I am a 26 year old grad student in music history at Stanford. But I used to teach JH orchestra in Katy - and that is when I learned to like the astros. I'd played little league when I was real little and my family always went to a few games (mostly Brewers, since we lived in the mid-west).
But March 31, 2006 was the day I really fell in love with baseball (I don't think I have missed watching more than a handfull of games since). My mom and I went to that game together. Taylor Buchholz pitched 8 2/3 shut out innings in an exhibition game to beat the Royals.
Seeing the astros out in SF is a highlight of the spring. My parents came to visit that week and we were able to get all sorts of autographs and chat with some of the players for a moment. Brocail has really nice handwriting.
