Dwayne Morgan
I'm in my 2.5 hour class, so naturally I'm reading Dave Telep's recruiting blog rather then listening to my professor. Came across an article talking about Dwayne Morgan. He is a junior (class of 2014) at City College High School in Baltimore, the alma mater of Syracuse swingman CJ Fair, former Xavier now GW big man Jordan Latham, and of course our favorite freshman, Nick Faust. He got the call up to varsity last year as a sophomore towards the end of the year and has really blown up this summer/fall. He is a 6'7" small forward, who Telep compared to a young Reggie Lewis. His father played in the NFL and mother is very tall as well. Telep says he has "star" potential. Potential problem would be both of his parents were Clemson Tigers. Turge needs to take a look at this kid for sure. Beat Towson!
**sorry for no link, its an insider article**
Baseball Team Big News
Eric Milton, who ironically came up in the fanposts yesterday, was hired today as the assistant coach under head coach Erik Bakich. The Terps coaching staff now includes Erik Bakich, Maryland baseball legend Bernie Walter, and Milton. If you ask me, thats a pretty serious staff with some pretty awesome experience and I really see big things ahead for the baseball program. Possible JUCO Transfer??
Working at a basketball camp this week and heard from a couple of guys that are in the know that there have been some extra guests playing pick up at comcast this week. John Wall was there along with some other former terps and some local players. There was also a 7 footer from Latvia the last couple days. Word was that he struggled a bit the first day but got more comfortable the next day. Apparently he is a JuCo player, looking to transfer. Sounds very similar to the Berend Weis story from last year. Obviously the front court is hurting and anything would help at this point so I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Nationwide Tour at UMD
Know we all know that basketball and football are king here (well maybe lax too), but this week the University of Maryland is hosting the Prince Georges County Melwood Open presented by Under Armour. This will be the second year the course has hosted the event. For those of you not familiar with the course, it is in great shape for the tournament and it should be a great event. Gary Williams is having his pro am today with alot of local sports figures (Boudreau, Gary, Edsall, Chick, B-Mitch, BJ Surhoff, etc.). The tournament starts thursday and runs till sunday. Single day tickets are 10 and week long pases are 25. Going to be a lot of fun, good golf, good food, cold beer. Come out and support the University and its Golf Course!
College Gameday
http://www.dailynorthwestern.com/mobile/northwestern-wrigley-to-host-espn-s-college-gameday-1.2405742
College Gameday announced it will be at Wrigley field next Saturday for the Northwestern Illinois game. How the hell does this make any sense? It is a matchup of two unranked team, and the game has really no implications at all. It will be the second week in a row that it will be at a Big Ten game, and so far this year Gameday has yet to make an ACC stop. The game is on ESPNU, not even the ABC night game like we have. I just dont understand how this game is more appealing to ESPN than a game that can potentially decide the ACC championship game, under the lights at Byrd, with a blackout and wounded warrior jerseys. Maybe I'm bias, but to me it makes no sense whatsoever/
David Pearman to Salisbury
Heard it from a couple sources. David Pearman will be transferring to Salisbury to play ball next year. Hopefully everything works out for him. It will be interesting to see how it does against D3 competition. Salisbury has to be pretty excited to be getting a D1 transfer. One has to think David will put up some pretty big numbers next year. It will be fun to keep up with him next year. Best of luck at the Bury!
