The Onion: Royals Unable To Find Themselves In Standings

Players and executives with the 16-11 Royals filed a grievance with MLB officials Tuesday after they could not find themselves anywhere in the league's official standings. "We looked in all the usual places: third place, fourth place, even fifth place, and we didn't see our name anywhere,"

KU Baseball gets a lotta love from Rivals today.

Kansas is Friday’s Yahoo! Sports team of the day after beating Oklahoma 5-4 to take a 1-0 series lead in Norman, Okla. We’re not in Kansas anymore but perhaps it’s not such a bad place to be. Kansas and Kansas State aren’t exactly known for their illustrious baseball history, but both programs are taking a huge step forward this season. Kansas State picked up a huge win over Oklahoma State in the series opener Friday afternoon. It also had a lead over the Cowboys in Game 2 before weather forced the game to be resumed Saturday. Kansas, meanwhile, defeated red-hot Oklahoma 5-4 in its series opener. Both programs will be in an NCAA regional barring a major surprise the next few weeks. How many of you had the Wildcats and Jayhawks in your preseason field of 64? My guess is not many.

KU Baseball on the happy side of the NCAA bubble, for now.

Kendall Rogers of Rivals thinks KU would make the NCAA tournament right now but the Jayhawks are still in the "danger zone." Kansas Record: 31-15 RPI: 67 This weekend’s opponent: at Oklahoma Analysis: After taking a step back two weekends ago at Texas Tech, the Jayhawks bounced back last weekend with a series win over Nebraska. KU, however, now has a less than stellar RPI with a 12-11 record against top-100 RPI teams. Though Kansas could be on the bad side of the bubble in the eyes of some, the fact it has a 10-8 conference record and a fifth place standing speaks volumes.

Kansas Baseball Head Coach Ritch Price Q&A with fans. Injury updates on Andy Marks, Paul Smyth, Wally Marciel, Thomas Taylor, Cameron Selik and Jordon Jukubov.

Former Cardinal John Stuper now all-time winningest coach at Yale.

John Stuper pitched for the Cardinals and Reds from 1982 - 1985. He won 12 games with a 3.68 ERA for St. Louis in 1983. His second career as a college baseball coach has also gone well. The weekend’s first win put Stuper ahead of Ethan Allen for all-time career wins. Allen was Yale Baseball’s head coach from 1946 to 1968, and after 17 years of coaching, Stuper has now surpassed the legendary coach. "It’s a tremendous accomplishment," captain Stefan Schropp ’09 said. "Coach Stuper is a very humble person and won’t tell you how important it is, but this is one of the most storied programs in college baseball." Schropp added: "He’s always a competitor, but one of the classiest coaches in the Ivy League. He looks after his players with unwavering care."
