Juan Gutierrez Released
From the D'Backs Twitter: "#dbacks have unconditionally released right-handed pitcher Juan Gutierrez".
Arb Avoided with Kelly Johnson
The terms are unknown right now, but KJ asked for 6.5MM while the D'Backs offered 4.7MM.
D'Backs Might Be Nearing Deal With Putz
He would likely be our new closer.
Man, KT sure is active today...
D'Backs shopping Reynolds, looking for relievers and contact hitters
It's in the "Around The Horn" section at the bottom.
To me, this looks bad. I think a big fail might be coming.
Rosales, Zavada outrighted.
They are off the 40-man roster The D'Backs are already trying to resign Zavada.
I don't really understand though. Brian Sweeney deserves a roster spot, but Zavada doesn't? Zavada was great pre-injury.
D'Backs To Pursue Konerko
So we're hoping to get Konerko to replace LaRoche next year. I think he'd be a good signing.
Mets Choose Alderson Over Byrnes
Sandy Alderson beat out ex-D'Backs GM Josh Byrnes for the open Mets GM job. Had the Mets hired him, we would've been off the hook for a small portion of his salary. Was really rooting for JB to win (but not for that reason). I hope Alderson is up to the task of rebuilding that mess.
Towers Hopes To Hire Greg Maddux
Either as a bench coach or pitching coach. I like Towers already.
D'Backs To Start Negotiations With Gibson
It seems the interim tag will be removed pretty soon.
D'Backs Are The Third Most "Watchable" Team In The MLB
No, I don't mean "most watchable if you're playing against the D'Backs." Confused? I was too. Losing isn’t exactly fun to watch -- we're on our way to a second straight last place finish – but as far as bad teams go, the D’Backs are in the highest tier of exciting.
D'Backs Sign Mike Hampton
He will be assigned to AAA Reno.
Giants In Talks For Kelly Johnson
Aw, that stinks.
D'Backs sign Ronny Mejias
The 16 year old Venezuelan shortstop's bonus was $300,000. He's considered one of the better hitters on the market (and he's a switch hitter too), although he probably won't stick at short.
He joins Yorman Garcia as the 2010 D'Backs' international signees.
Chris Young Selected to Participate in Home Run Derby
Chris Young's year just keeps getting better and better. Already selected to the All Star Game in Anaheim, he's also been selected to participate in the State Farm Home Run Derby, according to the Twitter of mlb.com's Steve Gilbert. There, he will be alongside the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera, the Red Sox's Kevin Youkilis, the Blue Jays' Vernon Wells, the Brewers' Corey Hart, the Cardinals' Matt Holliday, and the Marlins' Hanley Ramirez competing for the crown of biggest home run hitter.

Dodgers sign ex-D'Back Trent Oeltjen
Ladies, you feel that? That's all the handsomeness draining out of Trent Oeltjen. He's a Dodger now. Ugh.
D'backs DFA Willis
The Train is at the end of the tracks in AZ.
Florida Marlins strongly considering D'Backs' third base coach Bo Porter for managerial position via John Heyman's twitter.
