Apparently, Texas Tech fans are making and/or buying these shirts.

I can understand the "South Champions" part as there is a 3 way tie. I believe technically they are co-champs, but that is a minor quibble. The key to this shirt is that if you look at the top you can see "The Best Season Ever".

Even in the worst of weeks for Texas football, it is good to remember that we could be Texas Tech.

TJ Ford and the Indiana Pacers played Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Neither team is very good this year.

Durant had 37 points and 8 rebounds.

Ford has 24 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Hopefully Durant continues to improve and hopefully TJ can make it though a full season. They both are great representatives for the university. I fully expect Texas to keep producing top notch talent for years to come.

Some media getting behind Texas

The Big 12 Tie-Breaker: The Hottest Cheerleaders

By Pete Fiutak

...

Along with strength of schedule, home field advantage needs to be a part of the overall mix far more than it is. Winning a game on the road deserves more love than winning one at home, and close losses on the road should be viewed differently than losing at home or at a neutral site.

Therefore, if Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma, that will mean the Sooners' part of the tie-breaker is based on a home win, while the loss (to Texas) will have happened at a neutral site. They didn't play a true road game in the tie-breaker mix, so, theoretically, they had the easiest path of the three teams.

Texas Tech will have lost to OU on the road, and the win will have come to Texas in the final seconds at home.

And then there's Texas. The loss in the equation came on the greatest play in the history of Texas Tech football on the road in Lubbock. The win came at a neutral site, beating Oklahoma in Dallas. Therefore, Texas, didn't have a home game in the mix and ended up having the hardest path of the three in the three-game round-robin tournament.

I still think Oklahoma is off to play for the national title if it wins out, but by who deserves to be playing for the Big 12 title, go with 1. Texas, 2. Texas Tech, 3. Oklahoma. Or else just hold a rock-paper-scissors playoff and you'll probably have the right answer.

Backup Louisiana State linebacker Derrick Odom was charged with a misdemeanor Wednesday, accused of smashing a car window after a brawl at a nightclub last week.

Coach Les Miles kicked Odom off the team.

Odom faces one count of simple criminal damage to property, according to Baton Rouge, La., police. He was involved in a fight at the Varsity nightclub near LSU's campus early Friday, left the club and was caught on video when he returned an hour later and smashed an SUV window, police said.
advertisement

A call to Odom's lawyer, Anthony Bertucci, wasn't immediately returned.

Miles said Odom was dismissed, as was walk-on linebacker Jeremy Benton.

Odom and backup quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, who also was in the fight, were barred from practice this week. Perrilloux, meanwhile, will remain on the team but will not play Saturday when No. 3 LSU faces No. 17 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., Miles said.

He said that decision was made because Perrilloux has missed the "lion's share" of practice this week.

Perrilloux wasn't charged in the brawl.

AUSTIN, Texas -- University of Texas freshman guard Dogus Balbay will undergo knee surgery on Tuesday, Oct. 30, UT athletic trainer for men's basketball Fred Burnett confirmed on Monday. Balbay, who suffered the injury to his right knee during a pick-up game on Oct. 4, will be out indefinitely.

As a senior at Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.), he averaged 13.5 points and a team-best 7.5 assists per game while leading Brewster to a 29-6 record and a runner-up finish at the NEPSAC Class A Championship. Balbay paced the Under-19 Turkish National Team to a seventh-place finish at the 16-team Under-19 World Championships this summer in Novi Sad, Serbia (July 12-22), leading his team in scoring (12.4 ppg), rebounding (5.8 rpg), assists (3.3 apg), steals (1.9 spg) and minutes played (26.7 mpg).

Did anyone see the Florida WR screen just now?

They faked a WR screen and the "blocker" ran down field to receive a wide open pass. Maybe Texas coaches will see this and add a counter when teams load up for the screen.
