Behind the Steel Curtain What you talkin bout Willis?!?!

OK so I know the Ben posts are crazy right now and I apologize in advance but bare with me. I'm not really talking about him here anyway, what I really want to know what Steeler nation would think about Patrick Willis in the black and gold!

What if we traded our fallen QB to San Fran (his childhood team) for the best ILB in the NFL. I'm not sure it would be straight up because Superbowl QBs trump freakishly talented LBs, but what ever makes it work.  Ben + Foote for Wills + Smith + late picks?

In any event, I really don't care about the actual trade and value and what not. I care about having my favorite Madden player on our D! Then we could stay at 18 and draft either Wilson or Thomas.  Then depending on who we get we would have only one weak spot that I'm hoping Keenen Lewis could fill (either FS or CB). Our D would be INSANE!!!

DL:  Smith, Hampton, Hood/Kiesel

OLB: Harrison, Woodley

ILB:Willis, Timons

CB:Taylor, Lewis( Wilson), Gay (nickel)

S: Polamalu, Clark (Thomas)

If we got Wilson I think we should try Lewis at FS, he seems more built for that position.

So I guess what I'm proposing is that we just load up on our Defense while Lebau is still here. Iupiati would be nice but Kemo is coming along and we picked Urbik in the 3rd last year, I'd like to see him worked in. We could use Dixon or whatever we get in a trade for a year and see what QB next offseason brings. We would have one of the most talented D's in recent history, I mean even Dilfer and Johnson won Superbowls relying on great defenses.

I know Ben's not going anywhere, but humor me.

Behind the Steel Curtain The "F" word!

No not the cool "F" word you say to sound sophisticated. I mean the one you say every off season, and if you say it more than three times he comes back for "just one more season". That's right I'm talkin bout Brett motha flippin FAVRE!!!

What I don't get is why people get so pissed off about the whole saga, I mean you knew the circus was coming once the weather broke. I for one love the whole thing. From Trent  "mediocre QB" Dilfer talking to him on the cell phone, to the secret meetings with GMs, to the high school gym workout program, to the teary eyed press conferences . C'mon this stuff is classic!

So what do you think? Love it? Hate it? Don't care?

I'm saying it here first...  .Super Bowl XLIV:   Vikings 17  Steelers 35

Behind the Steel Curtain What about this scenerio?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. But I've been reading for a while.

So here goes my scenerio. What if instead of overpaying BMAC and or entertaining the idea of trading Foote (which I'm not totally upposed to save for the fact that we won't get any real value). What if we let BMAC walk and make a serious run at Jason brown. Then stay put in the first round and get Alex Mack. Then get a CB in round two.

This would mean we could have any combo of Hartwig, Brown, and Mack as our interior line, with Stapleton and Legursky as backups. Thats about the most versitile Interior line I can think of, all could play guard or center.

Then our only issue is RT (I believe Starks finally stays put at LT). But we can probably find any bum off the street to replace Colon, and BAM or line lets me sleep at night.

I think with a line like that Big Ben and company will destroy most defenses. So our pass rush can pin their ears back and we might just forget about BMAC in the end.

What do you think?
