Buffalo Rumblings We have a true defensive stud!

While many people knew this player was a hard worker with good motor, there were always caveats thrown out regarding this player.  He's too small, doesn't really fit the scheme, not an every down type of guy, not prototypical, etc etc etc...... I will state emphatically that Kyle Williams is a true defensive stud on our line.  man, there is just not quit in this kid and he makes plays!  Regardless of size, strength, scheme or otherwise....I think this kid could (and should) be a fixture on this defense for many years to come.  Keep up the good work Kyle.... you may be our only pro bowl caliber player for a few years!

Buffalo Rumblings THANK YOU BUFFALO!!!!

Well, I guess I was wrong when I posted that our boys would beat Jax in convincing fashion last week.  I had to eat a bunch of crow from my father-in-law about that one.  However, it was so good to be home after an 8 year layoff.  I brought my in-laws up for the game and we all had a wonderful time.  My awesome wife bought me great seats for the Sabres opener (even though we got shelled) for my b-day as well as the Bills tickets, visited with my family which I dont get to do except for funerals and weddings anymore, we had an awesome tailgate and I even got to visit my good friend Dennis DiPalo for dinner after the game.  I want to thank all of the great fans of Buffalo (except for a very few) who were cordial and polite to my in-laws in spite of their jaguars attire.  They really enjoyed themselves in WNY and commented on how nice Bills fans were, how nice the area was and what a great stadium for watching football.  That type of publicity you can't buy.

To any and all friends or family who read this blog (you know who you are)... I miss WNY and all of its many hidden gems..... but I'm not ever shoveling to go to work again!  Thanks again Bills fans and I will be back again....much sooner than 8 years.

Buffalo Rumblings Take it to the bank folks!!!!

After the debacle that was the Jets game yesterday and reading/listening to the comments of coaches & players to their abysmal, embarrassing performance I am here to guarantee that our Buffalo Bills will beat the Jacksonville Jaguars with authority this coming Sunday!  Being a Bills fan since I was old enough to form rational thought, there is one thing I have learned..... These guys can't get any worse than the so-called product  that was displayed this past Sunday, and to a man....they effin' know it.  Jax eeked out a win over Indy that will have them on an emotional high and ripe for the picking.... We will rebound.  That, combined with the fact that I am flying in from Jacksonville with my wife & in-laws (who are Jags fans) and it's my 46th b-day, make this a game they must win.  Seriously, our team is a shambles but I truly believe that this is the game where we obtain victory.... it just has that feel of an upset.   Maybe wishful thinking but that's all we really have lately.  Section 136, Row 18, seats 1-4...stop by and say hello!!!  wHAGONBLAster SHALL ROLL ON 10-10-10

Buffalo Rumblings The most underestimated and overlooked part of the Bills

As the season opener gets closer I have had occasion to think about the Team, our potential and hopes for an improved, perhaps winning, season.  Having been a season ticket holder for well over 20 years prior to my relocation to the south in 2003, something dawned on me that is hardly ever talked about as being instrumental to the success of our team...the 12th man.  I can recall when 8-8 was almost a given because not many teams could handle what the greatest fans in the NFL would dish out on Sunday afternoons.  Combined with poor weather (I recall a game against the Jets where the wind chill was -42 degrees), the passionate and crazed fans of Buffalo wreaked havoc on opposing QB's, Offensive lines and coordinators who would try to adjust and audible without very much luck.  So much were the fans a part of the success the Bills enjoyed in the late 80's through the 90's that players such as Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith would take to the airwaves of 97 Rock, Wgr, Channel 7 or whatever media outlet they were appearing on to implore the fans to be as loud as possible.  Ahhh, those were the days!

It is those memories that prompted this fan post for me to encourage each and every person who will be attending games this seasons to do their part to make playing in our house the most miserable experience ever for opposing offenses.  While I no longer can attend games (until the Jags game in October!), I still scream my damn fool head off as much as possible and will continue to do so.  For younger readers looking at this post who don't remember the old days or who may not have been at the stadium, all I can say is the din from the crowd left a ringing in your ears for 2 days and I was lucky to have a fully functional voice for the following Sunday's game.  It was truly a site to behold and the friendships that came out of the camaraderie last to this day.

So my friends, get out there, support the team, make it as loud as possible for the (insert team name here) offense(particularly on 3rd down) and look to the South End Zone........... The 12th man is on that wall for a reason.... carry on the tradition!   LET'S GO BUFFALO!

Buffalo Rumblings It's On Now!

As of this moment I (and probably many of you) officially hate the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots & the New York Jets (or anything to do with the aforementioned)!  It's time for REAL football to start and I am so jacked to ride the Harley to our favorite bar/grill each and every Sunday sporting my Bills paraphernalia to watch our team play (except the Jags game where I will be 18 rows off the 30 yard line at the Ralph).  Here's hoping that the building blocks that have been placed by the Good Ole Boys remain solid and progress through the course of the season.  While I have maintained all along that the Bills can win 10 games, with all of the questions marks still left on the team I know that it is unlikely.  That being said, there are very few things in life that can be called a slam dunk and I expect to be surprised on a few occasions this year.  So my fellow Bills Fan Brethren, with proper credit being given to our friend Abayarde........ Hop on the WhagonBlaster or be run over by it!  Let's Go Buffalo!!!!!!!

Buffalo Rumblings WR question

This is my first FanPost and perhaps this has been discussed before, if so I apologize in advance.  What is the general consensus out there regarding Javon Walker?  I know he performed well in Green Bay back in the day but was pretty much a non-factor for Oakland.  Is there anything left in the tank on this guy?  Is he worth bringing in since it wouldn't cost us anything?  Just kind of curious about what the story is on him and what everyone thinks.

Buffalo Rumblings Special Teams Coach

I recently heard that Bruce DeHaven is out as special teams coach in Seattle as Pete Carroll brought in his own guy (I think from USC).  If anyone could verify this for me it would be appreciated.  Also, would you all consider him to be the best candidate available for this position as it is, IMHO, as equally an important phase of the game as the O & D? Is there someone else that bears consideration?

Buffalo Rumblings Speculation

I am quite aware that every year the Philadelphia fan base cries out for the head of Donovan McNabb, however, his exit seems more likely this year to me for some reason.  Not that I have any specific information, let's just call it a hunch.  My question is....... Would he be a good fit here (assuming we could land him) and would the Eagles be someone who might be interested in a trade for Marshawn or someone else (defensive player maybe)?

Buffalo Rumblings Is it Freddie's Time?

I am putting this post out there with the following caveats.... (1) I am a big Fred Jackson Fan, (2) I like the small college/underdog stories that work out well (Kutztown State anyone?), and (3) I just wanted to get some thoughts from everyone in the Rumble House on my idle mind wanderings.
