Link says that a Spanish-language TV Network Univision is set to top U.S. broadcast networks in 3-5 years. Wonder how it ties up with Cain and the UFC? I'm too lazy to do article about it, so, you guys take a whack at it. :D

"I think [MMA is] here to stay. I think it’s here to keep existing. I think in a hundred years from now it will be interesting to see how variegated their experience is. But I believe there’s room for both, and that both are going to continue to exist and both are going to produce stars. And you know, I used to think of this in terms of "I like boxing because it’s better." But now I think of it in terms of "I like boxing because it’s boxing" – and some people like MMA because it’s MMA. It’s no better and no worse, it is what it is. And I think there’s room in the cultural marketplace for both." - Jim Lampley on Toro Magazine

"I’d like to be fighting in the UFC. Its where I think I want to be. Fighting for Strikeforce is pretty good and so is Japan but I just want to be back on the big stage and not be a journeyman anymore," - Phil Baroni on Fighters Only

Bloody Elbow 'Minotauro' Nogueira will not Fight Cheick Kongo

The rumored co-headliner bout between Big Nog and Kongo revealed a couple of days ago by Sherdog's Tim Leidecker was recently shot down by this news report by Joe O'Regan of Fighters Only Magazine

Antonio ‘Minotauro’ Nogueira will not be facing Cheick Kongo at UFC 97 in Montreal, Fighters Only has learned.

Sources close to the Brazilian say he is still deciding when he will next fight, but it will not be against the French heavyweight.

This is hardly surprising because with the way he performed the last time out (Staph infection aside) and his propensity to walk into strikes, this proposed bout with a world class striker in Kongo is definitely detrimental to Nogueira's health, especially with the rumors of his eyesight failing him and other health issues mentioned in the article.

And here's hoping for him to get back on track and get 100% healthy because there are a lot of other lucrative fights on the horizon for "Minotauro."

via images1.wikia.nocookie.net        via www.k1japan.com

Bob "The Beast" Sapp is set to return in MMA after a year of hibernation to fight Kinniku Mantaro from the planet Kinniku.

From MMAWeekly:

K-1 on Monday announced that Bob Sapp will make his return to Japan one year to the day of his last appearance.

Adding him to the Fields Dynamite!! New Year's Eve event at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, Sapp will face the mysterious Kinniku Mantaro in a mixed martial arts bout. Little is known about Mantaro and even the K-1 announcement contained no information about him.

As it turns out the 59th Successor to the Planet Kinniku Throne has been competing in wrestling tournaments here on Earth as Akihito Tanaka.

the person facing Sapp on New Year's Eve is Akihito Tanaka, a seven-time All Japan Wrestling champion. The bout with Sapp is being sponsored by the creators of the Japanese anime that features Kinniku Mantaro and Tanaka will actually wear a mask of the character when he fights.

Fighter preview after the jump.
