Plaxico a Giant again??

Just found this link on Yahoo Sports stating that Plaxico is likely to be released from prison in the next few weeks and that the Giants might be interested in re-signing him...

I'm hoping the quote from Reese is really nothing more than playing the media game because realistically what can Plaxico bring back to the team - barring another serious injury to one of our other WRs.

Personally I could only see something like this having a negative impact on the team given his previous attitude and given how much our young guys have developed at WR and that surely signing him could only take time on the field away from these guys...okay, maybe his attitude has changed while he's been in prison but just can't see this being a positive move - especially when it sounds like the big problem from last year, i.e. the defense, are already buying in to Fewell's methods and schemes from what I've been reading which will hopefully help turn around this team's fortunes

Would be interested to know whether you guys think this kind of rumour holds any water and whether you'd be interested in getting Plaxico back in a Giants uniform...I think I've kind of made my views felt but would like to know how others out there feel about this...

The Darren Sharper affect on Eli

Other than the ridiculously obvious upgrade that signing Darren Sharper as a FA (as seems like the Saints are going to allow him to test the market) would be for our secondary, I'm beginning to think that the Giants would have more to gain from signing Sharper than any other team in the league because of his affect on Eli...

I love Eli as our quarterback and don't understand the hate he gets from some people/press even after leading us to the Superbowl. However, in the continual quest for improvement and the push from being one of the top quarterbacks in the league to joining the elite group (i.e. Brees, P Manning and Brady) does anyone else think Sharper could be a key contributor an help turn him into a real special QB?

Every time Eli has been on the opposite side of the field to Sharper the guy just seems to have his number - the 3 pick game in 2005, another Interception TD return in 2007 and despite the roughing the passer call against the Saints this year another ball that ended up in the arms of D-Sharp.

Without a doubt it would seem that there is something in Sharper's game that just throws Eli into a bit of a tailspin and I personally would love to see what advice he could give Eli in dealing with a top-flight safety and what it is about Eli's game that has given him such an advantage.

I just think that any money available should be thrown at Sharper for a short-term improvement to our secondary and the possibility of turning our quarterback and offence into the best in the game (or as near as possible!)

Anyone else thought the same thing? Agree/disagree? Am interested to see what you guys think!

Antrel Rolle for anyone?

Given that the Giants are going to be dumping some salaries this off-season, and it's looking like an uncapped year anyway, what do people think about signing him to a contract similar to what he's reported to be due from the Cards this year c. $4m? Would surely be one of the better available players around and for just the cost of a salary would definitely be an upgrade over CC, Mike Johnson, Aaron Rouse, etc?

Anyone else think the Giants should make a run at him if the Cards do let him go?
