Brandon Roy as the 6th man?
If Wes has such trouble getting into an offensive rhythm, would it make any sense to have Roy come off the bench? Maybe for a least a little while?
This would:
-limit his minutes on Roy's knees (perhaps he gets better as the year goes on)
-give the 2nd unit a better scoring option
-let brandon go to work on 2nd units around the league
-allow Wes to get into a rhythm early
-put our Wes $$$ to work so we can get some production out of him.
it was so great to see not a lot of iso plays called for with this first unit. I like seeing everyone and the ball move around. the defense was better and fast breaks looked great. thoughts?
To put some careers into perspective:
Manu Ginobli as the 6th man (started in 05-06, came off the bench starting in 06-07)
"In the 2006–07 season, the Spurs lacked energy from their reserves and Ginóbili provided it by coming off the bench for most of the second half of the season helping the Spurs attain the best record in the second half of the season. Ginóbili produced numbers closely identical to his successful 2004–05 campaign despite starting in only 36 of 75 games, his second lowest since arriving at San Antonio."

I know we pay him starter money, but sometimes you just gotta know when to minimize your losses. Sure he may win us a couple games in the long run, but I feel like this would be better for the long run for his health, his career, our record, Wes, and the team.

am going on Portland radio right now. I'll update my blog with scoop shortly.

I love the Bulls no nonsense free agency approach. Now they need to show some results to finish off their plan.

If the rumors I heard about the Bulls agreeing to trade Deng to Portland for Przybilla + Bayless are true they have a FA in the fold? Right?
