this game tonight. For every loss that Washington endures, and hopefully many of them, our Dolphins will have that much of a higher 2nd round pick in next years draft. Am I wrong in not wanting, or at least not believing that, the Skins can win it all this year for JT? So my order goes as this every Sunday....
1. Dolphins Victory
2. Washington Loss
3. New York Jets loss
Good luck to everyone this weekend and be safe!!
Joey Porter sounds off!!
I dont have a link but the Sportcenter guy was talking about Joey Porter sounding off on Spygate. I got alittle worried when I heard news on Joey Porter and his mouth, but this is a topic I am anxious to hear what he has to say. He said it would be aired at 6:00 ET. He sounded pretty excited about it. Sorry for posting something without a link, but I'm sure Matty will be onto something very soon!

Am I way off base??
I really feel that drafting a QB at 32 is just showing no belief in Beck. Like Matty, I am a big Beck supporter and feel that someone like Quentin Groves or Antoine Cason at 32 is the better way to go. If we drafted a Henne/Flacco/Brohm I feel we addressed a need that shouldnt be addressed 2 years in a row. Filling another whole like CB or LB would really help our defense to get much younger.
