Week 6 - Anaheim Calling H2H Keeper
It's week six. And I'm in first... but just barely. I don't know how that happened with my team full of 60 point scorers, but I'll take it.
Tsujimoto's Katanas (49-28-7) vs. Need More Boyntons (33-43-8)
Tsujimoto's Goaltending sneaks him out an 8-4-2 win!
MVP: Carey Price had a sub-1 GAA and two shutouts in three games.
LVP: Marian Gaborik rolls a -3 and no points.
Patrick Marleau had a great week for Boyntons, but it wasn't enough to take all the skater categories.
Week 5 - Anaheim Calling H2H Keeper
So, I'd like to keep the spirit going with the fantasy reports - but I only play in the Keeper H2H league, so that's the one I'm going to report on. Sorry, every other league!
Tsujimoto's Katanas (41-24-5) vs. Cologne Hockey Frogs (32-29-9)
Taro and team win 8-5-1!
MVP: Brad Marchand destroys his competition, going 3-3=6 and a +5.
LVP: Simon Gagne decided that he didn't want to play the puck, with 0 points, a -1, and only 4 SOG.
Cologne Hockey Frogs' goaltenders played a better game, but Tsujimoto's Katanas squeaked out an extra win. Skater stats fell almost entirely to the Katanas, excepting PIM and SOG.
Jake Newton Comments
So, Jake Newton. You have comments about the Ducks? You told the Syracuse Post-Standard, "I don’t know if the Ducks matched my style of play. I think they had an unrealistic goal for what they wanted Jake Newton to be. I think they were expecting much more from me in that (physical) respect, and I lost sight of what got me to this position."
Well, Jake Newton, I have news for you. You learned of your trade at a Darius Rucker concert. That means that you went to go see HOOTIE. Not the blowfish, not anyone else, but the guy who sung the "Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch" song.
No wonder you didn't fit in and were a -18. Hootie. Really?

The Battle of California NHL 12 Ratings Thread
So NHL 12 is now available... in Canada, for those who shelled out the extra $25 to get EA Sports games as a download three days early. However, this means we get an early sneak peek at the ratings in the game. Do they make any sense? Of course they don't. But here they are anyway. Unfortunately, too, the sources I'm culling these from (OperationSports.com) doesn't have the goalies listed. The rosters are a little out of date; EA usually updates them with opening day rosters. After the break, here we go!
Why Bobby Ryan Is Better Than We Think He Is
Bobby Ryan is often thought of as the "slow" triplet. He doesn't have Corey Perry's goals, he doesn't have Ryan Getzlaf's assists, and he hovers at only .87 points per game. When you take a closer look at Bobby Ryan's stats, though, it becomes just so much more impressive so to what he's done.
Ducks Sign Randy Carlyle to 1 Year Extension
http://ducks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=546301&navid=DL|ANA|home
I'm flabbgergasted. I don't know what to say. Somehow, somewhere, Ducks management has decided that giving another year to Randy Carlyle is a good idea. I don't know how Earl is going to take this news, what with his crusade and all, and I'm not sure how this works out for the rookies. Maybe the Ducks will have many more bowling adventures next year.
Ducks Reassign 12 Players
http://ducks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=538419 - Our ducks have made twelve cuts to their roster, including a couple of guys I personally hoped would make it beyond the first round of cuts, like Devante Smith-Pelly and Mark Mitera. The full list after the jump or if you click the link above.
Ducks Sign Teemu Selanne
It's all over Twitter, a Finnish paper is reporting the Ducks have signed winger Teemu Selanne. There are absolutely no details whatsoever available. My guess is that Teemu signed a 1Y 2M deal with about 1.5M in possible incentives. Is that substantiated whatsoever? No way. But, still, I have to fill up 75 words here for it to make me submit it. So with that, here is a sentence filled with the eleven words I need to post this.
Cam Fowler Signs Entry Level Contract
So, per the Ducks' Twitter, Cam Fowler has signed an entry level contract with Anaheim. I don't find it horribly surprising that he would, seeing his value as a blue chip prospect, but I worry when our bottom 4 will currently be almost all rookies - Brendan Mikkelson, Luca Sbisa, Cam Fowler, and Jake Gardiner (Maybe), that's a little scary. Thoughts about our weak blueline? I don't want a Boynton™, but a Mara® might not be the worst thing in the world.
Our Prayers Have Been Answered - Eminger Traded
WE TRADED EMINGER! It's a miracle that anyone would take him, but I suppose that Glen Sather is the king of taking on bad contracts. I wonder if Steve Eminger will really be upset that Derek Boogaard has a bigger contract than he does?
