Interesting Debate: Is it the O-Line or Campbell? - Hogs Haven
A more detailed discussion about if Campbell or the Oline is to blame. What's disconcerting is the Redskins NFC East foes have the 3 best defensive lines in the league and Dan Snyder personally went to recruit McCoy and Clausen last week.

Redskins Insider - Eagles defense thrives under McDermott
The Eagles' defense has continued to thrive under McDermott, who has held many assistant positions since joining the organization in 1998. McDermott has retained many of the attacking, blitzing principles Johnson utilized in his scheme that helped to elevate Philadelphia among the league's elite defensively during his nine-year tenure.

Comcast NFL Red Zone stat of the week - Sheldon & Asante
The Eagles "stat of the week" is brought to you by Comcast and the new NFL Red Zone channel
The stat of the week comes directly from the NFL's PR department, who sent out a press release about the importance of good cover corners. In that release, they listed the players with the most passes defensed since 2000.
Number one was Asante Samuel with 101. Who was number 2? Sheldon Brown with 88. There were a number of players tied for 3rd with 80.
An impressive stat and certainly one that lends credence to the notion that the Eagles have the best set of corners in the league. The good news is that both guys should be healthy enough to go this Sunday

Philadelphia Eagles Opponents previews - Washington Redskins
This is the next part in our series of previews of the Eagles 2009 opponents. Joining us for this feature is Dave Schwab, who writes about the Eagles at his site Eagles Lincs.
Another week and another "must win" game. In what will likely be a close fight for a division title or playoff spot, every in conference win is important and that goes double for division games. The Redskins stand i the way of the Eagles going to 7-4 with a very strong in conference record which would put them in the driver's seat for a playoff berth.
Dave's full analysis of the game is after the jump.

Running Rock: Cartwright is Redskins starting back - nfl - SI.com
When the Washington Redskins set their roster for the regular season in September, Cartwright saw three running backs ahead of him. He felt dissed because he was regarded only as a special teams player, despite his seven loyal years of service to the franchise.

Redskins-Eagles Preview - Nov. 25, 2009 - NFL - CBSSports.com Game Preview
In the midst of a tight three-team race for the NFC East lead, the Philadelphia Eagles can't afford a slip-up against the division's last-place club. Based on the Washington Redskins' play away from the nation's capital, that shouldn't be a problem.
DMac: Put Harold in Hall | Philadelphia Daily News | 11/25/2009
agles quarterback Donovan McNabb demurred Wednesday when asked if he agreed with coach Andy Reid's assertion that McNabb will be a Hall of Famer, but McNabb said he knows someone who should be -- Eagles director of player development and alumni Harold Carmichael. Carmichael ranked sixth on the NFL's all-time reception list when he retired in 1984, with 590 receptions, in a much less pass-happy era. His 589 Eagles catches remain the franchise record, and he played in four Pro Bowls.

Winston Justice talks about his new deal
Yesterday afternoon, Winston Justice took the stage at the NovaCare complex with GM Tom Heckert to meet the media and talk about his new contract. He spoke about why his play seems to have improved so dramatically this season.
"I just really wanted to make a change," Justice said of his decision to change his off-season schedule. "I really wanted to make a commitment to my work because I really feel that I was put there for a reason. I think that was biggest difference this year is that I really made a dedication to my trade.
"I thought I improved in every aspect, but I also need to improve in every aspect of my game still ... I think my goal is not to be a good or reliable guy, but my goal is to be a great tackle. I think I have a lot more steps for me to take for that."
Tom Heckert said that the team never lost faith in Justice.
"I know everybody talks about the Giants game, but we see him every day in practice," Heckert said. "You look throughout the league and the top left tackles, top right tackles, they get beat. It happens in the NFL. There was never a point where we said this guy can't play. We saw enough on tape in college and enough on tape in practices, in the preseason that we had faith in Winston. I think I mentioned last year, he had to come out and if he got the opportunity to play he had to prove that he could do it and line up against the top guys and be productive and he's done that this year."
According to Les Bowen, Heckert indicated that the new deal meant that the team does see Justice as the long term starter at right tackle. He also refused to answer any questions about Shawn Andrews, saying the "question isn't even relevant right now."

Win a trip to the Superbowl from Sprint
Gamedays here on BGN are brought to you by Sprint and their NFL mobile live service.
This season, Sprint is giving away 17 trips to Superbowl XLIV. All you've got to do be registered is click here and vote on what you think was the "Can't Miss Play of the Week." This week the nominees were pretty good. First is a great kickoff return by Jamal Charles of the Chiefs that helped them upset the Steelers, the second is Dallas Clark's one handed TD grab against the Ravens, and the best IMO is the finish to the Detroit v Cleveland game.
Two of the worst teams in the league, but probably the best finish of the season.

Geoffrey Pope in, the Iguana out
The Eagles announced today that they've released CB Jack Ikegwuonu(for the 2nd time this year) and signed CB Geoffrey Pope off the Bengals practice squad. From PE.com
Pope (6-0, 186) started the 2009 season on the Cincinnati Bengals active roster and appeared in four games, playing mostly on special teams. He was waived on October 8, but was signed to their practice squad the next day and has been there for the balance of the year.
Pope came into the league as a UDFA signed by the Dolphins in 2007. He spent time with the Giants, where he actually got a superbowl ring and played in the 07-08 playoffs. I suppose the thought is that having played under Steve Spagnuolo in New York, he'd at least have a working knowledge of the system here.

The Linc - Michael Vick, Stacy Andrews, & why the country dislikes the Cowboys
Rich Hofmann: Still time for Vick to prove worth with Eagles | Philadelphia Daily News | 11/24/2009
As it stands today, the whole thing has not been worth the aggravation. But there is time, and there has been a glimmer. For about the last 5 years, these have been the weeks when the Eagles as a team have defined themselves. It is the same thing with Michael Vick. Now, we'll see. *

Eagles coach Reid cites knee injury for Stacy Andrews' deactivation | Philadelphia Daily News | 11/24/2009
"We knew with Stacy's knee there was going to be that first year back after knee surgery is a tough thing, especially as late as he had it. This isn't anything on Stacy's will or knowledge or any of that, it's just to plant that leg and feel comfortable with it, it goes in cycles a little bit. He'll be back in there."
More after the jump, including m recent contributions to the Washington Post. The best IMO, is my take on why people hate the Cowboys so much...
