The 2009 Elias Rankings have been released, and Ed Price of AOL FanHouse has a full list of the Type-A and B free agents.

* Chone Figgins qualifies as a Type-A, not a Type-B as projected.
* Melvin Mora qualifies as a Type-A, not a Type-B as projected.
* Vladimir Guerrero qualifies as a Type-B, not a Type-A as projected.
* Gregg Zaun from no compensation to Type-B.
* Jerry Hairston Jr. from Type-B to no compensation.
* Hideki Matsui from Type-B to no compensation.
* Aubrey Huff from Type-B to no compensation.

Does this change how we deal with both Figgins and Vlad?

2010 Top 50 Free Agents or so says MLBTraderumors

1. Matt Holliday - Mets. The Mets could grab headlines by signing Holliday to a six or seven-year deal for more than $100MM.

2. John Lackey - Yankees. Last winter's strategy of signing the best two starters and the best hitter available contributed to the Yankees' World Series title. With rotation question marks after C.C. Sabathia and A.J. Burnett, it makes sense that the Yanks will pursue the best available starter in Lackey.

3. Jason Bay - Red Sox. It's been rumored the Red Sox are willing to offer four years and $60MM to Bay. That seems to be a fair opening bid, given his defensive struggles.

4. Chone Figgins - Angels. The Angels have internal options at third base, but he'd be hard to let go after a career-high .395 OBP and excellent defense at the hot corner.

5. Randy Wolf - Mets. The Mets regrettably chose Oliver Perez over Wolf a year ago. As the best available starter aside from Lackey, Wolf is primed to get a three-year deal worth more than $30MM.

Do we go 3 man or 4 man rotation in the Playoffs?

With Saunders regaining form, Weaver turning it around, Kazmir pitching well, and Lackey looking great, is it better to use the old 3 man rotation? And who starts and who goes to the bullpen. Or do we use a 4 man and add just one more name into the bullpen.

Does anyone follow the National Wrestling Alliance? They ARE still around. Some people thought the NWA was finished after NWA and TNA ended their business relationship. But they are still around with big territories in California, Maine, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia, with other territories in the Mid West, Southwest, and the Mid-Atlantic.

Arroyo And Harang Clear Waivers

Now I'm not entirely sold on Bronson Arroyo, but Aaron Harang is available. I'm not sure what the Reds are looking for, but we were ready to deal S-Rod and Arrendondo with O'Sullivan for Heath Bell. Maybe a deal of S-Rod and Shane Loux for Harang.

There will probably be a bunch of moves today. Lets talk about all of them here. And how the moves could impact the Angels here. We've already missed out on George Sherrill, Cliff Lee, what moves do we think will happen? What our are needs? According to MLBTradeRumors who are quoting Seattle ESPN Radio, Jarrod Washburn is heading to the Detroit Tigers. That should slow down the momentum of the Seattle Mariners. I thought for sure he was going to end up in New York. There were a lot of talks last year as well as this year. Is this enough to get the Tigers into the Post Season?

The Tigers acquired pitcher Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners for pitchers Luke French and Mauricio Robles.

The Twins acquired shortstop Orlando Cabrera from the A’s for shortstop Tyler Ladendorf.

The Brewers acquired pitcher Claudio Vargas from the Dodgers for catcher Vinny Rottino.

The Red Sox are this°close to landing Victor Martinez from the Indians... Justin Masterson and prospects?

Angels owner Arte Moreno said today that the club remains interested in acquiring an ace starter and has not heard anything that would preclude the pursuit of the likes of Toronto's Roy Halladay and Cleveland's Cliff Lee.

MLB Trade Rumors discusses moving Adrian Gonzales

Gonzalez could command a Mark Teixeira-esque haul. Do the Angels make such an offer? During this season, I have been pleasantly surprised that Acuda's Man Crush, Kendry Morales has exceeded most expectations. But Adrian Gonzales, who has a contract that runs through 2010 with the club holding an option for 2011 at $5.5 million and the big bat many Angels fans have been dreaming of. Contrary to making deals with the Diamond Backs for Harden and Blue Jays for Halladay, the Padres will be looking for low priced MLB ready talent and not necessarily prospects. Howie Kendrick, Eric Aybar, Shane Loux, and Garry Matthews Jr., with a lot of salary relief, or Reggie Willits or Sean Rodriguez. This would give the Padres a very young and affordable middle infield. Shane Loux could develop into a back of the rotation starter or a middle reliever. Aybar can add strength in defense and maybe a change of scenery could help Howie Kendrick. S-Rod could become a super-utility player or Matthews could add some veteran leadership and again, a change of scenery might help his play. In turn the Angels could move Morales to Right.
