I just returned from a week long sports road trip (mainly Jays) and thought I'd share some fun/interesting hi-lites.

- April 14 attended Flyers Sabers game in Philly. Philadelphia fans are as nasty and ruthless as advertised! What a great environment though! Flyers lost but still worth the admission.

April 15- Yankees vs. Rangers - I had fairly high expectations for the New Yankee Stadium and came away un-impressed. I couldn't help but get the impression they tried too hard to bring over the traditions etc. from the old park.

April 16- Drove to Boston for Jays vs. Red Sox. Anyone who hasn't visited Fenway this is a MUST. I grew up going to Roger's Center and obviously there's no way to compare the two. The atmosphere is second to none. As for the game, Jo-Jo started and had a rough start. He managed to settle down and I can see why the Jays are giving him every opportunity to stick with the club. Rivera is brutal. Period. After the game we took off to the Bruins/Habs game where I ran into Jose Bautista and J.P. We stopped and chatted with them and got a photo. Jbau was nice but J.P was really funny. It's clear the novelty of fans pining over him hasn't worn off yet. I congratulated Jbauon the birth of his daughter and told J.P he should be DH'ing on days when he isn't catching. He laughed and said "I can't say anything about that". Great suprise for the game though. Side note: Bruins fans are brutal. I saw a number of Habs fans roughed up. I have no problem with beaking, but when it becomes physical, that's crossing the line.

April 17- Jays vs. Red Sox. Another rough day to be a Jay fan. We wore our Jays gear and got a bit of ridicule but nothing major.

April 18- Jays vs. Red Sox Patriot day. Another rough day. 3 runs in 3 games left us in a bitter mood. Great experience though. After the game we drove to New Britain CT to see the Fisher cats play. We chatted with Gose and d'arnaud, both nice kids. Chatted with Sal Fasano. He seems to have a real calming effect with the kids. Great stadium in New Britain as well. INTERESTING Hi-lite - The New Britain team has a SS who is listed at 5'3. He looks like a child. Moises Sierra was in a run down in the 8th and the little Fella laid a pretty aggressive tag on Moises. Moises lost it!!! He grabbed the kid and was about to throttle him! Benches and bull pens cleared. Moises LITERALLY had to be dragged off the field while trying to punch out a 5'3 guy. Fasano was NOT IMPRESSED.

April 19 and 20- Back to Philly. What a beautiful ball park! Halladay was a treat to see even though he threw a dud. Lee looked a little better but not much. Over all an incredible trip. When in Philly, don't forget to try the cheese steaks! A vacation to remember!

Well we're down to the wire! Curious as to everyones predictions on who stays and who goes. Let's hear it!!!

Going: Buck, Downs, Gregg, Overbay (in august)

Not going: Jbau, Frasor, E5 and anyone else who's been floated around.
I heard rumblings through ESPN that the Jays could be buyers t the deadline. Sounds CRAZY to me. Isn't it nice to have a GM we can trust and have faith in?!?!

J.P in AAA

So as we all know J.P Arencibia is tearing the cover off the ball in AAA for both power and average. It's clear that as long as Buck and Molina are in the majors, there's no room for him. WHAT IF the Jays don't deal Molina or Buck at the deadline (which I'm PRAYING they do). How can you POSSIBLY leave J.P in the minors for the rest of the season? He has a six home run lead on the second place guy!
If a trade doesn't occur, what other options are there?

So with the trade dead line approaching I'd like to know what all the die hards HOPE our everyday line up will look like come Sept. Here's mine.

1b- Wallace (Overbay moved at deadline for mid range prospect)

2b- Hill

3b- Bautista (E5 released or optioned to AAA)

ss- Escobar

C- J.P Arencibia (Buck moved at deadline)

LF- Snider

CF- Wells

RF- Lewis

Starting Six (to rest the arms)

Marcum

Romero

Cecil

Morrow

Drabek

Scrabble or Litsch

We need to get J.P, Wallace and Drabek at least a month of play in so they know what to expect next year. Thoughts??
