BREAKING: Vince Orlando-bound?

The New Jersey Nets are in serious talks with the Magic about a deal that will send Vince Carter to Orlando for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie and Courtney Lee, two league sources told ESPN.com.

The talks have reached a point that a deal could be done by the end of the day Thursday, according to sources.

The trade would give the Magic even more star power on their quest to win an NBA championship. The addition of Carter to a lineup that already consists of All-Star players Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson would make them the favorites to win the Eastern Conference title next year.

As for the Nets, the move is a cost-cutting measure. Both Alston and Battie are in the last year of their contracts, and trading for them would shave $16.5 million off New Jersey's roster in the summer of 2010 and put the Nets well below the salary cap.

The deal, if completed, would also give the Nets a young, promising shooting guard in Lee.

The trade is Richard Jefferson to the Spurs for Bruce Bowen, Fabricio Oberto and Kurt Thomas ... more coming in just a second. Deal is agreed to in principle with a trade call coming later today

The Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Bobcats have reached an agreement in principle on a new trade after last week's collapse of a three-way deal with theOklahoma City Thunder, according to NBA front-office sources.

This one, however, does not involve Bobcats guard Raymond Felton.

Sources told ESPN.com on Friday that the Mavericks and Bobcats are close to completing a deal that would send Dallas center DeSagana Diop to Charlotte for guard Matt Carroll and center Ryan Hollins.

Pick-up basketball

I know this seems kind of random, but please just humor me. I live in Collin County and it the only good games I can find are at places like LA fitness or Lifetime fitness. Occasionally there is some good competition at random recreation centers but nothing reliable, especially on weekends. I don't know if this is because I am a loser or just because pick-up ball seems to be dying. Anyways, if anyone knows of some great games around here, feel free to post them in the comments.

Blogabull Kidd trade proposal

Would you do this? Would Cuban ever consider a deal like this? Personally, I would pull the trigger in a second if I was the Dallas FO seeing as how we would be killing two birds with one stone (Our PG plans past next year and the huge hole we have at SG)
