With his assist on Zubrus' 3rd period goal against Toronto, Patrik Elias increased his franchise-leading point total to 794.  While 800 points itself is not a milestone in the way 500 or 1000 is, it is still the next level of 100 and definitely worthy of some recognition.  It may have taken longer than expected due to an injury at the start of last season and an anemic Devils' offense to start this season, but he is finally approaching 800 points.  It may seem so long ago already but some of you (myself included) may (nay, should) remember being at the Rock on St. Patty's Day 2009 when he surpassed John MacLean's franchise mark with his 702nd career point.  Given the other significance of that game (something about Martin Brodeur being the greatest or something), it is definitely one of the greatest games in Devils' history and one of my favorite memories of Elias in general.

Elias continues to re-write the Devils' record books each time he makes an appearance on the scoresheet, and it may not be too long before he becomes the all-time leading goal scorer for New Jersey's hockey club as he currently sits 20 goals behind John MacLean's 347.  With 2 years left on his contract with the Devils, it seems that this mark will be eclipsed (most likely will have to wait until next year).  He also holds the Devils' record for most points in a season with 96, and the career record for assists with 467 and counting.  Only MacLean (701), Muller (520), Niedermayer (476), Holik (470), and Broten (469) have more career points with the Devils than Elias has assists; and those last three can be passed this season.

So, in the spirit of Elias' approaching 800, I feel like it would be appropriate to ask everyone what their favorite Elias moment was:  I assume his Cup-clinching pass in 2000 and St. Patrick's Day 2009 will be at the top of everyone's list but is there maybe some other moment in his career that sticks out in your mind as a Devils fan?
