What should JimR do on Sunday?
OK, look, the current situation on this site is getting so out-of-hand that it's totally ridiculous! You know what I'm talking about. I shouldn't have to spell it out for you. You're all spending so much time debating the same old arguments over and over and over again about the Quarterback Formerly Known as YouKnowWho that it's getting incredibly boring and driving yours truly over the edge. I can't take it anymore!! So, as my first act of total insanity, and in order to give the rest of you crazy people something different to do with your copious spare time, I am generously providing you all with a new poll to occupy some of that time.
Bud, Jeff, Vince, Money and Madness
OK, while everybody is battling it out in today's Morning Links to see who can be the most outraged over how VY cussed out Fisher and stormed out of the locker room after the Washington game, maybe those of us who are interested in moving on can talk about how all this is likely to play out in the offseason. For me, the first given is that Vince Young has to be traded or cut. Unless Bud Adams really has gone both senile AND crazy, there's no way he can rationally decide to keep Young. Who would coach him? Who would want to be his teammate? Who would attend the games in Nashville except to boo? Anyway, the point is that:
There is one sliver of good news
We're still only one game out of first place in our Division
Let's say farewell to VY - quickly
Barring some bizarre intervention by Bud Adams, the Vince Young era with the Titans is over. We have all expended so much time and energy over the past five years debating VY's performance, behavior and role as the future quarterback, that it seems like this is a good time to put all the drama to rest quickly and move on to the discussions about who the new back-up QB should be and about all the other issues the team is facing to finish out the season. Regardless of whether you think Fisher is the bad guy, Vince is the bad guy, or they both are, it's all history now. It's time to move on. Enough is enough on the Vince Young drama debate.
Where did our love go?!?!?
My guess is that there hasn't been much of this since Sunday. :-)

Ross Tucker: Is VY Right For The Titans?
OK, maybe this seems extreme to most of us (or maybe not), but I am a little surprised by how many writers and bloggers are saying this should be it for VY with the Titans. I was also struck, but not surprised, by how Fisher is not giving VY any support at all.
Just say (blank) to TO
OK, many of us recently agreed to disagree over whether adding TO to the Titans roster would be a good idea. So, let's check the numbers:
How to get in shape for the regular season
We are now in the dreaded off-season doldrums between the draft and the first exhibition game. Boredom and complacency are rampant! Everybody's going off the deep end debating CJ's contract. Plus, we have all seen what happened to Kenny Britt when he didn't keep up with his conditioning. Don't let it happen to you.
Think of the awful things that could happen if you don't get in shape and stay in shape for the regular season. When September rolls around, you could be so slow typing in your game thread comments that nine other people have already posted the same pithy observation by the time you do. You might sprain your wrist quaffing a brew or spend all Sunday afternoon trying to find a station carrying the game. You may find that you have forgotten all the stats and/or plays from last year you think will prove that brilliant point you want to post. Or, worst of all, you could pull a hamstring running to the fridge during a time out.
Nuff said.

Titans Young Should Give Cutler Hope
You gotta love this headline!
Please trade Vince!!
Look, I am a huge fan of BOTH the Titans AND VY, but I don’t think those two things necessarily have to go together. It sure looks to me like Vince’s career with the Titans is done, and I think it would be best for both the Titan’s next season and for Vince’s career, if he were traded to another team.
And, I don’t think that reflects badly on either one of them. I am a University of Texas Ex still living here in Austin. I attended every home game Vince started as a Longhorn, and I have watched every Titan game I could manage to find at a sports bar in Austin for the last three years. I love watching the Titans play, with or without Vince. But, I am also very confident Vince can play ball at a high level in the NFL. I just don’t think his style of play and particular set of strengths are a good fit at all with the type of offense Fisher and the Titans run.
The Titans did the right thing bringing Kerry back for two more years. Unlike Vince, he is an excellent fit with the team’s style of offense, and his 2008 performance more than earned him the permanent starting job, the team’s confidence, and maybe even his $12M contract for the next two years. Unless Kerry falls off his tractor and breaks a leg, Vince is going to be riding the bench until he is traded or cut, anyway. So, why not do it now?
OK, OK, I have been reading MCM long enough to know what you are all going to say. Vince is not going to get traded now because: 1) the structure of his contract and the cap makes it impractical, 2) Bud Adams still supports him, and 3) there may not be any real market for him. I just hate to see a really talented guy spend another year or two on the bench. What a waste!! (Plus, selfishly, I love to watch him play.)
So, I am just asking, hypothetically, if there were some way to make it happen, don’t you all think that both the Titans and Vince would be better off if he were traded?
