This is just a little pointer for those who are driven insane by the worthless garbage from Bleacher Report showing up in your Google News searches.

Since Google allows for boolean searches, simply put a - before bleacher in your search. This will remove all Bleacher Report posts from your results.

This is a small post which is why I didn't make it a FanPost, if I'm in the wrong lemme know.

While following the draft (drinking) many PPPers were on the Draft Day Open Thread. Fellow PPPer nhlcheapshot made a prediction that our favourite Leaf that we're sick of hearing about, Tomas Kaberle, would be traded by July 7th at 1:00pm (EST). This gave me an idea that would (possibly, not likely) make us less sick of hearing about Kaberle's imminent departure from our team in the coming weeks.

So, let's have a friendly competition, Price Is Right style.

It's been a long time. It's been a damn long time. The Montreal win tonight hurt. This whole playoffs hurt. Look at our options; we've gotta cheer for perennial douche-nozzle Pronger to beat the Habs in the East, and in the West we don't know whether to cheer for the drought-busting Blackhawks or the Sharks because perennial douche-nozzle-part-deux Heatley screwing Ottawa would be vengefully delicious. In light of these awful times I've been scouring the depths of YouTube for some blue-and-white hope. This is one of the better vids I've found so far. Cheers guys and gals, things are looking up.

I keep reading articles about Leafs fans. Most of these articles look down their long noses at Leafs fans for not jumping on the bandwagon of other Canadian NHL teams in the playoffs. A Canadian team hasn't won the big prize since 1993 - oh the humanity!

I don't care if another Canadian team other than the Leafs wins the Cup ever again. Well, maybe Calgary, but they're mostly ex-Leafs players anyway.

Imagine (might have to imagine pretty hard) that Toronto is the only Canadian team to make the playoffs one year. Do you think a fanatical Habs fan is going to start chanting "Go Leafs Go"? Are the fine people of Vancouver going to set their PVRs every other night so they can hope to witness a Leafs victory? No. No they're not. But nobody's going to chastise those fans for being unpatriotic hockey fans because they don't want the Leafs to win.

Team loyalty is intangible, but it's so important. I am a Toronto Maple Leafs fan through thick and thin. It's been thin for a long time, but that's the price of fandom. When things get better, victory will be that much better. I can't just start cheering for another team because it's convenient, like most ex-pat Leafs-turned-Senators fans.

In my eyes, if the Canucks or Senators, or whoever, ever wins the Cup, their fans will just use it as ammunition against Leafs fans. As if we don't get enough "Maple Laffs" jokes, or "must be Autumn cuz the Leafs are falling!" comedic gems. Interesting fact: the Leafs have won more playoff games than any other Canadian team over the past 20 years. The Canucks and Senators have never won a Cup* and somehow they can berate Leafs fans for not winning in 40+ years? Imagine if they did win. It would be unbearable.

Another quick point; the team currently in the playoffs with the most Canadian players is Philadelphia. I love my country but it'll be a cold day in hell when I hope for the Flyers to win anything of consequence.

So there you have it. I'm not cheering for the Canucks because I'm a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. It has nothing to do with patriotism, it has everything to do with loyalty.

*A different team called the Ottawa Senators won a Stanley Cup like 80 years ago, a team related to the modern incarnation of the Ottawa Senators in name only.

This could probably be a fanshot but I don't want to link to the article and I have too much to say.

I have mixed feelings about responding to a MSM articles. On one hand I think what they spew bullshit and on the other hand I don't want to give them the pageviews or attention that they engineer their articles to obtain.

But I found this article in the National Post that is so half-assed and ridiculous that I couldn't bite my tongue (typing fingers?). It's by some guy I've never heard of named Joe O'Connor. I don't know who Joe O'Connor is, but he obviously hasn't done his homework. Why do I assume that? Because this article has been written 30 times in the past, almost verbatim. Each of the previous attempts were bullshit drivel too, to be fair. The only thing good ole Joe has added is the new TV numbers for the Leafs (we watched double this year).

The article was titled "Leafs fans keep drinking Blue and White Kool-Aid". It's argument is that Leafs fans are all idiots for filling the ACC while the Leafs aren't playing very well. Uh, seriously? More importantly, who does he think Leafs fans are, Senators fans?

The ACC's lower bowl is always full because corporations buy those seats every year to enterain clients and ignore hockey. The ACC's upper bowl is always full because Leafs fans are FANS, not bandwagon jumers like most other teams in the league. The TV numbers were double this year because this team has a future. We played exciting hockey this year. We lost a lot, but the effort and the building blocks were there.
