How to beat Rinne
I found myself saying, the only octupus on the ice tonight is in the Nashville nets. This guy does not give up easy goals, no gifts. I'd like to know how many of the square inches of net opening he covers with his body, it looks like there is no open spots.
Anyways, I think the Wings got to take him out. They got to come up next game running at him and shooting high around the old coconut. They got to shake up his confidence or get out the golf clubs. I feel bad having to say that but heck as I've heard all this week.....that's playoff hockey, you got to do what you have to do to win cause there is no tommorrow. So if the Wings aren't willing to do that...then why did they struggle to get into the playoffs??? Time to ask the question, boys?
Conference Seedings
Please send to the Board of Govenors. I agree that the eight teams should be seeded by points alone because that third division winner is even worse because they had an easier schedule in the bad division. Both conferences have that one bad division each this year. The seeding should go one more further and that is the first seed should get the additional right to choose from the bottom four. The second seed should get the next choice from the remaing three. The third seed chooses from the remaing two leaving the last two to play each other. This concept can be carried forward to the second round also with the highest seed choosing from the three survivors. A draft type TV show could be contructed around the whole exercise, a very interesting commercial enterprise. GM's could make their choices ahead of time via a priority list in a sealed envelope for the first round and another priority list for the second round in a sealed envelope (of course the highest seeded survivour would be the only envelope opened after round one). I believe it would be a hit and a fair reward for winning your conference and placing second or third.....and finally a just reward for the highest seed surviving round one. With the submissions from the GM's in advance the show could be done right away so the schedulers can get to work on the matchups. What do you think? Govenors are you listening?
Gearing Back
The Wings and Babcock need to sit down and discuss what happened last night. The Wings were all over the Sens until they scored their fifth goal. The problem in in the Wings brains. Everyone is thinking this is a blowout and we don't need to run up the score. That is when trouble begins, they sat back and stopped playing. Ottawa took away the momentum, the shutout and if there was another period would have won the game. Babcock is got to keep these guys playing a full 60 minutes, it's his fault with his do not run up the score philosophy. Great teams do not let the other team back in the game, if that means burying the Sens 10-0 so be it. Thought?
Canucks Conspiracy Theory
http://sportvan.wordpress.com/2010/04/20/there-is-obviously-no-conspiracy-right/
I believe the word has gone out to the refs to make sure the Red Wings do not make it into the Cup finals. Bettman wants certain teams to win the Stanley Cup and he does not want repeaters or dynastys. If we did a statistical study on referrees, there are obvious bias and the way they operate. Refs can call a penalty whenever they want for whatever, there is absolutely no consistency at all. The worst guy to work Wings games are #27 Eric Furlatt, this guy is famous for crafting the outcome. So I think there is a conspiracy against the Red Wings as well.
Modano the bad-luck jinx in 2011
Make a study, the Wings have played badly with Modano in the lineup. Modano, really should of retired last year, his contributions to this year have been little, what has he done, besides providing a nice story? What he has done has mixed up the lines when he is in the lineup, he just doesn't fit in. The team seems tentative when he is there, well what line is he playing on tonight and who has to sit out, Miller or Eaves? They need to sit Mike down and tell him like they did Chelios a few years ago, Mike you have not shown us anything this year and we don't think you can elevate your game to playoff status. Put him behind the bench in a suit.
Ozzie Tribute
Hey, it's great to honour a guy like Ozzie. He is a hall- of- famer for sure and jersey in the rafters. The Wings organization is first class, and it's great to honour his beautiful family as well. I'm sure he would have been a career Red Wing if both parties would have tried a little harder during those contract talks. Kudos to the organization for bringing him back to finish his career.
Trade Hudler for Draft Picks
I am usually not a trade guy but its time to make an exception. This guy jumped the team last year and I don't even know why we took him back. Obviously he lost something on the other side of the Atlantic. I have no problem trading a guy who has no loyalties. I'm sure Ken is already shopping him, Hudler may be a better fit on Steve's team in Tampa. He may fit well with Marty St. Louis. Anyway, get what we can and eliminate an attitude problem.
Yzerman on Top
Everything that Yzerman fans expected is turning out pure gold. Yes the Captain has got his team in first place in the East. I have watched the rag tag Bolts in each game and somehow they get it done. They look like a group of swarming bees and their coach looks like a mobster you would not want to cross. Goaltending is scary but hey, at least the puck gets stopped. I can see the Tampa attendance increasing this winter with displaced Wing fans, I have already booked a $6. seat to see Colorado in December. I'm still hoping that we can forge an alliance with the Bolts, sort of the best of the North and the best of the South. Anyways, great for us snow birds and possibly a Stanley Cup rivalry I hope.

Training Camp Roster
Take a look at our loaded roster, lots of beef and height there! But I'm wanting Drew Miller to spend a little time with Chelli in the weight room.
Any chance one of our 22 year olds makes the team?
We have a 40 year old leader on defense and a 40 year old leader on forward. I never new Modano was as big as his stats say he is, so now besides BIG Bert we have BIG Mikey.
Yzerman Connection
If I was Kenny or I could get into his head, we have an old friend in Tampa Bay. I would partner up with Steve, he may want say a Maltby or a Meech or maybe a Draper if these boys want to carry on. Steve could use the winning experience, hey even a draft choice is better than losing a guy with promise on waivers. And Tampa Bay is in the East so, not much of a gamble. In fact Tampa Bay may have something the Wings may be interested in for the farm. Hey, just imagine a Red Wing – Lightening final, that’s my want…. because Steve will always be in our hearts… I’m pulling for his team, except when they play the Wings but our guys had better be ready or the snickers will come from the TB exec. box
