July OT Thread #2
I didn't want to be the one to create yet another Fanpost, since I reportedly clogged up the system with my multiple World Cup threads/just kidding/sorta', but my request for someone/anyone to create a July OT Thread #2 went unanswered. Since you can't see July OT Thread #1 on the main page anymore, I thought this might be necessary. If the powers-that-be disagree, please let me know.
I don't have a whole lot more to say, except that the summer is dragging without hockey! And I get to play hostess to my dude's family next week. The house needs a ridiculous amount of cleaning, organization, and preparation. My cat is 18-years old now and drooling incessantly, which should make for a fun topic of conversation for our houseguests.

They're Hiring at the Tank
Just FYI, in case anyone needs a part-time job and wants to help out at the Tank during games. The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 29.
(This is okay as a Fanshot, right?)
World Cup Final
The other World Cup thread got lost or buried, so here's a new one for today's final match between the Netherlands and Spain, in case anyone cares to comment or chat about it. (Don't mean to take up another fanpost - let me know if this is annoying)
The Germany v. Uruguay match was intense and I'm personally happy about Germany's win. That's what Uruguay gets for taking down my Koreans!!!
World Cup Thread
Game Day: USA vs. Ghana
Winner takes on Uruguay in the quarterfinals (Game over for South Korea).
Other links: FIFA's website; Battle of California's US-Ghana Ghameday. It's terrible this time, especially compared to that awesome Slovenia gameday post, but I'll take the draft hangover as an excuse :D
Previous World Cup thread here.
P.S. "Rec" this post so that it doesn't get buried, if you want to keep the convo going for this second round.

Updated July 2:
I believe all the World Cup fever around here has subsided, but use this post to keep the discussion going if you're rooting for... er, whoever's left in the mix. (Go Germany?)

Anyone else following the World Cup? Or is there too much diving for us hockey fans?
Soccer has always been the next best thing to hockey for me, but of course, it's just not the same. And there's too much diving. (Real men don't dive, right?)
Still, this is an interesting year for the World Cup, and I'll be following it intensely as I'm fighting off hockey withdrawals. With an African nation finally getting to play host, the USA having drawn a tie against a formidable English team, and the North Koreans taking on a Brazilian powerhouse today (my bloodroots are involved in this one), this will keep me halfway sane until at least mid-July.
06/26: World Cup thread continues here for the Round of 16
