"Don't be a crybaby" -- Bill Romanowski, criticizing Kyle Orton's comments on Courtland Finnegan and the Titans.
In addition, Romanowski referred to the Broncos offense as "dink and dunk," and noted that not many Broncos are willing to go to that "dark place" necessary to play inspired defense.

Decker's injury to his foot; pre-MRI revealed evidence of pre-existing high ankle sprain
From Rotoworld: "[Josina] Anderson also reports that a pre-MRI detected evidence of a previously existing high ankle sprain. In short, when Decker went down yesterday doctors found both a pre-existing high ankle sprain in addition to a left foot sprain. What does this all mean? If the MRI confirms aggravation of Decker's previous Lisfranc fracture he'll be looking at missing extended time. Any way you cut it things don't look good for Decker."
From Klis: "Marshall has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team." McD will answer questions about the suspension at a press conference today at 11.
Schlereth coming up on the FAN
104.3 FM at about 2 today with Scott and Al. Will likely commiserate with callers about the "garbage" defensive front.
Schlereth follows up a DJ Williams interview in which Williams sounded amped and optimistic about the defense, which he described as the kind of D that will make the offense protect itself from them, rather than vice versa.
Go figure.
The Post's Dave Krieger blasts the Broncos organization on "NFL Total Access."
Among the "arguments" Krieger advances: Brandon Marshall has outplayed his rookie contract and deserves more money now; the Broncos look terrible on paper; teams are supposed to try to GET Pro Bowl players, not trade them away (oh, SNAP!); the Marshall and Cutler situations are of a piece; and the Broncos organization has successfully "demonized" Marshall -- even though it's been their stance thus far to remain silent on the issue of his contract. That, and it certainly wasn't the Broncos front office who has been repeatedly arrested for alleged domestic violence incidents.
Anyway, you get the picture. It was an embarrassing attempt by Krieger to fit in with national pundits, and a compelling argument for the death of media organs like the Post: note how there is no mention from Krieger of Marshall's hip surgery, and no mention that Marshall has a court date coming up in August.
Instead, the suggestion is that McDaniels doesn't want Marshall and that he is intent on destroying the franchise.
Maybe this hack reads the comments threads at his paper.
Epic FAIL for Krieger, and a bitter pill for informed Broncos fans to swallow, as Krieger gives the media some local cachet to bolster their narrative.
Meanwhile, anybody who's been paying attention knows that what we just witnessed was the product of a media feedback loop -- itself a product of laziness and sensationalism.
Pitiful.

Marshall: Bowlen Signals that Marshall will be Traded
"Clearing the Air…
"To whom it may concern. Life is filled with change, and where I am in my life now change is probably best. It’s hard leaving an organization ran by one of the best owners in all of sports, and someone who’s been there for me through my ups and downs. The hardest thing was hearing Mr. B wish me luck in the future, but we both came to the conclusion that this is probably the best thing for me to grow on and off the field.
"I thank the Denver fans who embraced my emotion and play on the field and showing me love every time I step outside my door."
Oakland signs Greg Ellis
I thought he might be a fit here, but Nolan evidently likes what he's seen from Reid, et al.
Newest NFL Fad: Blowing off your bosses' phone calls and text messages
"Landry, though, is not here, and Zorn said he has not been able to reach the third-year player by either telephone or text message.
"'I think it's disappointing to his teammates as well,'" Zorn said."
Dungy questions Bears acquisition of Cutler
"I really think Chicago gave up a lot to get a quarterback who they believe is going to be the final piece of the puzzle. But I am not sure he has won enough to merit that yet."
