Blake Griffin Injures Knee in Team USA Scrimmage...

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA Blake Griffin hurt his knee in a Team USA scrimmage Wednesday and is returning to LA to be examined by team doctors, sources tell Y! Sports. Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA USA Basketball has summoned Anthony Davis to report to Las Vegas for training camp immediately, sources tell Y! Sports. Jayq's original title was "BG injured his knee... oh please no..." Rather than put up a new post, I edited the title to reflect the reality: What we know is that Griffin injured his knee and is headed back to LA. That's it. Of course we all feel the "oh please no" part, but... let's wait and see what happens. 11:28 update from Sam Amick: "...source confirms Clippers F Blake Griffin suffered a left knee injury yesterday at Team USA camp. "Not good," the source said when asked how bad it is."

Team USA latest: Blake Griffin, Lamar Odom and Anthony Davis to spend July 4 holiday with Coach K in Vegas

Blake Griffin, Lamar Odom and Anthony Davis will be spending the July 4th holiday with Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski, auditioning for spots on this summer's Olympic team one day before the official start of training camp. USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo told ESPN.com that an earlier plan to have Griffin and Odom get their health status updated and work out for Krzyzewski and the rest of the coaching staff on the Duke campus this week was scrapped and replaced by the new schedule, which will bring all three big men into Las Vegas just ahead of the July 5 reporting date for the other 15 healthy players on the roster. The only healthy big men regarded as sure bets for the final roster are Miami's Chris Bosh, New York's Tyson Chandler and Minnesota's Kevin Love. It's believed that at least one more big man will be added from the trio of Griffin, Odom and Davis, who is the only Team USA invitee with no NBA experience.

Mo Williams, Clippers try to 'find a solution'

From Ramona Shelburne at ESPNLA: Williams' agent Mark Bartelstein told ESPNLosAngeles.com Wednesday night that he and the Clippers are trying to "find a solution" to the situation. Namely, Williams is a former All-Star point guard who spent most of last season playing out of position at shooting guard and coming off the bench following the trade for Chris Paul and the acquisition of Chauncey Billups. "Mo's a professional and I think he showed that last season," Bartelstein said. "He had a great year under difficult circumstances. That said, he's a starting point guard. He's an All-Star starting point guard. So we'll look at everything and see what makes sense." Two sources close to the process said it was unlikely the team would have a new GM in place before next Thursday's draft, but that it was more likely the situation would be resolved near the beginning of free agency.

Clipper's GM Search Not Serious?

If this is true, then I should shut myself in the restroom and cry a waterfall! ramonashelburne @ramonashelburne Lot of names floating around Clippers GM search, but that's mostly bc whole NBA was in Chicago this week. Search hasn't gotten serious yet

Clippers: Don't Panic, We Have a Trio of Experienced Personnel

Kind of sounds like we are not signing a GM. From the article: The day-to-day basketball operations will be handled by a trio of experienced personnel with years of experience in the organization ensuring stability – President Andy Roeser, Head Coach Vinny Del Negro, and Director of Player Personnel Gary Sacks.

USA Basketball has until July 7 to decide on a final roster. Odom and Griffin are going to Durham, N.C., in late June to work out with head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Nick Young has that Clipper Spirit

I just wanted to share Nick Young's twitter status with everyone. He posted a picture of himself (of course) with a fresh haircut with a Clipper hat! This was posted yesterday afternoon. If this does not show Nick's willingness to re-sign with his home team then I dunno what does. Also, I want to point out that Nick Young was a Restricted Free Agent last offseason and signed a Qualifying Offer of $3,695,857 with the Wizards. http://www.spotrac.com/nba/los-angeles-clippers/nick-young/ The way the new CBA is structure, a player like Nick Young is likely to get roughly $5 million (per year) this offseason. Regardless of Nick's great playoff showing this year, I feel like no (major) team will throw him big money, especially since there may be doubts about his usage percentage. But, all that Nick is guilty of is having major swag. I also want to point out that this is the same player who choose the less known basketball college (USC) over the big name basketball college (UCLA). Nick is the guy who essentially represents the underdog spirit of the Clippers. I am more than sure that he will be willing to come back! Swaggy P FTW!

ESPN: The trouble with Vinny Del Negro

Bits and pieces from this spot-on article: This is a team that doesn't know what it is. And there is little evidence that Vinny Del Negro, the person in charge with forging the Clippers' identity, has the imagination and direction to cultivate one, despite being furnished with an impressive collection of talent. Del Negro has never claimed to be a strategist. He maintains that every team in the league runs the same basic stuff, and feels that giving players the freedom and confidence to work their strengths is his primary responsibility as coach. "I think it's important for guys to go out there and play off instinct instead of, 'Go here, go there,' or whatever," Del Negro said recently. "I like guys to play. I like guys to get a feel for what we're doing and how we're doing it and work off the instinct and play. I think guys enjoy the game that way a little bit better. Some guys you have to put into specific spots, whether it's because of a skill level or a strength or a weakness or whatever, but you want your guys mainly to just go out there and know what the game plan is and be able to execute it at both ends."

Article on why the Clippers Can't Score Anymore

This part is just hilarious: "Perhaps the reason why newcomers are able to play so many minutes for the Clippers within hours of joining the team is the offense is as simplistic as something you’d find in a high school game. The playbook seems more like a play pamphlet when you watch the Clippers at times and that clearly isn’t lost on the rest of the league which has 45 games of film on how to curtail Lob City."

Billups is Back Tonight!

5. Billups back: Since he was lost for the season last month with a ruptured Achilles tendon, Chauncey Billups’ jersey has hung in the Clippers’ locker room on game days, home and away. Billups will actually be sitting his locker room this week as he is expected to return to the team Wednesday and be on the sideline for the game against Atlanta as he continues his rehab in Los Angeles. While he will not be able to play again this season, just his presence in the locker room and on the bench could help the Clippers as they try to break out of the funk they’ve been in since Billups left. "Hopefully he can help cheer us on when he's here," Paul said. "I hope he can help."

Courtney Lee with the 3-pt Game Winner for the Rockets

I just finished watching the Rockets-Thunder game and wow, Courtney Lee is a really good player, He has a high basketball IQ and hardly takes bad shots. He also hit the game winner. Check the box score for his stats which are really good across the board. BTW, I don't see why the Rockets want to trade Lee. But if he is available, I would honestly take him over Crawford any day. But, what if Kevin Martin is available? I know he play no defense, but his offense... This is what a Houston reporter tweeted when he heard Kevin Martin would be out tonight with an "injury:" Jonathan Feigen ‏ @Jonathan_Feigen Close Hearing that Kevin Martin, sitting out tonight with a strained right shoulder, has been very much in Rockets trade talks.

Bill Simmons on the Lakers, Celtics, Clippers, and Vinny

"The real [Clipper] problem is Vinny Del Negro, hired before the 2010-11 season by Clippers owner/skinflint/slumlord Donald Sterling because the Bulls were paying half of Del Negro's salary. You get what you pay for. As I tweeted last week, I don't think the Clippers necessarily need to fire Vinny — they can simply demote him to assistant, or add him as the third man in the TV booth. He doesn't need to go away entirely. He just needs to, you know, stop being the head coach." Bill Simmons is right on!

Talking Women and Sex with Donald T. Sterling, Under Oath

This is a must read article! I never knew that Alvin Gentry was hired after a conversation DTS had with his then-mistress.
