D'Vante Henry dismissed from WVU football team

The Charleston Gazette and many other news sources are reporting that D'Vante Henry was arrested Wednesday night for second-degree sexual assult. He has also been dismissed from the WVU football team according to coach Holgorsen.

From the Gazette article: "Holgorsen said that even before the arrest, Henry had been "indefinitely suspended from game participation.'' He was expected to be redshirted and would not have played until 2014 anyway.

"There [were] strict parameters put in place that he had to abide by in order to play next season,'' Holgorsen said in a statement Thursday morning. "The allegations made against him are troubling and very serious. He is no longer a Mountaineer.''"

WVU Calls In The Wolf

Vaguely vague is the story of West Virginia calling in a firm that specializes in issues pertaining to eligibility, infractions and compliance. The reference to Pulp Fiction and Mr. Wolf took me on a tangent involving Dana, Oliver, and Ron Wolfley. There's no reason to believe calling Wolfley would help in this situation, whatever it may be. But we still remember him as an awesome Mountaineer, and that's reason enough to photoshop him in.

In 18 days, we'll ask if we have enough moonshine. Spoiler alert, we won't. But we'll keep calm rowdy and carry on.

Countdown To Mountaineer Football: 19 Days

Going with the Roman Numerals today. From the Ira Rodgers wikipedia page, "As a senior, in 1919, Rodgers had one of the greatest seasons of any player from West Virginia University. Rodgers led the nation in scoring with 147 points on 19 touchdowns and 33 extra-point kicks. He also threw 11 touchdown passes, which was a rare feat for that era and a WVU record until 1949. Rodgers earned consensus All-American honors that season, the first All-American in WVU history."
