I came across this report reading Geoff Lepper's blog 48minutes.net (a must read blog for warrior fans). He points to a report from hoopsworld.com claiming that Monta Ellis may miss the entire season. Bill Ingram from Hoopsworld goes on to state that if Ellis were to miss the season, the Warriors would consider voiding his contract all together. Does anyone have any input on this or know how much truth this rumor carries? Pree, are you around to give us some insight on what you are hearing? This is a disaster if true.

Here's an excerpt from Ingram's report.

"In the wake of the news that the Golden State Warriors have suspended Monta Ellis for the moped accident that violated his NBA contract and put the guard out of actions for months, we now have reports coming out that suggest the injury might cause Ellis to miss the entire season. Further, if that is the case, the Warriors will consider negating Ellis' brand new contract altogther, which is their right under the Collective Bargaining Agreement."

Goodbye To The Most Memorable Warrior Team of My Lifetime

I'm 24 years old and have been following the Warriors ever since I can remember. I am a die hard of the die hard and am sitting here in complete shock today as news trickles down about the departure of Baron Davis. I rarely write/post on here but I feel compelled to write some thoughts down about Baron Davis as his Golden State career comes to an end.

Baron was the heart, soul, and savior of the Golden State Warriors. He was so beloved and captivated everyone with his passion on and off the court. He made us all believe and took our doormat laughing stock of a franchise to the most exciting, hi-octane machine in the league. He not only captivated Northern Californians, but he captured the entire nation with the Dallas series. Everyone in the country, except Dallas fans, had the Warriors in a special place in their heart in the 07 playoffs and we were America's team for that brief moment in time. Baron Davis' electric and infectious personality/determination on the court were so awe inspiring that we actually became a hot trend and sports darling. Snoop Dogg/Jessica Alba/Owen Wilson? Who would have thought that it would ever have been cool to become a Warriors fan?

I still remember the day I was watching ESPN hotlist and saw a breaking news update from Marc Stein as he reported that the Warriors and Hornets had reached a deal that would send Diddy to the Dubs for Dale Davis/Speedy Claxton. I knew back then how big of a deal it was to bring in Baron Davis and it was the first day that I really started Believing. It is only fitting that Marc Stein broke the story today of Baron's departure and as I sit here writing this, I feel like this wasn't the way it was supposed to be. This breakup happened too suddenly/quickly and has made me lose faith in all the work Mulson has done in bringing this squad back to respectability.

I will never know how good we could have actually been. I feel like our team was extremely starcrossed and our timing was destined for failure. I will always wonder what could have been if we had gotten that star power forward. I feel like Mully/Nelson were so close to putting together the finall pieces and were one good luck deal away from being real title contenders. Now everything seems to have been destroyed and the divine plan has crumbled. How can Nelly come back if we are in rebuilding mode? He wouldn't let Wright/Belinelli see the floor last year and wants to win before he retires. This opt out has singlehandedly stuck a dagger in our plan.

Baron got out of dodge quickly. There must have been more to the benching at the Phoenix game that Nelly didn't divulge to the fans. This can't be all about more years. As a fan, I feel like I deserve to know what happened, but realistically realize that I may never know the answers as we all know how good Nelson is at being elusive and deceptive with the media.

I feel like the Warriors are not prepared to deal with this bold statement by Baron. They never thought he would walk and are now stunned that the heart and soul has left, taking the hopes of Bay Area basketball with him. Not only did he walk, but he walked to a division rival where we will have the honor of seeing him 4 times a year and he will dominate us just like he does the Hornets and any other team that gives him reason to have a chip on his shoulder. Baron has his star power forward now. He has his weapons. We know how dangerous he can be, but with a full arsenal, he's going to be flat out scary.

I haven't let this all digest and sink in yet. I want more answers and am waiting to see what type of moves we make in the coming weeks. I know that Mully must be scrambling right now. He was scheduled to be a guest on the Razor and Mr. T today but canceled. Today marks the end of an era, but how can it be a better beginning?

Poll: Do You Want to Trade Monta??

I have decided to make this poll in regard to Sleepy Freud's response to OptionZero in the thread
"History: Ellis High-School Stats ! (pretty amazing)". How many Gsomers are open to trading Monta? Personally, I am a "Hell No! KG Is Nice but It's Monta!" guy myself, but I am sure that there will be a variety of responses. Come out to the polls and let your voice be heard. Vote or Die!!

[Moderator's Note, by OptionZero:]

Merging this diary and jayknocc's, since both insist on making an issue out of this:

Originally posted by jayknocc:

he put up 38.4 points, 6.8 assists, 7.9 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game, while shooting 80.0% on free-throws, 46.0% on field goals and 48.0% on three-pointers. that's pretty crazy ! 40 points pergame ain't no joke ! he was also named Parade Magazine Top Player Of The Year along with this years number one pick, Greg Oden !

Rumor: Warriors and Juan Carlos Navarro

During my daily check of hoopshype I came across an article that lists the Warriors as one of seven teams with interest in Juan Carlos Navarro. The article is in Spanish so if anyone can translate that would be very much appreciated. I'm having an issue with the link but if you go to hoopshype and scroll down a little bit you will see the link. Pree, have you heard of anything regarding JCN?

Thoughts of KG from a Garnett addict

First off, let me just say that I love KG. My Goldenstateofmind screenname is 50% Kevin Garnett dedicated and thoughts of him consume my day a little too much for a 23 year old straight male. I am taking summer school right now so I have a class that goes on for a little over 2 hours. We get a 10 minute break after the first hour. So what do I do during this break? Run to the computer lab to check gsom and espn to see if KG is a Warrior. When I wake up in the morning with smelly morning breath and a full bladder waiting to be relieved, I don't run to the bathroom. I grab my lap top and check gsom and espn to see if Mully/Nelly and Mchale were up late hashing out a KG deal. I can't listen to music in my car anymore. It's KNBR 24/7. Fitz, Brooks, Ralph and Tom all the time. I sit through Sabercat football updates/SF Giant banter (I'm an A's fan) hoping to hear anything Garnett related. I check hoopshype, realgm, espn message boards, basketballboards.net, truehoop,cbssportsline.com, cnnsi.com, foxsports.com, yahoo sports, tim kawakami blogs at the merc, hotcocoa, sfgate.com,marcus thompson III blogs, goldenstateofmind, and kevingarnett.com for anything Big Ticket/Warrior related. The only movies I watch lately are KG highlight videos on youtube. I have visions of a Garnett The City throwback and believe it will be the most aesthetically pleasing jersey of all time, and everytime I close my eyes, I see Kevin Garnett fairies dancing in my head. My man love for KG is terror alert red. Despite all of this, I have reached a point where giving up Monta Ellis for KG is too much.

Stop for a second and picture Monta Ellis at 26 years old. The kid will probably be 25-30 lbs heavier full of muscle. He will be insaneley quick, more developed with his ball handling, and posterizing Leandro Barbosa's cousins. Monta as a vet is flat out scary. He is already schooling seasoned pros and he's only 2 years out of high school. Monta will be holding clinics and putting up 25-30 ppg easy.

After losing Gilbert Arenas, I fell into a severe NBA/Warrior depression. I had been clinically warrior depressed from the past decade but the Gilbert loss took me to a dark place. Luckily I got some prozac in the form of Baron Davis and am feeling perky about the club these days, but I don't think I can fathom seeing Monta dominate for the next 15 years in exchange for 3-4 years of KG and a possible title. I was talking to my friend about Monta and KG and we came up with an analogy that suits the situation.

Monta Ellis is the young, extremeley hot but baby faced girl that wants a relationship with you and can see herself marrying you. You are all she knows and she is madly in love with you. She is a little underdeveloped but you know that in time, she will go from young adult to majestic woman. She knows how to cook, will do your laundry, and your mom loves her. She doesn't look at other guys and will be by your side through thick and thin. You know you can cheat on her but she will come back because she loves you. Then you got KG.

KG is your really really hot Milf that lives next door. She was a former Miss Montana and posed for playboy. She has a husband but every guy knows that she would cheat on him for pure thrill and experience. She won't get with any guy though. She posed for Playboy and has her standards. The other day you were out washing your car and she was watering her garden. You caught her giving you those ** me eyes and know that you have a shot and can't believe it. You know that you can have fun with this Milf. She has a husband already and doesn't want to leave her situation, but she wouldn't mind messing around with a new, younger guy that might be able to take her to the mountain top for a little bit. You know that bagging this broad would make you the talk of the town and elevate your game with women to new plateaus. How can you resist?
