Looking Deeper For the Truth About Josh's Long Jump Shot
via @MikePradaSBN comes a long look into the play before the play where Josh Smith launched a long jump shot.
WARNING: Do not watch if you are apt to scream at your screen about the officiating. Just click and walk away.
Was it a foul? I don't know if I've seen that called in that situation, but Brandon Bass fell all over Josh without having any part of the basketball. I'm not sure if Bass ever actually tied up the ball for a second. It was a lousy way for the game to ultimately turn, and it bailed the Hawks out as the game was getting awfully tight on the offensive end.
Rondo? He's hosed. The guys at TNT may not want Rondo suspended, nor would any basketball fan who enjoys watching an artist like Rajon, but the man stepped to Marc Davis, then stepped toward him again after getting T'd up, tripped on the referee's foot and then bowed out his chest to bump him. That's a suspension for anybody in the league, so it should be no matter if you agreed with the call or simply love the game.
I do believe this will bring Ray Allen off the suit rack to help make up for the loss of Rondo in Game 2.
Rondo, Smith ready for friendly rivalry
Thanks to our friend Jessica Camerato from Comcast SportsNet New England, who wrote this quick, interesting feature regarding two old friends who are going head-to-head starting today.
Jessica talks to Josh and Rondo and provides backstory to the relationship between two of the key players in this sure-to-be emotional seven game series.
