There doesn't seem to be one on Golden Glory's end, as Bas Boon today (Aug. 11) released a statement (via Fighters Only) that says any fighter who wants to compete under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner is free to do so -- and get paid directly in the process.

UFC President Dana White recently told media members the release of Golden Glory fighters Jon Olav Einemo and Marloes Coenen, along with Alistair and Valentijn Overeem, was due to "different business practices."

White elaborates:

"This is actually a pretty simple explanation. If you look back throughout history, we haven't had any Golden Glory guys fight with us since Semmy Schilt, right? And the reason is we have very different business practices. It's tough to do business with them. The bottom line is the way they do business is, you have to pay them, not the fighters. We don't work that way. It's not the way we do business. It's not how it works in the United States with the athletic commissions. You don't pay the managers and the managers pay the fighters. You pay the fighters and the fighters pay the managers."

Yet Boon insists his team made arrangements to allow the fighters to be paid directly and that perhaps Dana was "not well informed" of the situation.

He even goes one step further and offers the UFC an "exclusive contract" for former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem:

Sergei Kharitonov: When I read his interview I laughed out loud. Although he is 30 years old and that’s certainly not the reason for laughter. Alex is a drinker, he is always brawling. Normal man like me or Fedor would never drink to alcoholic mania and fight in the street. He rampages, harasses the waitresses and other girls, lies, cries on every corner that he is a champion of the world and the strongest man on Earth. I guess, this is some kind of a drug effect.

VT: Is it true that he is not allowed to fight abroad because of medical condition? The rumors are...

SK: All organizations in the world know about his hepatitis C and nobody wants to have business with him. He has drunk himself into this disease. He is drug addicted alcoholic and criminal. All his disrespectful remarks to the athletes  are just a bulls---. How can he fight with hepatitis? Nobody gonna take him to any tournament. He lies that he hasn’t been to prison but it’s not true, he has.

VT: What do you know about his business today?

SK: I know that for the present moment Alex doesn’t have neither house nor home. He has spend everything on drink. He doesn’t have a flat, doesn’t have a car. And the only way to make some money for him is to give a scandalous interview and to attract some attention to his person. He is ready for everything to get the bout. He even came to Fedor’s camp with the hope that Fedor would help him to organize a fight somewhere. But he is washed-up.

VT: Do you believe that prison has an influence on him?

SK: I know some people that have been to prison, they reformed, realized their mistakes and improved. Alex hasn’t changed at all. He stayed the same. There were some cases when he could get to jail but Fedor stepped in again. There were also some cases when Fedor literally saved his life. Being honest, prison is the best place for Alex. Fedor made a great push to take him out of a jail as early as possible. I remember 2002 when Fedor said “I’d like Alex to get out of jail somewhat quicker”. Fedor is the reason why Alexander is free now. Actually he owes his brother everything he has at the present moment. Fedor carries him on his shoulders. Fedor gave him an opportunity to step in the ring, to make some money. He used to make good money because of his last name but he could not keep it, swapped everything for drink and parties.

He is likely to give that interview being drunk and drugget-out. You can see it by his voice in his interview about Fedor’s trainers - he was inadequate. He’s gonna be 30 in 2 days, this error was born on August 2nd, day of airborne troops, my holiday. And he is still living from one drunken feast to another, from one scuffle to another. He must be missing the jail.

VT: Did you train with Alexander?

SK: He came to our gym in about a month since he went at large and Fedor asked me not to punch Alex too strong. And after it Alex said in his interview that he had taught me how to punch. What can a criminal teach you in a month after prison?

VT: Do you think there’s a risk for Fedor to be infected when he trains with Alexander?

SK: It’s just not comfortable for Fedor to turn his brother down. The only way Alex can knock somebody out now is the smell of an alcohol from his mouth.

I don’t think it was a good idea to take Alex to the camp. His comment “We were hanging out in Kislovodsk for three weeks” means that he distracted Fedor from training process.

And he always says «We» in his interviews. Who are those “we”? Fedor will get a lot of respect regardless of number of his losses. He is a respectful athlete and worthy person. Concerning Alex I can say that he  is the reason why our relations with Fedor became worth. We’ve drifted apart. It would be a great pleasure for me to come to Kislovodsk and train with Fedor but Alexnader’s presence there makes it impossible.

Miguel Falcao Goncalves signed a 3 fight deal with coloseo fighting championship..yes that would be the same promotion that plans on using PRIDE rules!! You cant let a killer like him fight under Pride rules...he might seriously kill someone. They need to make his match up a special, unified rules fight for his match up! They cant allow that killer to fight using foot stops, and soccer kicks.

This animal, fighting against subbar competition, under pride rules is truly a recipe for disaster. Assuming his opponent doesnt  DIE, it will be sure fun to watch!

The GOD is training for a late January fight... I cant say for certain that its with Strikeforce, but knowing that they have an event planned for late January, I will be shocked if its not in a strikeforce cage. Fedors camp saying they will know the name of the opponent this weekend. Whats worrying me, is that I know that he is preparing for a late January fight and has been for a while now, but what about his opponent?

Alistar: Fresh off a K-1 GP win last weekend, already stating that he expects to fight at the Dynamite year end show in a few weeks, and hopes its for a DREAM HW title. The other day, he also said that he expects to return to the SF cage in the spring. There is also no way in hell that Alistar fights Fedor on short notice. He isnt clinically Insane to do so. This all tells me that Alistar wont be Fedors opponent in January.

Werdum: Coming off a surgery. This is the biggest fight available to both Fedor and Werdum regardless of Alistar holding the belt. This is as big money of a fight as it gets for SF and werdum. Has Werdum been training for a late January fight? I dont know what the hell Werdum is doing! Is his rehab even done yet? I do know that Werdum aint giving Fedor a rematch on short notice while Fedor has been training and he hasnt...and nor should he!

Bigfoot: just fought a few weekends back so, Doubt he would fight Fedor 5 weeks later, especially since he took a beating in the 1st round against Kyle. who is there left for Fedor to face?

Barnett: maybe? He tends to be in some form of fighting shape all year round, and has taken plenty of fights on short notice before....but he isnt even reinstated with the athletic commission yet from the Afliction Debacle. No way SF books a main event fight with a fighter who they dont even know will be cleared to fight for that date.

Arlovski: isnt big enough of a fight to put on because he in on a bad losing streak in SF.

Look, cain is the truth. No doubt about that...but fighting Brock is a PROBLEM for the "ufc" Heavyweights. I think Brock would struggle much more with Megareem, Fedor and Werdum (have you people finally realized that he is one of the best heavyweights in the world, or will you continue to ignore his spectacular resume?)

I know all about Cains stellar wrestling background, but I also know it didnt quite stack up with a mamouth like Cole Konrad on the wrestling mat. Brock has shown a double leg takedown, with power and speed never seen in mma. I cant predict anyone to stop that, until I see it happen. Unfortunately, no one has ever seen Cain fight off his back, so it would be a stretch for me to blindly predict Cain being able to catch Brock in a sub from his guard, or think that cain will be able to get back to his feet once he has that mammoth Brock who will outweigh him by 40 lbs, on top of him.

Cain is going to come into this fight with a Bisping-like stick and move game plan, and try to pick Brock apart. Now, I havent seen the official reach measurements between the two, but I assume Brock will have a nice litte reach advantage coming into this fight, which will allow him to be patient, and CRACK Cain with those lunchboxs attatched to the end of his arms, when Cain moves in to unleash his combos. Brock doesnt want to chace a cardio machine like Cain around for 25 minutes..so he needs to be patient, and look to catch Cain moving into range. Cain needs to be very careful when bouncing in and out of striking range with brock.

Im a big fan of Cain, but I havent coined the term the BROCKNESS MONSTER for nothing. Now that Brock has proven to be mentally tough and posses the heart of a champion...Heavyweights are going to have to show me it, to get to me to believe it. and that goes for my beloved JDS as well. Until Brock fights a wiser Carwin...I wont even consider pickling against him, unless the UFC magically imports Megareem, The God, or Fabricio "Satan" Werdum into the UFC octogon! Can Brock Lose, i GUESS...but like I said, until I see someone beat him, I wont be picking against him EVER...so dont even bother asking me where I stand on a Brock fight. lol

Well, as most of you know i was in Rome trying to find a way to watch the event. Gotta love those pirated live streams. I dread the day that Dana whit wins the battle against pirated viewing, and you know its a battle that zuffa and its legal dream team will eventually win that fight. No pirated mma, means I would have missed the event!

Kong has solidified himself as the stupidest fighter in mma. As if most of us didnt know!

As Bispings longest tenured American fan, its great to see the brash brit finaly getting the credit he has deserved for a long time. Hate to see the Sexy Jap (no racial slur intended) lose, but someone had to! Bisping is a tough fight for most middleweights out there. Happy to see fellow americans finally showing him the respect he deserves.

I didnt think Condit would win, but I sure as hell respected him a lot more then my boy Hardy did. Condit looked extremely sharp! Condit is dumb enough to call out the winner of the sheilds fight, when Sheilds is alreday promised the title shot if he wins...Matchmaking I would like to see:

Condit vs. winner of paulo/Diego scrap

Hardy vs. the loser of the Diego fight!....which I suspect will be Diego, and I want to see if Hardy has learned to deal with a wrestler of Diegos caliber

Dont understand why Pyle didnt rip Hathaways shoulder off with a kimura when he had hin in the inverted mounted triangle...I hope a reporter asks him about it, cause Hathaways shoulder was ripe for the snatching!

SExyama needs to lose some of that muscle that is hindering his conditioning and cut down to welterweight because as tough and durable as he is...he did not look to be in the same weight class as Bisping!

The event featuered some decent action. Nothing too spectacular, but i havent watched the undercard fights yet!

"(Rogerio) wants what every other light heavyweight wants in that category and that's he wants a belt,” said Ed Soares. “Whatever fight is going to be, put him up a little bit closer towards that title shot, that's where he wants to be, that's who he wants to fight."

It turns out Nogueira is expected to face former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 113 on May 8 in Montreal. A win over a former champion surely would “put him a little bit closer towards that title shot.”

Despite Nogueira and Machida being Black House teammates, Soares believes a battle over the belt would be enough for the two to face each other, not out of any disparagement, but out of respect.

"They both want the same thing. Lyoto wants to keep his belt and Rogerio wants it. We'll cross that bridge when it comes, but I think when push comes to shove if that fight was to come up, I think they'd fight each other. They're friends they respect each other very much," Soares told MMAWeekly Radio recently.

"At the end of the day, they both want one thing. If the only way is that they're going to have to fight, like I said, we'll cross that bridge when it comes, but I think it could happen."
