The #Jets are bringing in speedy WR Donnie Avery (Rams, Titans) in for a visit, a source confirmed. #freeagency

Per Adam Caplan, Via Twitter Avery was a 2nd round pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2008 after running a 4.3 40-yard dash. He enjoyed a decent first two seasons (amassing 100 receptions, 1263 yards, and 8 TD), but went down in the 2010 preseason with a knee injury and missed the entire 2010. He was on the Tennessee Titans last season, but only registered 3 catches and 1 TD. If his knee is fully healed, he might be the deep-threat that the Jets sorely missed last season.

Per Manish Mehta

"Bills fully expect to sign both Mario Williams and Robert Meachem within the next 24 hours."

20

Don't mean to worry you, Gang Green Nation, but the Bills are making a serious push to sign two major free agents. Wouldn't want to face Super Mario twice a year. Per Buffalo Bills reporter Joe Buscaglia.

Matt Slauson played last season with torn labrum, rotator cuff and bicep.

15

Matt Slauson played very well last season, but was apparently far from 100%. He's having surgery to repair a torn labrum, rotator cuff and bicep, and is expected to take 5-6 months to heal. That runs through the offseason and possibly into the preseason. Definitely something to keep an eye on! Let's all wish Matt a full and speedy recovery, as the Jets offensive line definitely can't afford to lose him.

Don't agree with how they pursued me in 2011 but i just might" Braylon Edwards responding to a fan on twitter. I know many of you are hoping for Bray's return, so this may be a positive turn of events. @OfficialBraylon, via Twitter

After Mark Sanchez threw an interception with 51 seconds in the fourth quarter, essentially icing the game, Giants running back Brandon Jacobs ran onto the field, mocking an airplane — yet another player taking a shot at the Jets' "Fly Boys" celebration. Then, cameras caught Jacobs after the game calling Jets head coach Rex Ryan a "loudmouth bastard." Other remarks about Ryan's frame followed, and Jacobs was heard to say that he went after Ryan "the way his pops went after [Kevin] Gilbride," referring to the infamous sideline spat between Gilbride and Buddy Ryan when both men coached for the Houston Oilers. Of course, Gilbride is the Giants' current offensive coordinator. Per the New York Daily News, Jacobs said that he told Ryan to "shut the [bleep] up," and Ryan then told Jacobs to "Go [bleep] yourself." "Rex Ryan is a disrespectful bastard," Jacobs apparently said. "The Jets have a big-mouthed, big-bellied coach that talks too much." Surprisingly, Ryan took the high road in his response. "We had a private conversation, that's all I'll leave it as. Whatever. He doesn't like me, I respect him, but I could care less about him," Ryan said.
